  1. Worst possible draw for us, especially if we need to play at home first. Mind you, I remember people saying Boro away was a bad draw. And Charlton away too. Can't see us not being brushed aside by Man U - every time we get a decent result against them, they always come back and have the last laugh - but you never know.
  2. Doncaster miss their second and third penalty. Arsenal win 3-1. Great... can't wait for Arsenal to beat us 6-0 on aggregate and see Van-bloody-Persie score them all.
  3. To be fair to Everton, I think they played better than most are giving them credit for on here: after the first ten minutes or so they worked hard in closing us down. Having said that, we were the better team and I think we could have come back from going a goal down if we hadn't have lost Todd straight after. I'm disappointed that Bentley played instead of Kuqi - we were pretty lightweight upfront because of it. Bloody McFadden only seems to bother playing against us. Just wondering, what went on in the first half with Marcus Bent and that kid? When that fella went and had a word with Bent, for a minute I thought there was gonna be another Dwight Yorke moment...
  4. This is from the BBC's live feed. No wonder we're struggling to score: Correction - 86:08 Shot by Jemal Johnson (Blackburn) drilled left-footed from right channel (25 yards), save (blocked) by Brad Friedel (Blackburn). 86:37 Shot by Shefki Kuqi (Blackburn) drilled left-footed from centre of penalty area (18 yards), save (with feet) by Brad Friedel (Blackburn). 86:08 Shot by Jemal Johnson (Blackburn) drilled left-footed from right channel (25 yards), blocked by Brad Friedel (Blackburn).
  5. What can I say? Ludek Miklosko should get a Championship medal for all those saves he made towards the end at Upton Park. And as for Andy Cole... makes you appreciate what a good forward pair we have in Shearer and Sutton. I hope Rovers never sign that donkey! The future's looking bright for Rovers now - with Kenny masterminding our European campaign and the SAS scoring goals for years to come, we're set to become one of Europe's top clubs.
  6. 2-1 Liverpool! Redknapp free kick... We've lost it.
  7. Wouldn't surprise me if David Gold or someone was in the News of the World tomorrow going on about how this is a victory for football or something. Ah, we can't seriously expect to beat a team as big as Birmingham, can we?
  8. When we first got through, I was reluctant to get a ticket because I haven't been to any of the cup games so far and I didn't want to be one of those titheads who turns up for the big matches. I didn't think it was fair that a regular might miss out because of me... ...however... 15,000 tickets sold is awful, and I'm doing my best to sort transport down to Cardiff on Saturday. I'm trying to get my mate, a Liverpool fan, to come so he'll drive us down - again, this wasn't something I would have done if we looked like selling out but he's obviously not going to take a ticket away from a Rovers fan. See you all in Cardiff - with any luck...
  9. What was the score? Never mind, found it out.
  10. Wouldn't surprise me if they decide to change that rule about Cup runners-up getting into Europe, especially if someone like Spuds finish 7th. It must be embarrasing for the FA to send the likes of Southampton, Millwall, and - potentially - us into Europe. Who wants to start a "Bring back the Cup Winner's Cup" campaign?
  11. Yeah, that would be nice - hearing Souey talking about how "Lady Luck" wasn't with Newcastle on the day, making the Geordies cry again, hopefully bringing Freddie "One of the 6 biggest teams in Europe!" Shepperd a little closer to Earth.
  12. The games are settled on the day now - I remember Villa vs Bolton went to pens a few years back. The sad thing about the cup now is that teams like us and Leicester are like little kids playing in the park - happy enough but we'll only be playing until the bigger boys come along to take our ball off us and put us out the game. Semis tend to be tight games but invariably the bigger team always scrapes through - so whoever we get I can't see more than one day out in Cardiff for us.
  13. Everyone connected to Leicester seems to think they've got an easy tie, even thought they're away to a team in a higher division. They're gonna be looking nervously at results on the Saturday and hoping they don't get dragged into a relegation fight at the bottom of the Championship, and they still don't think we'll be a problem? To be fair I think they'll give us a good game - in fact, being the pessimistic bugger I am I think they'll nick it - but I don't see what makes them think we'll be a pushover. A scrappy 1-0 either way. Hopefully Rovers. If we score early we should be pretty comfortable, but it'll be hard.
  14. Doesn't Ferguson have a thing for number 4? I'm sure he wanted the number when he signed for us but had to make do with the next available number with a 4 in it.
  15. Apparently one of the things that attracted Cole to Fulham was the fact that they're moving back to Craven Cottage, and he'll have the chance to play in front of the cow shed there...
  16. Yeah, that's a great DVD, as long as you ignore the "special guests" (Kelly Jones - why, God, why?!). John Entwistle's bass solo in 5.15 is worth the price alone.
  17. You're probably right... but since I'm in a crappy seventies-style band, I'm all for it.
  18. I'm one of those people who really wanted to hate The Darkness, but they're growing on me - you can't really dislike anyone who has as good a time as they seem to do, and they're pretty immune to having the **** taken out of them.[shameless plug]I've been busy lately recording my own band's album, so I haven't had time to listen to much else...[/shamless plug] I'm going to see Bob Dlyan in November though - I've seen him twice but he's pretty inconsistent. You get the feeling that if he played all his best songs he'd easily bring the house down, but being Bob Dylan, he likes to play mostly obscure stuff with the odd famous tune thrown in.
