No Lee Grooby either, I called him a cult just the other night. Paid him a tenner I owed him from last season on wednesday night. You should have seen the smile on his face ! I did, I was stood next to him. It was his round at the bar as well. Cheers Brownie

He was seen whispering to Dean Saunders behind the BRIC yesterday evening. It was almost in a conspiratory fashion.

There was one in Mellor at roughly the same time. Only for about 15 mins. -

Mourinho always strikes me as the kind of guy that was in 'Sleeping with the Enemy" - a kind of obsessive psycho type. I'm sure he's not though. -
Ian Pearce?!?! Only one medal? Wow!

We had a similar situation last seaon and nothing came of it. We'll see. *Well a couple of years ago, as I have just read in the post-match discussion thread. See for more details*

I met a lovely young lady called Katie Gallacher last time. And I think that I covered more of the pitch at the final whistle than Yorke did during the match. -

In that case I apologise. I must have misunderstood your post. It was 02:55 and I had been on the Carlsberg Export since 7pm. I'm amazed my post wasn't more like Blueboy's legendary efforts. But then again, I've always done my best writing whilst drunk. That's what 4 years at Uni teaches you. -

You may mock my "academic response" to your point. I made my point of view known and I make no apologies for my tone. If your an academic basher that's your bag. I however stand by my completely valid view point and it seems to be mirrored by many on this site. I have no issue with you and your views but I don't expect to be dismissed merely on the fact that many of my points are based in academia rather than a Blackburn lad point of view. I am from Blackburn, I love my team and my country yet you dismiss my argument because I balance my argument with what I've learnt outside b'burn town centre. And to completely counteract your point, PATRIOTISM has everything to do with it. Please see my earlier post. And I think that I've earnt enough respect not to be patronised like that. I look forward to a reasonable, valid debate in the future. With respect JonnyH PS: I apologise my dismissive sentence of "pointless thread", although I stand by my balanced support theory and my previous posts. It was wrong however to dismiss an argument. So the fact that attendances at Ewood are on the decline whilst interest in football in general is rising is pointless? Just because there are more people watching England in pubs does not mean that the interest in football has increased. It is the mentality of the nation, the media driven euphoria of nationalistic identity embodied in a sporting event. I bet that if you watch an England friendly in a pub there would not be the same number of people by a long way. People go to watch the games in the pub to join in with the atmosphere of the competition and International tournbaments provide that atmosphere. It is not a reflection on the trend of football's popularity in the area. It is merely a measure of the scope to which people affected by the atmosphere of the tournament. I remember watching the curling final in the Winter Olympics. I never thought of myself as a Rhona Martin fan. It was a social fad and nothing more. Exactly like what you describe seeing in the pub, though on a much larger scale. -

Lucky that I'm not so emotionally lop-sided that I can support both my team and my country with passion and pride. Pointless thread. -

From Uefa.com "The tough midfielder talks as he plays and once said of his Real No10 shirt: "I am less of a winger than a No10 - and no one is going to take it off me, not even Maradona."

I'm sure your source is sure of their information, but all evidence is pointing away from that fact. Thank you -

What gives people the impression that a ) the club arranged for the news to come out this week/ at all b ) they're happy to see it out in the news this week/ at all c ) the quotes were actually taken this week Andy Neild could have been sitting on the quotes for ages. It staggers me that people assume that the LET functions on instructions from the club. Believe me it's not always the case. -
He showed some good touches in the half hour or so I saw him. Good to see Henning get the recognition he deserves for his 100 caps.
