Much better performance from us and we had more than enough chances to win the game whether its was Gallagher, Dolan or Szmodics with them. Ayari impressed off the bench and went close twice.
We lack a quality goalscoring striker and we have since Armstrong left.
McFadzean and Hyam good at the back.
Wish we would have brought Chrisene much sooner.
Its in our hands next Saturday and Rovers never do it the easier way like winning the PL in 94./95 season

Rovers to win 2 nil with Szmodics and Hyam scoring today

I know he's done a good job. Point was what happens next. JDT got zero backing and undermined in 3 transfer windows, forced to sell his best players and offered nothing by way of reinvestment.
I bet QPR's board don't do that to their manager this summer.
Our January transfers were nothing short of laughable. Just because we signed 6 does not mean they are remotely good enough or that the manager has been backed.
JDT got backed in his first window with cash and loan signings. The January window was disappointed as we failed with the possible signings of Undav and O'Brien who if we signed both I think we would have deffo make the playoffs. Last Summer he was original backed with 3 signings which we done quickly and then we paused for weeks until finally signing some more players. January we got 6 signings and JDT authorised every player who signed here. I think I would have like to see more Ayari and Chrisene play more tbh
Its will be interesting to see how much QPR's board back their guy
1 hour ago, Hasta said:Exactly. So they signed 4 players who improved the team.
We brought in 6 players. One who has been useful but 5 who havent played despite us being in relegation form since Janaury. That clearly wasnt trying to "back the manager and improve."
Travis / Wharton out and Fleck in is one of the biggest bits of WTF transfer activity we will ever see.
I don't know how much the 4 players have played but their head coach/manager deffo has.
We all know why Travis was let go and Wharton was sold cos Palace reach our asking price
JDT authorised all 6 signings and one of my gripe was if he was so much in talks with Swedish FA about leaving us for them then we did we allow him to sign players and he left.

Come on Rovers. Lets get that win and 3 points and survival.

Unlike JDT here they'll actually try to back him and improve under him.
Only make 4 January signings, including 1 free transfer, 2 loan signings and buying a striker who scored 1 goal..
He massive improved the current squad and their best players playing well
We signed 6 players. McFadzean has played well, 2 centre backs signings who haven't played. Chrisene and Ayari who looks decent enough and Fleck who got injured on debut

Haven’t heard anything, just had discussions. This would be very disappointing.
Thanks Duncan for the reply.
There is only 1 way he will revenue targets and that is lowering the prices and make them more attractive to people/families to sell more and hitting his target otherwise it will low crowd and not hit his revenue target

Surprised that the internal investigation is taking so long to get done. I would have thought it would have been done by now.
You can't have clarity until you know what league we are in. I would have thought that discussions have happened in terms of wage and transfer budget but no deffo answer to what the final budget will be. Rovers recruitment department/GB will have loads of different lists with different prices for players we will look to sign plus We need Eustace input aswell in terms where he wants to strengthen and players he wants out. I suspect a busy summer with in's and out's. Bringing through young players is one of key part of footballing strategy and that's why we invest so much into the academy to produce quality first team players like Buckley, Phillips, Wharton, Leonard

Haven't we already got cover at center-half ? I would prefer we get a first choice keeper.
Wharton is out long term
So we got Hyam, Carter and O'Riordan for next season, so we deffo need one new one and I think McFadzean will get another 12 months deal to give us 5 centre beck.
Yes we need a first choice keeper, aswell a top striker who can score 15 goals plus pacey winger, back up right back and possible Sammie Szmodics replacement.

Not really, as you were implying your post was manually edited rather than changed by an old forum filter that was set a couple of years ago and evidently just forgotten about. The former suggests a nefarious intent, whilst the latter is far less so. The filter should be removed though.
fair enough.

interesting suggestion. He can play left back can't he aswelll?

Mystery solved, although it looks like you've been outwitted with an intentional misspelling 😆
So I was correct then.
Going to need anther centre back signing in the summer with the shit news about Scott Wharton's long term injury

Yes, but we clearly needed at least one more striker.
That was widely acknowledged last Summer, and that’s why Telalovic was signed at the death.
Yes we needed 2 strikers last summer.
Telalovic was scouted and know by Rovers scouts before last summer. Rovers scouts and recruitments department can watch any football they want and any clips are available through Wyscout

Put the finances to one side for a moment.
What do you think of the reduction in Saturday 3pm games? Do you think that's a price worth paying and fair on the match going fan? Or do you think that, once again, the powers that be are simply cashing in and thinking only of subscribions?
Its been coming to EFL when the clubs wanted more money from TV rights meaning that they would have been more games shown meaning a reduction in 3pm kick offs. Personally it doesn't bother me but I can accept it will affect some fans and match going attendance to games cos people have family or work commitments or people play Football on Saturday morning or Sunday morning meaning they can't go.
From my prospect, the price I paid for ST is fine and reasonable as I make every home game but not everyone can for the reasons above I highlighted above you.
That why I suggested and posted on here what I think ST for adults should be for next season and going forward. My motto would be fill Ewood Park and get a good match day atmosphere for the players being the priority, They should have been on sale 2 months ago like other clubs do like Bolton. Whether Rovers management is another question. We will have wait and see.
9 hours ago, roversfan99 said:Even if clubs agree to subsidise season ticket prices, which is a nice idea but will not happen. The number of games that Sky will be showing and allowed to be showed by the EFL is a disgrace. And even with cheaper tickets, season tickets will become less and less appealing when such disregard is shown by Sky and the EFL to match going fans making it impossible for many to attend so many fixtures when in the past, most would be 3pm on Saturday and only a fraction would be moved at the inconvience of the supporter.
Football is nothing without fans? Dont make me laugh.
Rovers will have to do to attract supporters to games. Anything else will affect match day attendance in reduction of fans being there.
You can keep blaming Sky all you want but you attached no blame to the clubs of the EFL wanted a better TV rights income. Anyone would know that would have to lead to more games on TV for that to bring in more TV income. Fairly simple situation
9 hours ago, M_B said:That is exactly where I am, the job has always been staying up. If we do, this period should be of benefit to Eustace as to what is and isn't needed going forward.
I don't really see the point in getting rid of him, only to take another off the conveyor when he has already assessed the situation.
Eustace need to be allow to bring in his own players and shape the squad he wants next season like JDT did

On Sky/EFL they are both complicit and responsible in planning to move an even more stupid number of games from 3pm Saturday. That will drive people away I suspect but I doubt those 2 parties care about fans.
The EFL and clubs wanted more money from TV rights. If it wasn't Sky Sports it would be Dazn or Premier Sports. Clubs wanted more money cos they thought their TV rights was worth more the current TV deal.
Any TV Company would more games to TV for more money. Fairly simple and understandable point of view.
That's why Clubs are/should lower their ST and match day prices starting with this season. I have posted my thoughts what ST and match day prices. What do you think of those ideas?

Signed as a result of Broughton being in a state of complete panic on transfer deadline day because we still hadn't signed a striker.
We signed Ennis at the start of the window

It's the EFL and its clubs who wanted a more lucrative TV deal. All Sky has done is offer the EFL what they want. If it wasn't Sky it would have another TV company.
It's what Rovers and EFL clubs are going have to get more supporters in ground and to appeal to non regular ST holders and match day people.

The TV deal is a sickener for all clubs. Sky will put absolutely no thought towards the fans, moving more games here there and everywhere. It will affect crowds up and down the country, showing furthermore that when Sky said during Covid that football is nothing without fans, it was a blatant lie from their side.
Throw in the disconnect currently between the fans and the club and the shoddy way its being run with owners as bad as youll find in the EFL, and budget cuts galore. With a poor team under an unpopular manager and a pitiful home record this season, season ticket sales will dive. The only way to keep them respectable is a significant drop in price. I expect at best a freeze.
Surely it's EFL and the clubs who wanted a better and more money from the TV deal are the ones to blame not Sky?
Did you think TV rights were going to sold for more money with more games being on TV?
Down to Rovers to come up with a proper proposal for ST and match day prices that attracts more fans to the stadium? Bolton have done with sensible prices

Pears (I’d rather not have to though!)
JRC. Carter. O Riordan Chrisene
Tronstad. Buckley
Markanday Sammie. Dolan
Gallagher
Why Markanday tho? Offers very little for me

I think Davul was referring to a recurring transfer rumour over 3 or 4 summers where we were linked with Luca Toni back during the PL days, just a bit of light humour. Don't think he was making a personal remark.
I never wrote Toni in my post tho. Looks like @J*Bor one of the mods changed it

If you think we are spending that much, you really need to revaluate your expectations.
Let's wait and see till the summer. If you think.fine but do we need to saying it. No

sent off for trying to get the ball back into whilst Palmer obstructed him and kept the ball. Good on Eustace for that. no surprised you slammed him for that.
why isn't Eustace the man to take us forward?
why would he go to back 4 and leave their 2 strikers vs our 2 centre defenders?
we created more than another chances to win the game
we had 30 shots, we played attacking today, we didn't settled for a point.
so please can you tell what you would have done different from Eustace to get us to win the game and what formation would you change to or tactical then?
