  1. So what you're saying is Big Ron worked for a money making company which feared his continued employment would damage their reputation and result in them losing lots of money. So you'll agree the only solution was for the 2 to part company?
  2. People will have their views on this but despite everything Ron Atkinson has shown, just like he did on Room 101, that he's an egotisical IGNORANT fool. Whether he's racist or not isn't the issue. In the high profile job he has, complete with the influence he may or may not have, he was right to lose his job for his stupidity alone. Desailly's elbow, gangsta rap, bling bling, Ian Wright, PC Guardian readers - they don't even come into it.
  3. O.K so for those that will be going straight to Bray, which pub(s) in Bray will the Rovers fans be heading for, and where is it in relation to the station? Sorry if I am repeating a much asked question.
  4. Bugger. Ticket office closes at 4pm. That's me in work at the phone for 5 to 9 in the morning.
  5. Cheers guys I decided to spend an extra tenner on the ticket and fly at 11am. The best way all round. Got 3 nights from Wednesday so going to be an expensive one as bringing the bird as well (and before you ask she does know about the football!) So it looks like centre of Dublin is the place to stay, but plenty of beers in Bray before the match.
  6. Can anyone confirm the kick off time for the game. Torn between flight times of 7am (would rather not) or 1:30pm on the Wednesday. Don’t want to risk running late though. Also, I know people have been kind enough to post links, but is there any indication of how many tickets there will be and how they will be sold/allocated? cheers
  7. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the policy appears to be that those fans who have a record of purchasing tickets on a regular basis can get a ticket. They can buy 2 tickets if they regularly buy 2 tickets. These rules seem fair to me. If you’re a season ticket holder but regularly buy additional tickets (like Paul does) you should have no problem getting additional tickets for this game (like Paul again). If you’re a STH and you never buy additional tickets, why do you want one now?
  8. SteB, you have to get a ticket. It was stated that those season ticket holders that went to Sofia were guaranteed a ticket, therefore you, and Jordan etc have to have one. I’m sure for all matches like this there are a number of tickets kept aside for cock ups etc. As they won’t be able to take away someone else’s ticket yet at the same time they can’t go against their word.
  9. What’s your problem Blue Flush? I’ll agree that Rovers should have pushed for more tickets and the allocation of those tickets should have been fairer, but you can’t go blaming fellow board members for that.
  10. According to the girl I spoke to this morning they had, as the information came up on computer when I read out the season ticket account numbers.
  11. Started ringing at about 2 mins to 9 this morning. Got through to the voice message and queue at about 5 past. Sat in the queue for half an hour and go though only to find the 2 applications my dad handed in (albeit with a handful of away stubbs as well) to the ticket office on Saturday had already been accepted. So I suppose I got through twice. The idea of handing in the ticket on Saturday was a pure gamble too. See you in Glasgow, and at Arsenal on Sat for those that are going.
  12. Ticket or no ticket, I’m booked to be in Glasgow on the 31st so that’s where I’ll be. Good luck on Monday morning everyone.
  13. Glen I sincerly hope you get a ticket. I probably don't deserve one but I have as much chance as you do. Couldn't agree with you more mate.
  14. Don't know what the fuss is about the home game. Any Rovers fan who wants a ticket will be able to go. As long as you're on the database. It's just too risky promoting it as a match to attract "new" supporters, as it's obvious a lot of these places would be taken up by Celtic fans, or even worse, ticket touts look for a fast buck. No, my gripe is with the away match..... The fact is that those fans who travel to watch Rovers on a regular basis, and attend every cup home game as well, have as much chance of going to the Celtic game as a first time season ticket holder who’s never seen Rovers away does. And all this talk about those committed fans will be the first in the queue on Monday. Well, correct me if I’m wrong but how difficult is it to get a Rovers ticket at an away match these days? It ain’t difficult at all. So I don’t see a correlation between forking out hundreds of pounds to watch Rovers at Middlesbrough, Birmingham, Man City etc and having an ability to get up in the morning and queue up in the rain for a couple of hours. And incidentally, this has nothing to do with me, as I’m not a season ticket holder and haven’t been to all those games above. I would, if I could, but that’s another matter. Still, got a great chance of getting Celtic tickets now though.
  15. So you’re very confident of getting a ticket on Monday then Tris?
