Why are we still talking about Maddison? We haven't been linked with him once!
-
Depends how you read it, looks like a load of gobbledygook to me. Certainly doesn't suggest that we're in for him.

Why no official announcement about Armstrong signing?
Because he hasn't signed.

I reckon we'll still be talking about whether Armstrong is joining us or not on Thursday.

Have I missed something?
Nixon reckons Armstrong is as good as signed.
As it's come from him, I have to say I don't believe it for a second.
Fully expect Rich Sharpe to come out this morning denying everything about it!

Logic points to a draw, but I think we can start off here with a win, would be our first on the opening day since those idiots rocked up.
Can only remember one win down there in my time following Rovers, which was back when we won the league in 94-95.

I thought they were going on ifollow for uk subscribers ?
They are, but part of the deal is that Sky are allowed to show all Championship midweek games too.
Not everyone who subscribes to Sky has ifollow, and vice versa.

I said before, but I don't think the club got it either, hence placing "AgentBenno" on a loan signing rather than one of the two that the whole thing relates too.
-
Doesn't look like Armstrong and Chapman are happening if you take that sentence at face value then, although deep down I think we all knew they wouldn't happen anyway!

Glad to have Palmer on a season long deal but wow how anti climatic is that.. All that for a loan? .. Using agent Benno they must of known we as fans would of been thinking Armstrong and or Chapman?
I honestly don't think they did.
-
Really glad Palmer is a season long loan though.

Ryan Grant has just tweeted that nothing else is happening today.
I really don't think the media department understood the "agent Bennett" thing did they?!

Yeah, but his bio says he is a Middlesbrough and England footballer. Somewhat confusing.
I'm guessing that is because at the moment, he is a Middlesbrough and England footballer.

Could one be Chapman... ?

Anyway, Bennett is on the media team this week. The official account just tweeted something along the lines of "busy week aged, new recruit to the media team". I like the idea of this. Really cool.
I imagine that will be to do with all the media, press conferences, interviews etc leading up to the first game of the season rather than any potential incomings. Apart from the ones that might come in on loan of course.

Ricky: was a little bit ironic that time because off all the frustration here. Will keep calm now. Enjoy the season'!
As exciting as this could potentially be, its certainly not going to make our season.
At least 3 permenent signings are needed on top of this.
-
Certainly beats Rakeem Harper this time last year.
Always said we should only be signing players like this if they are a genuine cut above what we already have.
-
"Keeping there powder dry" is my guess as there wasn't any "value for money" signings out there.
Predictable unfortunately.

Worrying. Seems we're constantly retreating from Mowbray's early hopes and now we're setting the bar at 3 of which a couple will be loans.
I'll be worried when Mowbray comes out with the generic, stock statement of "this is the best squad I have had since I have been here" that we have heard so many times before from previous managers, right before everything goes tits up.

Probably Venkys.

This whole suggested scenario sounds unbelievable and silly.
Agreed. Absolutely nothing has happened at this club in the last 8 years to even entertain something so unbelievable and silly.
Oh.

Corry Evans. I think it shows you exactly what sort of character/player he is when his only good games for the club were against the likes of Walsall & Peterbrough in the third division whilst we're charging for promotion.
Awful player, and no wonder you never see him linked away. Salford City wouldn't even take him on.

So, getting out of the third division by ‘winning and scoring goals’ against very poor teams with small budgets doesn’t change anything now we are back in a highly competitive league and I see no evidence that the owners approach has changed one iota from when we last operated at Championship level.
It's a lot easier/cheaper to build a good third division team rather than a good second division team these days.
Venkys will never, ever make us competitive outside of the third division. It baffles me that people still cant see it.

I think it's clear from Mowbrays comments after the lincoln game that theres nothing happening on the transfer front.
Imagine saying in May that we would start the new season weaker than we ended the previous, even the most negative of folk wouldnt have had that.
Why do we concede so many last minute goals?

To put this mass hysteria of today into context, in Tony Mowbrays 62 league games in charge (including today), we have conceded 6 last minute goals that were winners/equalisers for the other team. I wouldn't say that was too bad to be honest.
