v Bristol City (a) - 4/11/25
DutchRover replied to Jerseybean's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'd sign Gardner-Hickman, reality is Tronstad is leaving, Forshaw is ancient, and God knows what baradji is going to be. Tavares already ditched by Ismael, Garrett and Montgomery not ready. So he's potentially the only starter we might roll with next year. -

Encouraging win to make it three in a row, some great performances by Ohashi, Miller, Alebiosu in particular. Bench weakness will hurt us through the season. Forshaw did very well once he came on, 30 minute cameos are fine, but god help us if he starts. -

Unbelievable workrate, compliments Gudjonson as a duo, and well taken goal. His volleyed chance was great technique too. -

Double disaster, and no Tronstad. Derby game we'll be playing the u18s at this rate... -

I wonder if Morishita moves to Left Wing Back when Cantwell comes back? He played wing back most of his career and would be better than Hedges or De Neve I reckon. Injury to Wharton could be a disaster -

First half was very good, second Bristol have upped their game and it has been more the game I expected. Really like the Ohashi-Gudjohnson partnership up top. I have always loved Ohashi but also always said he'd be better with a target man next to him. -

Recall for O'Riordan would be Suhail's solution I'm sure -

100%, we are getting relegated and we have to use that as impetus to rid ourselves of Venkys and the stooges, only then would there be any hope of rebuilding again. -
2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
DutchRover replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Season panning out as expected, ex-players who would walk into the team: Brittain, Sanderson, Hyam, Trav, Dolan, Heck even JRC and Buckley would improve this current team, and they were Blackburn lads to boot -

I mean almost anyone would do a better job than the current hierarchy... Ismael has no tactical or motivational talent at all as is becoming more and more apparent each week -

Think it's about the strongest team we can play at the moment, sad to say. Maybe Henrikson for Gudjohnson but that's close. -

"Strong" in the sense that we were ahead and creating chances, it's all relative when standards are so low -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

3 year contract, believes in the "project", and will say whatever Gestede and Suhail tell him, Ismael stays until they need a scapegoat, not results. -

Another pitiful performance after a strong first-half by the sound of it. Nailed on relegation as I said a couple of weeks ago. Nothing will change until Venkys, Suhail, Gestede and Ismael are gone. -

Ohashi having a really good game, streets ahead of Gudjohnson movement and effort wise. Good performance so far by whole team. -

Weirdly, I am excited to see Ohashi play with another ST next to him. Having Gudjonson to occupy defenders and play off should really help given his movement. We will still get thumped though... -

He was a LB or Wing-back in Belgium, I never quite got why they wanted him to be a winger -

We seem to swap to it quite often in the 2nd half of games, but we have no CB depth for 2 CBs, let alone 3, which means we'd end up with Pickering/Ribeiro/Miller as CBs which I'm not convinced by. -
Championship Season 25-26
DutchRover replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Relegation looking more and more nailed on with each passing week. Ismael will keep plodding along because Suhail and Gestede demand mediocrity and cheapness. Venky's probably don't even know what is happening. Summer transfers turning out exactly as we all expected, cheaper and worse, even those who have talent like Morishita. Selling Hyam and Travis was footballing suicide no matter how mediocre some on here think they were. Miller is not a CB, maybe in a 3 but never in a 4. Only consistently impressive new guy has been Alebiosu (Morishita perhaps to a lesser extent). It's genuinely hard to believe that even a couple of years ago I felt so positive/hopeful about the direction of the club with JDT and Gregg at the helm, with Adam Wharton coming through and Arma/BBD/Szmodics up top to root for. -
v Ipswich Town (h) - 20/9/25
DutchRover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Pitch was unplayable yes, but it was McKenna's complaints that forced the ref to stop the game; he had seemed happy to keep playing, with 10 mins left. Replay could be ruinously unfair, we were 1-0 up against 10 men, verge of 3 points versus a presumable playoff team. Imagine we lose the replay and get relegated by 3 points? Or Ipswich get automatic promotion ahead of another team by 2 points? We're talking millions in revenue either way for either team, and every other team would be just as angry as us in the latter circumstance. What if Tronstad gets an ACL injury in a replay and misses the rest of the season? Can we sue the league in such a circumstance? Its whataboutery but reality is replaying the game is unfair not just to us, but also the rest of the league. Everyone but Ipswich is punished by a replay, they get chance to get 3 points they had certainly lost yesterday. Only person who will be happy is Pasha, that he gets an extra home game of revenue... -

I think we would have a strong case for the result to stand, with 80 mins played and Ipswich down to 10. -

v Ipswich Town (h) - 20/9/25

Utter disgrace if we are not awarded 3 points for that performance. 80 minutes is surely enough for a result. -
v Watford (a) - 13/9/25
DutchRover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Excellent win, very solid though Watford were not particularly impressive. Great goal for Morishita, lovely assist by Ohashi. Gudjohnson did look useful once on but want to see more before I judge. Defence was very good, especially Alebiosu and Wharton. Toth solid. Tavares needs some time to adapt still, and I think he needs a more energetic partner than Tronstad. With them I think it should be either or not both, so for now Tronny and then Tavares when we inevitably let Tron go.
