My friends son is over and back to Gillingham on trials.  His father saw it in some WhatsApp group to do with this.

Where was he linked with them? I hadn't heard of him before yesterday to be honest

Granted, not the most reputable source for transfers, when I saw the links it prompted me to have a little look at him as I'd never heard of him either, then you post about him, strange coincidence!

Straight into the first team where? 2 wingers, yes. A centre midfielder and arguably a striker. Where do you get 5?

I'd say we need a tough experienced championship central defender, a central midfielder who can get about and pick a pass, two wingers and a centre forward. I'd also be looking at a keeper and a right back to fill the squad out if budget allows.

  3. I think that's a great credit to him, he could easily be out on the piss every night and worry about his fitness when pre season comes around.

Shows that he wants to make that central striker role his own, whether he is good enough I'm not sure but you cant fault him for the extra miles he appears to be putting in.

  4. I really dislike the "we must know everything now" era that we now appear to live in.

How on earth did folk go on before the days of message boards/social media etc?

Time will tell what Mowbray does/doesn't have to spend, once we get into June the window will start going crazy no doubt.

Let's all go out, enjoy the sunshine, watch some of the world cup and meet up here on 1st July to see what has happened, no?

  5. The sensible way to recruit would be to try and identify some of the better players in this division who are hungry to make the step up, and a couple of experienced championship players who have been around the block a bit and know the league.

Oh, and if that Oldham right back who Mowbray was terrified of back in Feb isn't our first signing then I for one will be extremely disappointed.

    No premiership pledge ... I’m out ?

    Haha.

The cynic in me says that the club threw that offer in because they knew damn well that there was no chance of us going up under Bowyer/Coyle, but now we appear to be moving in the right direction, under a decent manager all it takes is to sneak into 6th then a bit of luck in the play offs and all of a sudden you are up, they won't want to risk offering that this year just incase this "momentum" that everyone in the club is banging on does take us up again.

  7. Urgh Bolton. Think we have lost every game there since 2010 (6 out of 6) yet prior to that they hadn't beat us there since 2000 (played 11, won 5, drawn 6)

Leaving a total record at the Reebok of played 19, won 5, drawn 6, lost 8.

Horrible place, was really hoping Burton would stay up.

    Everyone but our chadster!

Obviously i don't know you from Adam, but going off your posts as a passionate Blue, i imagine you don't really have a limit either?!

For me, It will cost me £380 this season for me and my 8 year old lad, we dont make every game and rarely go midweek, but its a no brainer compared to walk on prices. The only year i havent had a season ticket since the late 80's was under Coyle, and i ended up spending nearly twice as much on match tickets throughout the season.

I think the club have missed a trick in some areas, and would be amazed if we hit 10k ST holders, but for me personally its still a good deal.

Saw a rumour on Facebook that Rovers are planning to have away fans in the top tier of the Darwen End next season.

Might be rollocks, but if they did you imagine they must have some imaginative pricing up their sleeve if they are intending Rovers fans to be across the whole lower tier.

Interesting that it looks as they are selling tickets in the entire lower tier for Oxford...

Not a chance we will do that.

Unlike in this division there will be quite a few games where away fans will have the whole Darwen End I'm guessing, could easily see Villa, PNE, Leeds, WBA, Stoke, Middlesborough, both Sheffield clubs having demand for it,  maybe even the likes of Derby and Forest if they were having good seasons when we play them.
