  1. The Aussies are out of it, don't waste your five quid In THIS circumstance they have themselves to blame, they had a perfect opportunity to make some runs and put England under the pump on the last day, they failed and England win the Ashes. Now for some changes starting with Buchanan out and Marsh in The most dissapointing player in this series has been Clarke for me, he has been totally unreliable in pressure situations. I tipped him to be a success story at the start of the series but he has failed miserably. We are going to have to agree to disagree about the 'evening out' of decisions, yes they have probably 'evened out' for this test and the result will show that. As far as the rest go it is all history now anyway
  2. Well I guess it is time to concede the Ashes are on their way to England Well played England, through excellent bowling, Flintoff, luck and umpire decisions going your way you have deserved your series win. They really have proved they are a good team on their own soil and I will be the first to admit it See you in 2 years, we can't wait Now back to the footy for me
  3. Ha Ha same here, I am struggling at work today though. Think an early mark is in order How many Brits made it to work yesterday?
  4. Good recovery by England but I think Australia can be happy at the moment as long as they can knock over the tailenders early Fifth day Australia needing to chase 130 in one session
  5. Now we are getting there mate, away with the fair play, good shot, nice effort comments and into what is really ticking over in those brit minds of yours Anything to beat these aussie convict rock crushing arrogant wanna be englishmen
  6. That's better Billy Keep talking it up lads, get ready to be ripped through
  7. What does Australia have to do to get a decision from Bowden? Trescothick was gone lbw, that ball was smashing middle and leg Once again England would have been 7 - 1 and under pressure with the new ball, now they are 70 - 0 F***ing joke
  8. Is that all it will take pg? I give the English batsmen at least 8 or 9 hours
  9. Maybe I won't use the soccerbase facility anymore then ok.....
  10. HEY! I can still admit that we have been outplayed in all the tests except the first Now the reason for my perceived arrogance is that no one gave a toss about the aussie cricketing plight when we were down in the early eighties and now we are expected to feel sorry for everyone else because we have been pumping them for a decade. No way, if the English win the Ashes do you think they will let it rest at "Good series, I really enjoyed that on a sporting level, clap clap..." Crap, they are going to give it to us for the next two years. Sport is about winning, nothing else. If Rovers played entertaining attacking football every week but lost 5-4 and ended up being relegated we wouldn't be clapping our hands in joy for such a good sporting spectacle.
  11. Didn't Dawson move for just over 4 mill?
  12. The list of Englishmen who have been transferred for 7,000,000 + Le Saux Davies Heskey Collymore Sutton Andrew Cole Fowler S Johnson Richards Woodgate Ferdinand A Smith Defoe Parker Bridge Beckham Rooney Jenas Owen Crouch SWP Jeffers Cort Soccerbase doesn't appear to pick up Jeffers and Cort under a search for 7000000 +
  13. The signs are right, Australia to finish off the English in four days I don't think I have ever been more excited about a cricket match Channel 9 must be kicking themselves silly at the moment
  14. What a woeful display lacking in any creativity and Rooney is a goose... Best line I have seen in a match report yet 'Are you Scotland in disguise?' taunted the home fans. Certainly not, for the Scots are a winning side again, courtesy of a 2-1 success in Norway.
  15. Now your whinging that we are whinging Keep your crown Princes of the Pertinacious
  16. Well as a matter of fact the Australian Cricket Team was voted Team of the Year by Laureus in 2002 (otherwise known as the oscars of world sport) And as far as your comment about no one from England recognising this fact maybe you should see the list of the voting members of Laureus under the letter B for Botham I am good at two things though: Getting my facts right and putting little old men back in their box
  17. Yeh but they rapped up the 20/20 game And we all know how important that is
  18. Mate I think your forgetting a little thing called womens cricket At least one of our cricket teams knows how to play the game
  19. Oh my god, truely called a great test country? IF you win the series it will be the first one in close to 20 years, give me a break, remain on top for the next ten years then call yourself a great test nation. At the moment you haven't even gone past flash in the pan in reputation stakes Australia has done everything there is to do in Cricket, we have won world cups, we have beaten every country on their own turf, we have been recognised at the highest level as the greatest SPORTING team (not just cricket but all sports) in the world and hold the record for the longest winning streak by a long shot. Good series England but don't count those chickens yet
  20. I don't know about 4th best, he plays for Victoria and he had a very good season in Pura Cup. He started quite late in his career to become any good but sure why not give him a shot
  21. So many questions...... They are not in the team because up until this recent test series the current team was continuing to perform. The last cricket we played we smashed the kiwi's in their own backyard. Why change what is working? Now why they haven't been brought into this test series is we are on our domestic off season, you don't blood youngsters on an ashes tour who haven't played for 8 months. We bring our younger players through our Australian A team which plays pretty regulary on top of domestic cricket. Other then Tait we have Griffiths, Nicholson, Noffke, Watson, Dawes and Bracken as younger bowlers to call on and the batting is even stronger with the likes of Hopes, Perren, North and the Hussey bros ect. There will be some changes and test careers over at the end of this series. Now as far as Symonds goes, it is of common belief that to be called in as an allrounder you have to merit your place in the team for at least one of those items. Getting 2 wickets and 35 runs really doesn't cut it and that is what Symonds would give.
  22. Flopsy you been missing the last ten years or what? The same thing when Lillee and Thompson retired or Lawson and Alderman or Hughes and McDermott.... we will find someone else to take wickets, I don't see why everyone is acting like we have no one to fill the gaps. We have excellent youth coming through who have been sitting by in the local scene ready to burst into the test team.
  23. Good win by England, finally the aussies show what they normally play like Hand the mantle over? I don't think so, Australia to flog the English in the fifth (after a few minor changes) Kaspa out McGrath in, Hayden out Hussey (who is currently playing county cricket!!) in
  24. I don't see how it has evened up really, in my opinion, England get a bad decision when they are 2/426 Australia get two in a row when they are 1/36 and 270 runs behind. Now granted the English have done well to get them in that position through very very good cricket, but the not outs given to Flintoff (on 7) and Jones (first ball after lunch yesterday) added over 180 runs to the English total. Yes I am sore we playing without any luck and form, but I would rather lose because of a Flintoff yorker then a dodgy lbw decision.
