Someone who's main priority every season isn't simply to keep us in the Premiership. Someone who can get the best out of our players, as I believe we have some serious quality. Someone with massive ambitions.

I miss the news for a single day and this happens. I'm in a bit of shock right now, I definitely wasn't expecting this. Souness wasn't doing that good this season but I thought we were gonna keep him for longer. But what has really surprised me is that we haven't sacked him, he's simply gone for the lure of the bigger club. Very disappointing. He achieved some great things with Rovers, so still I wish him all the best with Newcastle. Just not on Saturday ofcourse.

With Cole and Yorke gone now this will put alot of pressure on Stead. Dickov is a very hard working player but he won't be a top scoring-goal machine, so it's up to Stead to get us the goals.

Sounds interesting. Alot of "rejects" have done very well, let's hope he's one of them.

Jansen was such a great player, I thought he would be a top striker and England regular one day. I'm very sad for what has happened to him. If he does leave, I wish him all the best.

No. Way. 93rd minute..................93...... To be fair, we rarely got out of our own penalty area in the 2nd half, United were on the attack non-stop. We would have lost heavily if it wasn't for Brad, who produced some stunning saves. However, we showed that we could hang on and get the 3 points. The ref cost us the game once again. and again and again and again....will it ever stop ? Clear handball by Saha, it should have been a freakick. Also I'm not sure Amoruso deserved to be sent off, but that diving b@****d Ronaldo certainly did. 1-1 against United is not a bad result, but it's a massive blow to lose the win in the 93rd minute

Fantastic goal by Dickov, and he's giving it his all again. I'm liking this player more and more. Great signing. Both teams are making some mistakes, Unites seem to have some misunderstandings at the back which is good for us. Ronaldo is annoying - he's falling to the ground every time he doesn't win the ball. But United did create some dangerous chances, and Brad produced 2 great saves. Sad for Thommo, but Emerton isn't playing too bad for now. Pedersen seems promising. We need to get a 2nd though. C'MON ROVERS !

I don't see how we'll get anything from this game. Even if we play great in defence they'll still sneak in a goal or two, it can't be stopped. Stead can't do everything upfront, he needs support and it's not coming from anywhere. Maybe Yorke will be really fired up for this game, he should get some playing time. But 2-1 win for United is the most I see right now. Hopefully I'm wrong, cause 3 defeats in a row speaks for itself really.

I'm sad to say it but yeah if in the next 3-4 games we're still getting bad results it's his time to go. And he'll need something special now to turn it around.

No, it just doesn't work vs Arsenal. As I expected, they came out firing in the 2nd half, and didn't matter how hard we tried we just weren't good enough to stop them. Henry's first goal was our fault though - two defenders couldn't keep up with him. Their second was bad marking as well. 3rd one - Brad produced a brilliant save vs Henry, but we couldn't get it out and Reyes got an easy goal. Still we tried hard, but unfortunately that counts for nothing and we have 1 point from 3 games. And ofcurse the usual incident happened when we had a clear-as-day penalty when Dickov was obviously pushed in the box, but since we're Blackburn Rovers we didn't get it. It's getting pointless even protesting now. SOUNESS DO SOMETHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!

0-0 HT, Excellent job so far. We're playing well considering it's vs Arsenal. Arsenal have a little bit more posession and have come close, but our defence is doing really well. Brad hasn't had to produce world-class saves yet, but he is still very commanding in the area and stopping everything. Dickov and Stead or doing good upfront, Dickov almost sneaked in a goal. We had a few other very good chances but no luck. I'm very happy with the 0-0 so far, but once Arsenal step it up a gear in the 2nd the goals will come. Hopefully we'll produce a reply.

Was just about to post about Cole too. Nothing against the guy, but I can't help but feel frustrated after what happened to us today and he's banging them in for Fulham already.

I wonder what was so terribly wrong with De Pedro that they had to play Matteo at LM ? Also Flitcroft did nothing at RM either.

Gutted. This was such an important game, and we got nothing out of it. In the 2nd half were better for the 1st half of it, great goals by Ferguson and Dickov. Dickov really impressed me, he definitely works very hard. Could have had a penalty too. Stead came very, very close again, and had a good game overall. Saint's second goal was pretty good to be fair, Brad couldn't have saved that. And than that was that incident 12 min from time when the ball looked sure that it was gonna go in for us, I was about to start celebrating Dickov's second goal but somehow it stayed out. (cough Lady Luck cough). We could have won it right there and then. Saints wanted the 3rd though and maybe we should have gone a bit more attacking ourselves, isntead of trying to hang on. The penalty was non-existant, but than again every now and then you get lucky with penalties. That is ofcourse, unless you're Blackburn Rovers. It's a devestating way to lose, but it's not surprising. So we've missed an easy 6 points from out first 2 games (easy in terms of our next opponments), and now we have to get the points against Arsenal, ManUn, and Newcastle. Speaks for itself really. btw yeah that was a really unfair comment greggyk. Not all of us have the opportunity to be living in England, doesn't make us less of a fan.

For the first 30 min we played well, Stead almost scored a great goal and we had more possession, but didn't use it. Than in the last 15 min our defence were crap again - Phillips goal could have easily been prevented if Emerton had actually covered him instead of doing nothing. Johansson made some bad mistakes as well. Gray and Yorke are playing well, but again Yorke is getting alot of bad offside calls against him. We must get the goals in the 2nd half. Get Shearer on.

I know it's only the second game of the season, but surely this is a must win. There is a very good chance we might not get anything from our following 3 games, so we'll be starting the season bottom of the table and in an uphill climb already. But hopefully we'll get the win now and get some confidence. Saints 0-2 Rovers (Yorke, Stead)

Maybe it's not against world-class sides, but still it's great that we didn't concede a single goal throughout the tournamanet. Even without Brad (why isn't he playing btw?), so this shows that hopefully we've fixed the problems at the back which cost us so much last season. Things are looking up...

Cole was our best player last season, it's disappointing to see him go. We don't have a big name forward anymore. Jansen/Gally/Dickov may or may not do well, but somehow I'll doubt they'll get alot of goals. So hopefully Stead will continue his goal-spree from last season, or else we're in trouble upfront. Still, I thought Cole did well at Rovers, I wish him the best of luck at Fulham (not against us though)
