  1. Arsenal v Man Utd would have been nice. With luck, that will be a semi final, with Rovers v Newcastle/Spurs the other. Or am I getting ahead of myself?
  2. Speedie for me. Tenacious little bugger. That season was amazing. A proper rollercoaster ride, culminating in play-off glory at Wembley stadium, no less.
  3. The Scottish guy just keeps shouting over the top of the other one whenever he feels like it. I bet the other guy wants to belt him.
  4. You forgot: 9. Pay on the gate in attempt to shift unsold tickets.
  5. Well I don't think he'll be winning many more tin pots in Glasgow as long as O'Neill and McLeish remain in their respective roles. At least we got our £5m. That's what I asked for the second he handed in his request.
  6. Don't worry USA. We have had bragging rights for 26 years. It's only right and proper that we should have to defend them every now and again. It was a walk over last time. Have Burnley's squad got appreciably better since then? Has ours got that much worse? The worst I see happening is a draw and the Turd and back to Ewood to finish them off. Even a draw for Burnley would represent their best result against the Rovers for 26 years.
  7. No. Savage was suspended for Birmingham's third round game against Leeds if I recall correctly. Hang on. How can he possibly be cup-tied? He played on Saturday!
  8. Now then. The last time we met our dear neighbours in the FA Cup we made it all the way to the final.
  9. Dahlin: 6 from 15 (+14 sub appearances) at 0.21 goals per game Diawara: 1 from 2 (4) at 0.14 gpg Lardass: 2 from 18 (12) at 0.07 gpg Egil: 13 from 48 (33) at 0.16 gpg Not pretty, is it? Might I add... Corrado "Floppy haired Italian no-mark" Grabbi: 5 from 16 (15) at 0.16 gpg
  10. Bryan. I notice with interest that a certain Irish left-footer has been omitted, Trotsky-style, from Chelsea's midfield options.
  11. Perhaps he's implying that all Celtic fans are overweight.
  12. Absolutely. We'll have no M.O.R. faux-pop opera singers turning out in the blue and white halves while I'm a regular at Ewood Park.
  13. I don't know how you managed to convince yourself that there was contact. There is none clearly visible on any of the angles. It was not a clear goalscoring opportunity as the ball was going either out of play or so wide that he wouldn't have been able to slot it in. That's why he decided to go about impressing the judges.
  14. Well, now we know who wears the trousers at Jim's place.
  15. Indeed. At least one striker and a midfielder of better standard than those currently on the books need to be signed up in the next few days.
  16. Is that what they told you in the prospectus? And you believed them? You want a proper red-brick University, mate.
  17. The referee had already screwed up the first major decision of the evening before he awarded the penalty; the challenge from Nolan on Savage was x-rated and clearly warranted a red card.
  18. @#/? as he may be (disagree with that, myself), Mr Dickov stands head and shoulders above anyone else on the playing staff who has the nerve to describe themselves as a striker.
  19. That seems fair enough. But, if they do come up with the cash, we have little time to procure any kind of replacement (the money would be best spent on a striker, obviously).
  20. I believe that Ferguson expected Rangers to come in with a sensible bid. So far such a bid has not been forthcoming. There is no way that Ferguson would expect the board to accept the offer Rangers made. He's not "wilfully trying to rip off the club". He has told the board that he would like to move back to Rangers. That's all.
