I thought he was really poor for us, but maybe he just didn't fit our system.

When I've seen him play for Huddersfield he just seems to get his head down and whip balls into the box. Admittedly we only had Gallagher in the box for him to aim at, but he rarely did that for us.

Maybe sign a good striker or 2 where Thomas can get the ball in the box quicker and we can score.

We need 2 strikers signings in the summer

In the final season, he wasnt backed at all. He had to sell Armstrong and that summer was all loans and Edun for a nominal fee. Then in January, he spent another nominal fee on Hedges, a couple of loans and Markanday for 500k who instantly tore his hamstring and missed the rest of the season.

The death spirals are a result of us constantly having thin/young squads and never getting backed in January, regardless of manager.

Maybe Mowbray should have loan a striker or used Ryan Giles properly

Never said you said it would. Point is if he is fit enough to warm up with the first team but didn't play, he really should be in the u21s the next day. Not going to develop just doing training and warm ups.

    It's a fair point

I thought he did ok after a very shaky first 10 minutes. Has he been seen since ?

No. Just on the bench and warm ups. Pointless loan tbh

Not exactly a ringing endorsement then is it surely if you're pitching cheaper prices to Waggot and co it has to be justified by more than a shrug of the shoulders.

Lower prices makes it more affordable for people. Look at yesterday 15 pounds a ticket and people buy. Similar with ST plus get them on sale early around February or March time.

I'd be happy starting Brittain, Hyam, Carter, JRC, Tronstad and Szmodics each week in a good Championship team.

So realistically you're looking for 6 new starters. 7, really, because you know Szmodics is being sold this summer.

I think S. Wharton, Leonard, Buckley / Travis / Garrett (don't think you'd keep all 3), Hedges, Dolan and Pickering have value as squad players.

That's why JDT struggled at the end and why Eustace hasn't been able to do more than stem the bleeding.

I think Eustace rated about 16 players in this squad and you can see that when you look at his team selections and subs. It going to busy summer of transfers in and out for sure

If someone offers £15m for Szmodics you'd be mad not to sell.

I think someone will offer £8m and we'll hurry him out the door.

if we set that valuation on him then we won't shift from that.

i`de be looking at the lad from blackpool, dembele, looks a level above where he`s playing, though concern would be why he can`t seem to get a game at his parent club brest,in the french 2nd division

I would be looking Reading players Femi Azeez and Harvey Knibbs

Got out of wrong side of bed wtf chaddy????

No i ain't.....  just sick of this prick manager . Worse than Jim Iley .

Leaving 5 defenders on when losing last week , 5 defenders when we WOULD be safe  , leaving a striker on the bench , 7 points clear when he took over , 13 points above weds, smiling in a presser after such a huge loss, no wins at home ( bollox he won at home) , happy clappers clapping piss poor shite..

No I didn't get outta fucking bed the wrong way , I'm sick of this dumbing down mediocre bollox .

ok Abbey, each to their own opinions. we don't agree and won't. Best to leave it there

Why do you defend this far tosser?

yet again, nowhere have I defend him. I am the one of us who has commented on season tickets and match day prices need to be much lower, better commercial operation need from us, Sponsorship around Ewood Park none existent, better shirt sponsor, catering at Ewood Park.

    so you are wrong again

Appreciate you want to be optimistic, I really do.

But, given how much of our recent big sales has gone back into replacing them, I probably wouldn’t hold your breath.

apart from Armstrong sale 3 seasons ago we haven't had a big sale and we all knew that had to go towards FFP rules.

Wharton deal was only confirmed last day of the window, so lets if we reinvested some of it the way GB would like to.

I’ve never had a season ticket. It never made sense as I couldn’t get to enough games to make it viable. If it wasn’t for my grandson and my desire to pass on the Rovers baton I’d be boycotting myself. I only go infrequently these days and even then I only go to keep him going.

    fair enough.

Thats what a functional, well run club would do. It will not happen here.

Its my opinion of what I would like us to do come the summer and beyond from GB post transfer interview. Lets see what happens this summer.

  11. 22 minutes ago, JHRover said:

Yes I know. So why can't we?

I want the same and to implement the plan GB mentioned in his interview with Radio Lancs and LT in March.

my plan based on GB interview would be

We brought in money from Wharton sale and Raya sell on clause so lets say it is £25m for this scenario.

You can spend £7m for the summer transfer budget, add £2m to the wage budget for next season and the season after. So that's £11m then spend 3m on improve the club academy facilities and first team facilities. then save £3m for next January window. So that's, £17m spent whilst reducing the season debt by £8m.

If we sold Szmodics for £15m then I would spend £7m of that aswell plus add £3m to the January budget

    Question for you chaddy..

You say you can't play 2 cbs against 2 strikers, pray tell how many cbs played when we won the league against 2 strikers every week.

I was talking about the game situation and why we didn't want leave us 2 on 2 at the back whilst pushing forward for the win

    2 hours ago, ABBEY said:

Why should we play to what they was playing , we was at home and WE should be dictating things .

Noone on the halfway line against 10 get someone on the line and take 2 of their 10 out the box .

We did dictated the game Abbey. 30 shots at goal, created some good chances like Szmodics chance first half, Gallagher header second half, Gallagher last minute effort second half, Dolan hitting the post,

Stop defending a winless home record under useless.

    Won the Stoke game

    2 hours ago, ABBEY said:

Go on why with 10 men would you bring a defender on in a game we needed to win to be safe . Why not a striker ?

Chrisene is attacking wing back who has pace and can put a good ball into the box. It wasn't a defensive change but attacking change.

I said I would have took Dolan off with 10 mins to go for Telalovic and play 2 up front with Szmodics just off in 3-4-1-2 formation.

I was reading a lot of Coventry fans comments after the game yesterday. Disappointed that they have fallen short in the playoff chase and technically regressed in League position having gone to penalties in the final last season, but generally a lot of confidence and belief in a process there and that with more investment in the summer they'll be in the promotion race next season.

No talk on there about selling star players before this season has even finished..

Something to believe in and hope for the future.

    Us?

How much we'll get for Szmodics and which youngsters on loan. How exciting.

People need something to believe in. Most of what goes on at Rovers is unbelievable.

Coventry sold their best 2 players last summer in Hamer and Gyrokers then reinvested the money into Simms, Wright, etc

I agree. Nothing will change until there is a total boycott. That is obvious.

and what is going to achieve Tyrone? are you Season ticket holder? if not when was the last time you attend a game?

    1 hour ago, tomphil said:

No, we should do a season ticket deal like Bolton or Preston.

    The evidence is outstanding.

I have already posted my opinion on what ST should cost from next season, Rovers should charged £199 for Riverside, £249 for BBE and lower JW, £280 for JW upper wing and £330 for JW upper centre. What do you think of those prices?
