How many of these new signings will stay in the Championship?

Probably most of them I would imagine. I can't see there being large queues of teams after singing any of them....last time they managed to recoup some money as they had saleable assets like Pope, McNeil, Cornet and Collins, this time ermmmmm

Wasn't at the game yesterday, but reading the reports it appears that physically at least we were able to match the nobbers , whereas in the home game we were completely out fought and bullied by them.

Have to say though, I am concerned about this run of games in a short space of time with our injury record. Players like Gallagher, whatever you may think of him, will be vital in the run in, we can't afford to lose him for any length of time. But what games do you leave him out of, it's a big decision. Sounds like the pitch was heavy yesterday and will have taken a lot of the players, do you rest him on Tuesday? Same goes for the like of Hedges, McFadzean and Brittain, players who succumb to  injuries fairly easily. Some big decisions to make over team selection in the coming weeks for the manager

Gallagher went down injured in the second half yesterday, think it was his ankle by the looks of it. You're right though he's crucial, but it's very hard to see him staying fit for the remainder of the season....

we also had the 3-2 lose in 2019 when we were 2 nil up, 4-1 loss in 2018, 3-2 lose in 2016.

since 2015 in head vs head against PNE whether at home or away, Rovers have won 4 games, loss 8 games and 4 draws.

On a similar note, In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune.

  4. There'll be some tired legs after yesterday on that absolute joke of a pitch especially, just what we needed a long trek to Cardiff.

In an ideal world there'd be a few changes to rest players, but that's not really a luxury we have with this squad.

Cardiff have us, Stoke and Huddersfield in their next 3 home games and will want to win a few to avoid slipping into the relegation fight we find ourselves in.

I can see it being an absolute pig of a game, 1-1.

Draws aren't much use to us in our predicament, we need to get the balance right between making us harder to beat (signs of that yesterday) and still showing attacking intent. When you haven't kept a clean sheet for an eternity, it's pretty obvious we ain't picking up many 1 or 2 nil wins.

We have no recall option but i'm sure they could cancel it if they decide it's pointless keeping him however that would probably mean some financial penalty but Rovers could always wave that.

You, I nor anyone else knows what could actually be done if the desire was there by all parties.

However it's unlikely they'd let him go anyway.

What are you actually on about?

He's at Ipswich, he's playing football for Ipswich, he's there for the season.

No rule bending allowed, at all. He's AT IPSWICH.

  6. Well, it was better than Tuesday I'll give them that.

To be fair, he's obviously making us harder to beat, and that second half I'm almost certain we'd have folded under JDT. It's still fucking annoying though losing a 2 goal lead. That said, I'd have taken a point at the start.

The problem we have is we don't really have much time for JE to put his stamp on it, we need some points and pronto.

Garrett was dreadful and I think he made Tronstad look worse too as he busy bodied about doing everything he could. Fleck evidently rushed in after playing next to no football all season, what a shocker he got injured.

  7. This is a season of firsts for me.

Didn't go boxing day for the first time in as long as I can remember and not going Preston for the first time in as long as I can remember either.

I probably will watch it (at least initially) but definitely not looking forward to it one bit. Suppose its a bit like having a look when driving past a car accident ☹️

They SURELY cannot play worse than midweek, can they?!?!

He’d been here about three years before he’d even been interviewed to camera (and that was a panicked one with the in-house media team after the Brockhall plan had been rumbled).

Then he disappeared again from public view until JDT decided to put him front and centre. Any fanbase wide ‘engagement’ he’s done he’s had to be dragged to.

    Fully agree.

If you ask your typical rovers fan who Waggott is though, I reckon probably most have an idea.

If you ask who Suhail is, I bet its less than half....

Good stuff for trying to turn the heat up on suhail. He's a shadow man who should be brought out into the open.

Personally disagree on Waggott, I think he's shown complete disregard for the fans during this and for a large part of his time here. He has a special line to a few fans and that leaks out on here but other than that he doesn't say anything unless he has to.

This is a big part of the disfunction at the club, nobody communicates anything. Waggott judging from those who have spoke to him seems to be quite a good talker in smaller circles but doesn't like and (imo) doesn't come across well in larger interviews. His nature is to withhold information. The fact he's not spoken properly following the turmoil of the last month speaks volumes.

I think for all GB's faults (his transfer record doesnt look good right now) he's shown a willingness to communicate with fans and that has been appreciated by them. If Waggott communicated the strategy clearly I think he'd find a lot of people will go with him because as we've seen a lot of fans are happy to swallow the party line.

The main cause is to remove the owners and waggott goes with them. But I really don't like or rate waggott at all and to quote kevin keegan I would 'love it' if he was removed from the club.

I'm not for one minute defending Waggott, he's just stuck his head about the parapet slightly more than the other snake in all this.

    'Ask Steve and Suhail'

I bet there were a hell of a lot of Rovers fans hearing that and saying 'who' ?

Your time in the shadows is up my friend it's time to step into the light and answer some straight forward questions with honest answers. That's all we ask and if there is nothing to hide then why do you ?

Funnily enough I did exactly that, I asked Suhail. He read my message but didn't bother to reply.

He gets away with a hell of a lot in the shadows, more than anyone if you ask me.

Waggott has (for what it's worth) at least shown some willing to engage with fans.

  11. What a difference a few days make, that was spectacularly bad.

Honestly no idea what we were trying to achieve last night.

I guess the only positive is we (somehow) only conceded 1 goal.

Really doesn't bode well ahead of the Preston game, or the next few to be quite honest! I'll give Eustace a chance as granted he's not had much time to stamp his mark on things. I suppose we can't really play any worse than that so it can only get better, I think? Surely?

  12. Should be an interesting encounter, I think the result could set the tone for the next few weeks as well, a win really would be huge.

Truth being told, I think we completely surprised Stoke with our tactics on Saturday. If they'd done their homework based on JDT setting the team up, which they must have done given the timings, it's no wonder they were a bit baffled. Brum will have a bit more of an idea, although we're likely to change things up again with Eustace in full control.

Make no mistake though, a loss puts us back in the relegation mix. I fancy Hudds to pick up a point or 3 against Sunderland and can also see QPR beating Stoke. Brum have lost 3 on the bounce but all 3 came away from home, they're better at St Andys.

Going for an entertaining 2-2 Hedges and Szmodics bagging for us.

  13. I genuinely wasn't going to go yesterday had JDT still been there, no disrespect to him really I just couldn't bear watching more of the same.

New manager appeal swung it for me and I'm glad I did now.

Some really good performances across the pitch, notably McFadzean, actually I think I'll just call him McFadz it's easier. He was barking orders all game and really made an impression.

Whether there was an element of players trying to impress the new gaffer or not I don't know but they did seem like a bit of a weight had lifted off their shoulders.

A big swing on the stats yesterday, 37% possession and made it count. Number of passes was also hugely down on the QPR game. Not sure if it was a Johnson and Lowe decision to play this way or Eustace, but it was a welcome one.

i bet benson has been crawling and **** licking to try and make an impression on eustace,he`ll be parading up and down the touchline today like he`s in charge,if he`s relieved of his duties next week my opinion of eustace will go stratospheric😁

He gets a lot of stick Benson but honestly ask the players and staff about him. Apparently works every hour under the sun, first one to arrive and last to leave at Brockhall every day. He also does maintenance work because they won't pay anyone else to do it! Also pays for training equipment out of his own pocket which is quite frankly ridiculous, but hats off to him for doing it.

I think Eustace has made a good choice to come here.

All the carnage and chaos and ineptitude that is venkys basically makes this a free hit for him.

He was binned off by Birmingham totally undeserving of such a fate.

If he does well here he's done it with the odds against him, if he does shit then is it really his fault?

Agreed, his brief is obviously a simple one for now - avoid relegation. If he fails he blames what went on before him and the carnage in the background. It's almost the exact time Mowbray took over when he did in February  and ultimately we went down that season due to his predecessor.

If he keeps us up, he's probably secured a nice long contract and job that's his as long as he wants it....
