Aussies completely dominated the game, Japan only looked good on the counter but lacked any type of finishing quality. Emerton and Wilkshire were dire. Australia looked much better with the two big boys up front and having Cahill play off them. Now if we could get Bresciano, Cahill and Skoko in that region playing off the two boys in front there would be a lot more goals in the bag. Emerton is never going to get there to take those shots, even when he had 50 seconds to settle he skied it. He was solid enough in defence but coming forward was horrible and offered nothing on the right. Neill and Moore were fantastic at the back, nothing was coming through the guts except for direct balls over the top. Wow that would be a coup for Palace. Zaccheroni seems to be one of those managers that would suit well at a club like Rovers, Spurs or Villa. Except for his first year at Milan, he never quite got there but would suit a top 6 team for sure always pushing for honours without too much expectation. He did very well for Lazio (my italian soft spot) when they were in a rough patch due to the mass player exit, I think he could work wonders at Palace.

Australia played much better in the second half. The first 20 minutes Emerton was getting skinned by Robben Australia certainly tightened up in the second half and probably played better with 10 men.
