I missed that - very sneaky mr @sympatheticclaret 😂

And I thought tradition would be important to a club with such a long history 😂😂😂

If the rumours are true we’ve just made our third signing this window, a striker, South African playing in the Belgian second division. -

Good fortune or good recruitment? Agree on the way they’ve bought the club. It’s now to see if they can make their version of ‘money ball’ work. Maybe it will but I’m not convinced. If Kompany takes us up (seems likely now) and keeps us up (a much bigger ask) then he will be on the move you’d imagine. Can they get the next one right? Who knows, that’s why I’ll enjoy seasons like this one when they come along as you never know when the next one will be. -

Fair enough, I could have sworn there were numerous on here wanted him out - and a number who were delighted when they got rid. My apologies if I’ve made all that up in my head. What issues underneath? As far as I know right now everything is running fairly smoothly. I’m no fan of the leveraged buy out but so far they haven’t put a foot wrong - time will tell if their business plan is long term or just some asset strip. Not sure what you imagine is going on behind the scenes though 🤷♂️ No team is this far ahead, at this stage of the season, as a result of good fortune. After 28 games teams are exactly where they have earned the right to be. After 46 the best team over the course of the season wins the league etc. Agreed. I think if you brought Dyche in it would be different as well. I expect it to be different anyway, there is just no way they can put in a performance like the one at our place. -

Oh quite a number of people, particularly WBA fans on social media - and quite a few Rovers on there as well. -

I’m trying to remember. I think it’s 6 but I’ll need to check. Always stay humble but there comes a time when you have to start accepting what is unfolding in front of you. WBA were another inform team who were expected and expecting to beat us but ultimately failed. The bookies and statisticians have us at over 90% chance of promotion and around 64% likelihood of being Champions. Nothing is assured but when there are 18 games left and you can probably lose 7 and still go up then it’s probably time to embrace it and, yeah maybe be a bit ‘braggy’. These seasons don’t come around often for teams like mine so I’ll enjoy it when it does. -

A hard won three points tonight. Just Watford in the top 10 we haven’t beaten this season, yet. Considering there’s “no Fulham or Bournemouth” this season we are doing OK. If we carry on like this we might just have a shout at joining the exclusive 100 club! -
Genuine question - and this might be the wrong thread for it - but what do you imagine their end game is? I can’t believe they plan to keep making losses and I can’t see anyway for them to get their money back other than a sale as a PL club again. I do struggle as an outsider to fathom their actions since taking over. Is there a chance they write of some/all debt and look for new owners now?
-
So would you take Dyche if they decided that JDT wasn’t working out?
-
You see them week in and out so I’ll always defer to your knowledge obviously. A lot of people seem to be assuming we are up, a dangerous game with 57 points to play for. we’ve looked a bit off in a few games recently and on Friday we have a team in top form coming to town.
-
But at the same time you’ve had big results and the manager has a couple of more months to work on your team. I’m sure he will ensure the likes of Wharton come in to add some fire to the teams belly. Listen I’d love a 0-5 and some salve for April fools day but I 100% believe you will be a different team in that game.
-
Not a chance. Your guys will be desperate to put right the Turf result.
-
To be fair it was started to celebrate our impending relegation and somewhat continued to gloat about our impending financial implosion - and back to back relegation in the eyes of a few. Things obviously took a different turn so maybe it is time for the admins to lock this thread and stick to the more general Championship thread so at least anything on us is diluted 🤷♂️. Could always be reopened if we implode.
-
Don’t be silly now. If anyone should have been sent off it was their keeper. He was time wasting when they were well on top in the first half 🤷♂️ I appreciate your belief in us however we haven’t qualified and no reason to assume we will. IF we do is would pile up fixtures so brings its own issues. 😂😂😂.

Shit is a bit harsh but we were not at our best. First half Coventry were easily the better side. We improved second half but were still not at our best. Coventry looked a decent side, Gyorkes looks a very good player. We play WBA Friday, that may see our unbeaten run end as they are on it. As sweet as that would be for us there will still be 8 games to play so that seems unlikely plus a lot of football between now and then before we can even think about promotion.
-
I’ve only seen him once in the flesh - and forgot he was on the pitch. I guess the manager has earned the right to identify players but I can’t say it’s a signing that will make me think ‘that’s it, we’ve won the league’. Mind you we probably need to cough up near 20 million for the likes of Gyorkes and that isn’t happening.
-
So they say - will need some tlc to get the best out of him IF we sign him. I think I’m just tired from all the cheque signing 😬
-
There are no excuses. We are 14 points clear. If all we lose player wise this window is one player to injury for a couple of months then we shouldn’t break stride. I’m just saying he’s a big player for us.
-
Not sure but I had the impression he turned us down in the summer anyway. We have Taylor who can cover there but wouldn't be my choice. McNally did look ok against Bournemouth once he'd settled down but not sure he's ready and we are about to sign a 20 year old Belgian/Iraqi but not sure whether he's ready to step in either. The way we play is very dependent on CH's and defenders who can play out from the back, at pace when needed so this is definitely a set back for us.
-
Stories now seem to back this up, suggestions he's out for a couple of months. Big loss for us.
