you said before we wouldn't get 20m for Wharton but we did
Szmodics is on a long term contract and I do we would be asking for 15m plus given he is prime of his career, scored 30 goals and is the heartbeat of our team
-
I would be looking at Joe Taylor who is striker on loan at Lincoln from Luton. He scored goals at league 1 level since January and league 2 in the first part of the season. He would probably cost £2m. His finishing reminds me of Jordan Rhodes tbh

for me, I much prefer JRC in centre midfield role and think him and Tronstad are a good partnership in there.

would be smart signing and can play either wing.

won't Peterborough be in the playoffs? not going up automatic are they?

The ITV show started off like they gave a shit, not as good as the Colin Murray show, largely because you could tell he actually cared about the football pyramid unlike the fella from talksport they now use.
However, now they don’t even bother with guests or a studio… presumably because they are soon out of contract with the EFL and won’t be renewing it - BBQ! (Bring Back Quest)
They don't have guests or Studio down to cost and running it as low cost show.
Sky would be better doing it and having a proper highlights with guests and interviews with managers. They already do 15 minutes highlights of championship on Sunday morning
-
I wonder whether Sky will shown the highlights next season and made it available on their Sky mix channel on freeview?
ITV coverage of EFL this season isn't good enough for me. Its rushed

City won't lose this. Pep is too good to let it slip through his fingers.

why? They will shed loads of cash for going down.

Palace deserved this win for me, yes Liverpool have had some chances but very poor finishing cost them, Palace should have score 3 or 4 in the first half.

Moyes's teams have always been the same. He ain't changing. I listened to Rio Ferdinand talk about his time at United and the way he was as United Manager
Hope he is ok

Andersen at centre back was deserved man of the match. He was outstanding

Dolan will be useful squad player but not a regular starter. Not for a team with any mbition, which I suppose we aren't.
Hyam does make a few mistakes, not just against Bristol City. Like most of our squad, he's inconsistent (although usually better than most)
We have to disagree on Dolan and Hyam.

What we need and what we can afford will be two completely different things. I would settle for a good keeper, and one effective winger, be it left or right.
Not a quality striker?.

Question marks because Hyam is prone to some poor mistakes.
As good as his pass for the winner was yesterday, Dolan is a 1 good game in 5 player. He is improving, and if he'll sign a new deal, he'll be handy to have around. Feel like we've been the ones to develop him into a championship player, so we need to reap the rewards.
OK but 38 is still too old.
Yes Hyam had a very poor against Bristol City granted but more than prove his worth again yesterday
on Dolan, he would be one of the first names on the team sheet. Similar opinion to what ParsonBlue posted yesterday on him
McFadzean could be option depending on the budget and what Eustace and GB can do in the transfer market

I take it you mean a loan? I was thinking the same.
either loan or permanent. He needs to play regular football

Fair enough. What did he say?
Eustace had impressed at Birmingham earlier this season before his controversial sacking, and Rovers were confident he was the right man for the job.
Broughton continued: “My role then was to present the board of directors with a list. It is something we had been working on – and I have been quite open about it - for the previous 12 months.
“You have to highlight the risks, strengths and weaknesses of anybody who sits on that list.
“My job, when John Eustace comes into the post on the back of that, is to support him as best as possible, as I did with Jon Dahl previously.”
Rovers still have work to do heading into the final eight games of the Championship season as they aim to pull away from the relegation zone.
Broughton explained: “If you go back to where (Eustace) started at Kidderminster Harriers, they were very open and knows as the ‘Barcelona of non-league football’ in terms of some of their attacking play.
“You also saw at Birmingham last year that all of their players were either under 21 or over 28, they had very few players in that middle section. He also left the club in the play-off positions.
“Some of the headline data might not suggest that is the perfect match but when you scratch beneath the surface and do the research, there is a lot of alignment with the way we want to do things.
“The head coach needs the opportunity to get on the grass and implement his style of play. In John’s first five weeks here, we had double gameweeks because of our success in the FA Cup.
“This is the first extended period where he has been on the grass with the players, but I think he will need the rest of the season and pre-season as well for him to be able to put his slant on our game model.”

We need a lot, yes.
All those highlighted aren't good enough and there are some question marks over Hyam, Dolan and O'Riordan.
JRC, Hedges, Brittain & Carter are all injury prone. The first 2 you'll only get 20 games per season out of them.
Garrett and Leonard probably need a loan.
I wouldn't be retaining Fadz or Fleck. Fadz has played his part and fair play to him for that but he'll be 40 next season, we can't be relying on him anymore.
I agree on Gent, he's been having a good loan spell, so needs to be given a chance in pre season.
We desperately need pace and some good strikers who know where the back of the net is.
x2 wingers (minimum), x2 strikers, x1 CM, x1 RB, x1 GK (an actual No.1), x1 LB if Gent isn't up to it.
This is all immaterial, as Venkys won't spend any money, so it's likely free transfer dross and young not ready loans. And they'll likely sell Szmodics at the first opportunity and reinvest nothing.
It'll be stunning if we come out of the summer stronger than we are now, which means it's another relegation battle.
Why is the question marks over Hyam and Dolan?
McFadzean is only 37 and will be 38 in February.
I think the striker signing will be interesting to see what type of striker we need whether its striker who is target man or more of striker with pace who can press from the front.

That squad looks so bad when it is all out in front of you
We need a goalkeeper, right back, 2 central midfielders, 2 wide players and a striker. That is assuming we keep Szmodics, if not put another attacking midfielder in
We could also benefit from a better centre back and left back. But we can't be greedy now..........
I don't see why we need 2 centre midfielders when you got JRC, Tronstad, Buckley, Travis and maybe Garrett.

I mean we need a hell of a lot of players, especially when a few will be leaving! But for me we are such a slow team so need some pace - of course we need a goal scorer.
do we need alot of signings this summer?
Current squad for next season
keepers - Pears, Wahlstedt, Michalski
Defenders - Brittain, Carter, Hyam, Wharton, O'Riordan, Pickering,
CM's - Tronstad, Garrett, Buckley, JRC, Travis
wide players - Dolan, Markanday, Sigurdsson, Hedges,
no 10 - Szmodics, Gilsenan
Strikers - Gallagher, Vale, Telalovic, Leonard
I have included Dolan and Gallagher cos I expect them to sign next contract.
I think we deffo need a pacey wide player, Striker, right back, maybe another Keeper if we loan out Wahlstedt for a season, I would use Gent at left back back up given the reviews he had there, could do with another centre back or maybe re sign McFadzean for another season. Then a replacement for Szmodics if he does leave.

From my point of view, knowing it was a Waggott decision to appoint him
Surely it was GB who give the board of directors which was probably Waggott, Pasha(unofficially), Silvester and Cheston to decide which way they went to replace JDT.
I think Eustace was the best candidate out there not in work we could have got. (don't have any knowledge of foreign head coaches who haven't worked in English football)
-
I would be tempted to start with the same 11 if possible but play more attacking wise.

Just watching MOTD and just as the dingles could be heard singing 'we won the league at Ewood' Muric does a step over and costs them two points 😂😂. And Bellamy says it not his mistake but their mistake for asking his to play like that.
Hilarious 😂😂
watched it this morning and I just think where can you go now with both keepers who has been dropped this season. He dropped Muric at the start of the season and recently dropped Trafford.
I wonder if they change tactics next season when they are in the championship
