  1. Parson watches a lot of our academy matches and has a very positive attitude to our young players. He has doubts about Brereton. If he, who is encouraging of our youth, thinks Brereton probably won't cut the mustard, then I suspect he won't. I saw Brereton myself at St James Park and wasn't impressed with the look of him but I wouldn't judge him on that alone. However, I do have to say that I felt he didn't even show desire let alone ability that day.
  2. No, it's not just you. If they do a job for us I don't care if they were born and bred in Burnley, went on to score loads of goals for them, got them promoted or whatever. It's not about what you've done for other clubs. It's what you do for us
  3. Then you should qualify it as your opinion instead of simply dismissing it out of hand as though you knew
  4. I haven't said I think it will, but you were very definite it wouldn't.
  5. Can I ask what you're prepared to do if it does happen?
  6. I wouldn't either but my daughter works in sport and is married to a Burnley fan so she did
  7. My daughter and her friend, who lived in Waddington got invited for a drink and a biscuit by LeSaux when they were playing in the stream by his house. Roy Hodgson used to live in the same road as daughters friend behind the lower buck. And henning Berg lived in a flat just up from Clitheroe library while Damien Johnson lived in chatburn. Nowadays they do live further afield though
  8. Hale, Boden etc ain't that far from Blackburn. Saw a couple of Burnley players and Jordan Pickford in Altrincham Market Hall recently
  9. They didn't exist when I was a kid there. They're a fairly recent invention
  10. Northumberland is a long way from Teesside! Try North Yorkshire moors or Yarm in Tees dale . That's where Boro footballers tend to live
  11. I come from Normanby, on Teesside. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. My dad was born in South Bank, which, whilst it has improved in that they've knocked down the slums, is still the pits
  12. For me, with the number of games I miss, next year will be the first time in a long time I'll find a ST good value as I'll be a senior! Lol
  13. Better area too. I know those who live here don't rate it but the Boro really isn't attractive and nor are places like South Bank, North Ormesby or other places close by.
  14. They'll eat a team will they? Now that's true dedication lol
  15. If it were as simple as cut prices or even just hold them steady at below inflation rises everyone would be doing it. It's more about value for money so it's a blend of right price structure and standard and style of play. When you get it right people come. It's not just the play or the players or why would lower division clubs sell any other than the handful who go out of blind loyalty and habit. It's more about the whole match day package nowadays with other entertainments vying with football for our cash so things like ease of parking, the standard of catering, the availability of a decent place to get a drink or 2 before the match, speed of getting away from the ground afterwards and all sort of other factors come into play.
  16. If its cold his hamstring will go again
  17. Or he might just be meeting him for coffee on his day off?
  18. Who knows? It's all kicked off on the basis of one photo
  19. It seems to me that some have forgotten that for a large part of his tenure Mowbray has been rebuilding not just the team but the club, the fans, the morale around the whole place. He is almost single handedly responsible for our club no longer being one of the laughing stocks of the league and instead being a team other teams are wary of playing. That doesn't make him immune from criticism, but it does buy him a lot 9f goodwill that other recent managers may not have enjoyed.
  20. In most people's opinion on both sides of the brexit divide by all accounts
  21. If we brought him in why the heck would it be to loan him out?
  22. Nixon said it was a journalist/agent thing. To stir up interest in players, say 3 clubs are interested. Means it's usually a load of rubbish
  23. I'd say, whilst we're always only a second away from a Venkys moment of madness, the feeling among fans is that we have a manager we can generally trust and a team of players who try to play even if their ability is limited
