v Ipswich Town (h) - 20/9/25
DutchRover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Pitch was unplayable yes, but it was McKenna's complaints that forced the ref to stop the game; he had seemed happy to keep playing, with 10 mins left. Replay could be ruinously unfair, we were 1-0 up against 10 men, verge of 3 points versus a presumable playoff team. Imagine we lose the replay and get relegated by 3 points? Or Ipswich get automatic promotion ahead of another team by 2 points? We're talking millions in revenue either way for either team, and every other team would be just as angry as us in the latter circumstance. What if Tronstad gets an ACL injury in a replay and misses the rest of the season? Can we sue the league in such a circumstance? Its whataboutery but reality is replaying the game is unfair not just to us, but also the rest of the league. Everyone but Ipswich is punished by a replay, they get chance to get 3 points they had certainly lost yesterday. Only person who will be happy is Pasha, that he gets an extra home game of revenue... -

I think we would have a strong case for the result to stand, with 80 mins played and Ipswich down to 10. -

Sounds like League can award us a result, or am I misreading -

Utter disgrace if we are not awarded 3 points for that performance. 80 minutes is surely enough for a result. -
v Watford (a) - 13/9/25
DutchRover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Excellent win, very solid though Watford were not particularly impressive. Great goal for Morishita, lovely assist by Ohashi. Gudjohnson did look useful once on but want to see more before I judge. Defence was very good, especially Alebiosu and Wharton. Toth solid. Tavares needs some time to adapt still, and I think he needs a more energetic partner than Tronstad. With them I think it should be either or not both, so for now Tronny and then Tavares when we inevitably let Tron go. -

I think the hype for Gudjohnson after two touches, and the hate for Tavares are both a little over the top. With the latter, I think his languid style makes it look like he's doing less than he actually is. Positionally he has been good, and technically he is an exceptional passer, just needs to adapt to speed of Championship like Tronstad did before. -

As usual his movement has been good, linked well when he's had support around him, and assist for Morishita was brilliant. Too often gets isolated, but that's a tactical issue, not Ohashi's fault usually. -

30 minutes in Rudy admits that they lowballed Hyam/Trav etc to try and lower their wages to the new arbitrary wage cap... Wonder why they didn't sign on for a 30% paycut... -

Glad to see they registered Pears, hopefully we will use him as 2nd choice while we still pay him, even if they plan is to offload in January. -

Much as it weakens us further, I understand the move for Gueye at least. He is now 3rd choice striker, its not a case like Hyam where we sold our starting CB with no depth at the position. I rate Gueye more than most on this board but it makes sense for both parties. Realistically, it is hard for a squad to carry more than two players for one position, especially someone like Gueye who was bought as a starter you'd think. I would have preferred we sold him during the window and brought in a versatile forward like Youan who can play striker or winger but clearly they want that "pathway" for Tyjon. -

Good to see Eze sign on, based on reports earlier in the summer he seems to be one of the best rated youth players at the club. Worry we will have to play him in 1st team far too early though when others get injured/sold. -

I think it should be more and more obvious that the issues in those windows were 100% Suhail/Venkys actively impeding the ambition of Gregg/JDT, not incompetence on their part. -

Why is Gestede wasting his time responding to individual LinkedIn messages and not doing his job or fronting up to actual media/fan scrutiny? It smacks of pettiness and weakness, picking and choosing which catered question to respond to without any risk of repercussion or pressure. -

A fair number of places will only serve halal meat now to save on the associated cost of buying and separately storing different meats. -

Even Elliot writing up criticism of Hyam decision and general downgrading of squad in the LT: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25433888.blackburn-rovers-transfer-narrative-fuelled-huge-risk/ It is utterly irresponsible/vindictive by Gestede/Suhail and condemns us to a near certain relegation fight rather than pushing on from 7th. The only motivating factors have been to cut the wage bill and remove anyone with an opinion/link to the club. -
Venkyβs (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
DutchRover replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
More than ever we need pressure on owners to sell, hope the Coalition have stuff planned after this disastrous end to transfer window. Realistically we need the Indian Gov to convict Venkys of illegal financial activity to create enough pressure on them to sell, but the never ending court case continues -

Suhail/Gestedes coup de grace in screwing us over would be offloading Gueye to Aberdeen before the Scottish window closes -

Another tragic leaving interview, talks about wanting to "come back where I belong" which is probably why Suhail and co were so keen to offload him. I did not personally rate him but I know some did, and I always have time for an academy lad/fan of the club. Even JRC/Buck/Trav were Rovers lads and probably needed purged because of that, regardless of a debate over their quality. Tearing the soul out the club once again, it is literally 2016/17 all over again... (not that much/any of the last 15 years has been good...) -
Venkyβs v Indian Government (a)
DutchRover replied to tomphil's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If they have/will be fined for illegal financial activity, even if the "Fit and Proper Test" doesn't demand a sale, it is more than enough to create a movement with a concretely evidential reason for their removal. One which local MPs would be able to take a solid and non-political position on. -

Only hope to salvage anything from this window is to raid Sheff Wed if they go under and we can get guys cheap on frees, or if there are any half-decent frees hanging around in general.
