  1. For me the whole thing just highlighted what a grey area this clear goal scoring opportunity is. It's all about interpretation. I wouldn't be surprised if the FA foresaw this and asked the MOTD2 guys to agree with them in order to give them some support. Once the ref gives the penalty he's given Spurs undoubtably a much better scoring opportunity. Should only be a sending off if it's a handball on the line or a player is deliberately hauled down when through on goal with full control of the ball. If there's any doubt, the player shouldn't be sent off. The problems now stem from the laws of the game themselves.
  2. I rang Rovers yesterday and they said they had been given a small amount of extra tickets, but they had already been allocated. Strange that there has been no official announcement on the website though.
  3. Yes but he's going to be leaving in January or the summer if we like it or not. Better to get a decent full back in rather than end up without one at the start of next season.
  4. Completely agree Blue Blood. I think USA Blue has the answer he was looking for now Gally has plenty of technical abilitly and is a clever player, but I'm just not sure which position would suit him in the team.
  5. No problem, I appreciate the dig. I'm not crying about it. Tis my own fault as I went to Salzburg and could have got a ticket straight away. Was on holiday and waiting on a mate back home to sort tickets out.... he never did.
  6. So as a former London Branch memeber you would be happy to hand one over then?
  7. It's great to see Rovers selling out their allocation, only trouble is I've just been informed I've not got a ticket. Late in applying due to being on holiday. If anyone hears of a spare ticket please PM me, otherwise I will cancel my hotel a the end of the week
  8. Neill is playing through the pain barrier at the moment as he is carrying an injury. Hardly sounds like a player who can't be arsed.
  9. We already have our own Beckam in Roberto Savage. Good engine, works hard, poor first touch, some great free kicks, dodgy haircut! Tugay of course is irreplaceable.
  10. Bl**dy hell Rovers. We're riding our luck a bit
  11. Waching on Swiss TV. It's certainly there to be won. MGP and the front 2 have stepped it up in this half. Still don't see the point in Mokeanna. He provides nothing going forward in Basel are still looking a threat on the break. We still have plenty in us to win this. There you go
  12. How well did Drogba take his goal though? Talk about coming on as a player this season. Last year it would probably have been a first time swing and the ball out of the stand. Think Mourinho has been watching vids of Simon Garner, looking at his celebration...
  13. Radio commentators. Don't you just love em... Remember guys, I can't see when Jeffers' header goes over the crossbar as opposed to in the net. You can, so please don't misslead me into believing that we've equalised... thank you So that's the 1st away fixture I've missed at West Ham since the 90s.. but we still didn't win. Sheringham still scored though
  14. Would love to see a fully fit Dunn back at Rovers, but he's certainly no replacement for Tugay. Doesn't have the natural discipline to sit in front of the back four like Tugay.
  15. Doesn't matter if you think Rooney or Gerrard are world class or not, fact is we now have enough good players to fit a system which will work. That's 4-4-2 with a holding midfielder, an out and out striker a second striker in support. It's not rocket science. I blame the players for the performance on Saturday, but the tactics last night? What was that about? My main concern about McClaren was always his ability to motivate the players. It seems now he hasn't got a clue about tactics either.....
  16. I can just hear the excuses now from the pub goers, after the rest of the Darwen End has been given to Bolton. "Couldn't get a ticket, home end sold out"
  17. So if the Salzburg game drew 20k, then we can at least add 5k for Notlob and then probably another 2-3 k of fans for the Sunday vs Thursday game. Good work Rovers. Unfortunately I can't make the game and I also won't be sending the club a cheque for £15. I will pay whatever ticket price is asked of me when I do come over in Novemeber.
  18. The guy really does need to keep his mouth shut. If a player wants to move on after his contract expires then fair enough, but saying things like this isn't going to do him any favours because I'm sure he'll receive a few boos from sections of the crowd now. I hope he doesn't, been a great servant and gives his everything in each game he plays. Always remember he was the guy who got all the players to give their shirts to the fans at the end of season match at Spuds when we won 4-0.
  19. Both home kits will be fine. It's all about the socks anyway...
  20. They've got everything the wrong way round. Going to be near impossible to make the away leg in just 2 weeks time, where as Basel away would have been a piece of p**. Would really love to go to Krakov, but chances are I won't be able to get a ticket anyway. Incidentally Basel have not been on good domestic form since they lost the league to Zurich on the last day of the season. They probably have the most talent of all the Swiss teams though and were very unlucky to lose to Middlesbrough last season.
  21. One trip to Barcelona and one trip to Eastern Europe please. Bucharest would be nice.
  22. The important thing this half is to keep the ball, and keep Salzburg on the back foot. Really wishing I was there, sounds like a good atmosphere on Radio Rovers....
  23. Don't you get the Austrian channels (Orf 1 and 2) over there? I'm hoping it's on one of those as I think British Eurosport is not the same as Eurosport 1 or 2 that you get in Europe
  24. Ok then, here's a good one.... Let's knock the Riverside down, and then move on to the top tier of the Darwen End. Contunue this process until the ground is full week in week out and even regular die hard fans are struggling to get a ticket. Then make it mandatory to buy 10 year season tickets (with concessions of course) as the only guarantee of getting a match ticket. Over sell and before you know it we have 40,000 season ticket holders for the next 10 years. And then re-build the stadium really really quickly
  25. Completely agree. Couldn't think of anything more unoriginal
