v Bradford City (h) - 12/8/25 - Carabao Cup

For all the cost cutting he'd be mad to actually want relegation, losing 50% of revenue would be impossible to overcome budget wise. Pasha just wants us to plod along in 18th in championship on lowest budget in league. -

Might give him more confidence for next game, and to be fair his speed and stamina were main reason we bought him so three games in a week ought to be fine. Interested to see Tavares, I know its lower league opposition but a good midfielder should boss this sort of game so it is still a useful insight. And reality is that he is probably the starter when we sell Trav. Interesting that Miller is at CB, and Henriksson as Right Attacking Mid; the latter could also do with a good game to settle. -

To be fair the way Derby are investing and Eustace's ability as a manager, I reckon a promotion clause in any sale would be worthwhile, as tragic as that is for us as Blackburn fans. In all honesty, while I would want 3m or similar to Brittain, we will likely sell at around 2-2.5m including add-ons because Pasha doesn't want to pay Trav a salary anymore. -

Did the FF minutes ever get published? If not then someone must be blocking it for some reason. -

We have to play the 1st team and play well to gain some confidence. If we are a couple of goals up in the 2nd half, then we can bring on the youngsters like Michalski, Tyjon etc. -
ValΓ©rien IsmaΓ«l: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
DutchRover replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
You say that but out last three managers have moved up arguably. Mowbray restored his rep and got Sunderland job before his health issues; JDT is Sweden boss; and Eustace is at Derby who are similar to us but actually support the manager. Ismael will see that and think if he can get us top half a more ambitious club will come for him. -
Ah but we need to see if they deserve an extension based on results this season, who knows what division we will be in and the budget...

It'll 100% be Travis who goes, he has more sale value which is all Pasha cares about. I would bet Pears, Buckley, Mafoumbi all go too, and maybe even Gueye if Ismael wants a new striker to compete with Ohashi. Not going to judge the new boys after one game, especially Henriksson who everyone was very excited about. I think Miller with Alebiosu as backup is fine, McLoughlan is a useful Championship player. De Neve perhaps more worrying but will hopefully be replaced by Kargbo next game to start. Taveres who knows still. RW is the problem position but hopefully we get Miyoshi done quickly, he should add creativity and I suspect more pace/nous than Hedges possesses. Shocking in the game report to read that Miller was having to tell Hedges what to do as his defensive work was his main redeeming quality. -

Afolayan would be a big upgrade on Hedges, surely out of our league. -

I am convinced we have to move players before we sign. Buckley, Pears, Travis and Mafoumbi (for ESC) are probably all gone before end of window, which would let us get Henriksson, Winger, Baradji? And another perhaps. -

DutchRover replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It's why I am a bit worried about the complete lack of links to a winger (since the Saudi one stopped), every other signing we have made is pretty much a cheaper salaried replacement for a player we offloaded (not including loans): McLoughlan = Batth Miller = Brittain Alebiosu = JRC Tavares = Weimann De Neve = Dolan/Markanday We know that Pasha hasn't allowed a transfer budget above what we already have, so I think we are creating funds by reducing wage expenditure and then that funds the difference (say a 5k player replacing a 10k one, and using the 250k odd difference for transfer). The transfer fees themselves, like for Brittain will instead be largely used for day-to-day costs, and maybe 10-20% to help get a replacement to placate the fans (Miller I would guess they knew they needed a replacement or there would be revolt). So in a practical sense incoming transfers do not impact the lack of budget. -

I think they are trying to flog Buckley before announcing him, otherwise they might have to spend some money out of pocket... -

I suspect Michalski might be in the Tyjon boat of needing to integrate them into the first team now to maximise value and persuade them to resign. Could be difference between the 1 mil Arsenal are supposedly offering and a few million in a couple of years if we can get them to sign without an Ash Phillips clause. -

For all that we still desperately need signings, I wonder if we are operating a one in one out policy. Will be interesting to see if Henriksson is only announced when we flog Buckley. -

You'd hope for at least 3m for Trav. Wage figures are tragic, would guess that we are probably 3rd or 4th lowest in the league now. Players we released or sold were presumably higher earners (Dolan aside), and we are replacing them with cheaper ones. It is literally the Coyle era project all over again, which I seem to recall was the last time Suhail had complete control.... -

I said a few days ago, the scouting department is doing all it can with a budget of nothing and Pasha refusing to allow players to earn a wage. But the long-term damage and reliance on cheap players over-performing expectations will not work in a league where everyone else is spending more and more money on better players. -

Links, nothing since the Derby/Wrexham stuff at the start of the summer. But he's presumably the highest earner, last year of contract, never going to resign and we are trying to sign two centre-mids in Henriksson and Baradji, so just do the maths. Replace everyone with someone cheaper is the only policy being pursued by the club just now. -

Jack Leach the england cricketer has Crohn's as well and plays regularly for his county Somerset. Only one spell I can think of that really took him out of cricket for a few months. -

If we move Pears and Buckley that just creates more holes in the squad. I'd prefer to keep them around than have more youngsters or cheap replacements.
