Rovers Rumours & Speculation
Exiled_Rover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'd be amazed if we spent any money. Isn't the delayed court case now in August? They simply won't authorise any spending until that's resolved. -
John Eustace - our head coach

Chrisene, Moran and Buckley are all viable options to bring on. Personally I think Carter is significantly better than Hyam and S. Wharton too. The big problem with our subs bench is that we don't have either a goal scorer or pace to bring on (we don't have either in the staring XI either beyond Szmodics). -

Agreed, I'm a big fan of JDT, but we were down if he stayed. The QPR game was the final straw for me - he was just being arrogant and stubborn and refusing to adjust his tactics for the squad of players he had available and sadly he'd lost the dressing room. I think he'll go on to achieve good things in the game (more than Eustace will), but his relationship here had soured. -
Dilan Markanday.. potential talent or ?
Exiled_Rover replied to NeilInBristol's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Did a good job defensively and put himself about. Was poor in attack though. -
We're not - the difference is we're in the Championship, so our Academy graduates are good enough to play for the first team. The PL teams were much, much better than the standard on show at Ewood these days.

The strike where a World Class player curled it across the GK into the top corner?

He's not being asked to do as much. It suits his limited game. -

That's the issue, isn't it - and has been all season. Southampton made 5 subs. We made 1 forced change due to injury and Eustace clearly didn't want to risk bringing a sub on in the last 10-15 minutes when everyone was playing well (if fatigued). -

Baseball is an occasion, not a sport. I went to a Yankees - Red Sox game a couple of years ago. People started leaving towards the end of the 7th inning, having spent most of the time ignoring the game and just chatting / eating food with their friends. -
The same as every EFL club? The system is slanted so that the PL clubs can steal our Academy players for pennies on the dollar if they identify them early enough.
-
Yeah, relegation for them was disastrous - it absolutely wasn't in any of their contingency plans.
-
I imagine it's the opposite - he's retired so he's simply stopped being paid and his contract has been terminated. If he expects the contract paid up I'd fine him every time he misses a (gruelling) rehab appointment.
-
Hasn't Fleck retired?

Before Adam Wharton. After Adam Wharton. He really, sadly, is that good. -
Renown talent factory? But they've literally bought him from someone else's Academy (and first team) and you've said as such in the headline. I don't care enough about that poxy club to research whether they bought Olise and Eze too, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Pears/ Kaminski.. summer plans?

Not, if possible, it needs to be a priority. -

You'd have been livid if that header had gone in. -

£22.2m in, £1.28m spent. Tells it's own story before you delve into the wage budget being slashed by approx. 20%. -

We went away to Boro, who have won 4 of their last 6 (with 2 draws against us and Southampton), and completely neutered them. We had 2 good goals chalked off against Ipswich and they only scored because our GK is shite. -

Exiled_Rover replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We definitely watch different games. We nullified Boro away, we played Ipswich off the park on Friday and we've hammered Sunderland today. We're no longer exciting to watch, but we're much more solid. -
They've just taken 6 points from 2 games when they deserved, at best, 1. That's luck.
-
Yeah, one of the worst teams to come to Ewood this season - didn't have a sniff. Clearly they're an incredibly lucky team.

I think if JRC was just less injury prone he'd be playing in the PL. Chrisene made a massive difference at LB - Pickering's lack of pace was killing us.
