Storey looks one for the future and the lad they got from Oxford looks a good player. Their left back has gone to Cardiff. My point was they are actively pursuing their targets and getting them. Mowbray wants 5 players in by next Sunday so they can bond with the squad in Austria. He needs to get a move on.
Yes he would like them in but if we dont we dont. Mowbray will get the right players in. If it take to time then so be it.
I wouldnt have any of PNE signings but I dont know much about them

Haha.
Mowbray and his recruitment team have been busy. These deals take a while to get sorted. Why the negative vomments.
58 minutes ago, Ladyboys of Bank Top said:From Keifer Sutherland to Keefer Moore! I rate him as a target man. Not sure about his prowess in front of goal, but as battering ram setting up the likes of Dack, Armstrong or whoever I think he'd be very good.
Dont know much about it.
Rotherham are after him.

Very good news. His experience and knowledge at Championship will be good asset to us.
Nothing negative at all about this.

Barnsley have turned down bids from 2 Championship clubs for striker Moore.
Could be Rovers be one of these clubs? Anyone heard owt linking us to him

But FFP? Perhaps Waggott and Venkys could go and have a word with them at Forest and find out how to do it.
Is agent Mendes involved in this transfer?

North End have just made their 3rd signing of the summer. Have Tony and Steve gone back on holiday?
Would you have wanted us sign any of them here?
Havent they just sold one of their best player to Cardiff?

Only if the loan players brought in are of sufficient quality to make an impact with the first team.
I don't want to see raw youngsters like Harper being brought in who sit on our bench and only get 5 or 10 minutes of action every now and again.
From the outside looking in it appears that Mowbray doesn't have much faith in our own crop coming through. The likes of Tomlinson has been in and around the first team squad for a couple of seasons now and if Mowbray doesn't believe him or others are good enough then they should be loaned out or sold
Thats why I said good loans. Not sure who would be good PL loan player tbf.
Is Tomlinson ready for Championship? Not sure maybe loan move for half of the season
I expect Travis to be around the 1st team squad.

Mowbray on Loan players and Premier League clubs see Rovers as a great platform.
Hope we can get a couple of good loans in before start of the season

Whilst you are right @chaddyrovers that we can only sympathise with Bruce regarding his sad personal circumstances. On a totally seperate note his signingw have been in the main poor and the gamble of money he spent has now backfired, regardless of previous managers.
Also signed Hogan, Bjarnason, Neil Taylor, probably 1 or 2 more and they havent really worked out.
I would agree most of signings have not work out

IF ALL YOU ARE POSTING IS A LINK, PUT IT IN THE THREAD TITLED "LINKS".
It may be me, if it is I admit it's being done wrong. But it seems so, so simple to me.
Fair enough JB. No problem
I post the links on the link thread. Then a quick summary on here.

60k a week for John Terry, 50k for Micah Richards, 50k for Agbonlahor, 40k for Lansbury, 40k Jedinak, 40k James Chester, they were paying 40k a week of Snodgrass’ wages. Hutton 30k a week, Kodja 30k, they brought in Chris Samba. It goes on and on.
An enormous squad with easily the biggest wage bill in the division. So yeah a ‘huge budget’.
Only Samba, Snodgrass, Lansbury and Terry are his signings.
McCormack is on about 60 k isnt he?

Bruce walking away would be the easy option. He had a very good budget last season and while he was there. He also signed loads of players on loan. Not getting that squad promoted is a failure and it’s his failure. The chairman deserves credit for backing him, if anything.
That being said, I rate the guy as a manager and he has a good record, but like anyone, he’s not above criticism.
I wouldnt blame him for walking for family reasons. Cant be easy losing both parents within such short space of time.
But Villa has wasted of money on players. Some of money being spent there on wages are far too much.
1 hour ago, Ladyboys of Bank Top said:So it was Venkys who got us promoted and not Mowbray?
Mowbray got us promoted but Venkys back Mowbray plan.
2 hours ago, islander200 said:Are you saying Bruce didn't have a huge budget? The owner authorised the signings but surely it was Bruce who chose the players.
He hasnt spend loads of money compare to previous managers like Di Matteo. Spend money on rubbish players.

But he has to accept his responsibility in the mess as he was the manager with a huge budget and allowed to sign players and take in expensive loans. He failed to get them promoted and now it looks like he will conveniently hide behind the off the field stuff. He has walked away before several times and has had nine managers jobs in eighteen years.
Sorry but the owner is at fault he authorised the loan deals and transfers.
Huge budget?

I thought he would from the moment the final whistle went against Fulham. He has a history of walking away from clubs and my guess is he will use the financial problems as an excuse. And he will be back on the merry-go-round in no time at all.
Cant blame him tbh..
Its a mess at Villa and the personal issues he had to deal with during the season. Maybe it time for a proper break and some family time

Here's the link to the Sky Sports News article: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11725/11402674/duane-holmes-attracting-interest-from-rotherham-blackburn-and-derby
In response to the height question, he is 5ft 6in tall.
If we are looking at him, I wonder if it is a possible alternative or replacement to Jack Payne?
Birmingham Live also linking us with David Cotterill who only managed 3 games in 6 months in India following his release from Birmingham.
Think this is probably agent talk though as he doesn't fit the profile of that Mowbray said he was looking for a few weeks back. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/birmingham-city-transfers-championship-sunderland-14775084Links should be only posted in Transfer link thread as I was told yesterday by @J*B

How much do people reckon we will spend on transfer fees? I am going to go out on a limb here and say between 3-5 million.
Anyone care to take that bet?
I think there is money to spend.
I expect us to try to sign Armstrong permanent. Expect Mowbray to try to sign Chapman.
Holmes look good in playoffs for Scunthorpe.

Thursday deadline.

Graham Burke? didn't cut it at Villa.
the other 2 signings aren't great and shows the PNE policy.
don't see them improving the PNE 1st 11 but squad players next season for them
fair enough. expect him to join Rotherham
both should be given 4 years contract
what disagreement? I used Mowbray previous comments about the age bracket he was looking at. That's what I used to suggestion some possible signings.
I amazed that you are really disappointed Conway got a new deal.
Here is Mowbray's reasons for keeping him and his role for next season(similar to my opinion of his role). http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16290061.Tony_Mowbray_on_why_Craig_Conway_was_offered_new_Rovers_deal/?ref=mac
You 3 reasons are laughable as I've seen Conway played lots last season, the other 2 reasons are just bizarre.
Yes I did watch that TV show. it is very bonkers and so much going on.
I don't see Forest challenging for top 6 this season anyway.
