  1. I don't see how some fans here can still criticise Paul Dickov... He gives 150% (if possible) and only has one goal less than Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink...
  2. It's a shame that it isn't working out for Javier here.. On his day he is a great silky player and has a terrific passing range on him..
  3. We would just like to see our most expensive signing this summer at least feature a little.. True we are on a good run and the midfield is settled and we are reaping the rewards of Emerton & Reid showing their true potential. Morten-Gamst was impressive and raved about for Tromso, so if given the chance and taking it (like Reid) think what a player we'd have? A few minutes here and there surely would suffice?
  4. Great result and I was expecting more from Fulham but they were very very dissapointing. I wonder how different the game would of been if they had Boa Morte available *shudders* I can understand people being worried about Nissa at left-back but apparantly he was solid there and I wonder if this will be his consistent position from now on? Since McEveley has been dropped. Anyway, out of the relegation zone, 3 points, a clean sheet and a hardworking, professional performance. 'Ave it!
  5. Can't believe that's going on....particularly after everything we've had this week... I actually remember several years ago when I was at Fratton Park watching Portsmouth against Crewe (free ticket, nothing else to do) Crewe's black goalkeeper 'Ince' (can't remember his first name) but he was injured and the fans thought he was wasting time, I was surrounded by fans calling him a "black c*nt" "black bast*rd" etc. and making the monkey noises.... Me and my uncle told a steward nearby who did naff all... Racism will never be kicked out of people I'm afraid..
  6. Defence is a shambles but I'm going to stick by McEveley.... I mean who have we got to replace him? Gray? Gresko? ....*gulp* Matteo? All huge under-performers. 3-2 Let's get a point out of this!
  7. Not a bad line up, and our bench looks quite good with MGP hopefully going to get a chance and Thommo there too.... although Matteo is a dissapointing inclusion Come on Rovers! We can do this!
  8. Apparantly Souness is looking at Boumsong at Rangers and John O'Shea (who I rate highly and always did since I first saw his earliest games for Man. Utd). Apparantly Souness made enquiries and kept constant interest in O'Shea when in charge here. Do you think there is any truth in this? Also, why didn't he ever go for Boumsong at the start of the season for us? I mean he was available on a free.... Hmmm maybe he did who knows... I'm just still sick in the stomach that he thought Dominic Matteo was the key to solving the creaky backline
  9. Sometimes though quality can be enough. After all football is football and if you have the skill and ability (plus application) you will do well. I'd choose Morten Gamst over Douglas on the left 1,000,000 times...
  10. Don't be daft. He wasn't particularly good by any stretch of the imagination and had a fair podge of a stomach when he played for us but 6 goals in 16 starts isn't that bad. Anyone remember that poor scandanavian we fielded against Sheff Wednesday in the League Cup Semi Final. He was bloomin awful. Paddy Andersson or something he was called. I bet he never did anything after leaving us. lol Did he play appauling for us then? Funny how bad players can actually turn the corner then.. But what we have to think about is how much money has actually been spent on fees and wages for a right load of tosh in the past few years.. Worrying...
  11. Either way it's just getting boring now...
  12. Who does this 'Grella' play for? Is he anything good?
  13. Didn't say he was slow. I just said him and Berg weren't the fastest defensive pairing. Which is true.
  14. Rovers 2 (Dickov, Emerton) Birmingham 1 (Gronkjaer) I'd put this line-up out: Friedel Neill Todd N-E Johansson McEveley Emerton Reid Ferguson Morten Gamst-Pedersen Dickov Jansen ---------- Subs: Enckelman Gray Djorkaeff Thompson Stead
  15. Bingo. When we finished sixth we had a very gritty, hard to breakdown backline with Berg and Short (granted it wasn't the paciest).
  16. Should be ashamed then.... McManaman has no strength whatsoever... weak bean pole.
