Sportsmen don't reach their peak until they reach 28yo. so apart from tommo who i think is about 27.....the other 3 are all at least2/3 years away from that. replacing these bloke with younger ones only adds to the lack of experiance. we need a mixture, so that the older blokes can kinda look after the young lads. totally agree that footy is and always will be ours and the worlds number 1 sport. Russia and china got eliminated in the qualifying rounds prior to world cup and the usa got knocked out in the group phase of the competition. so in fact it aint a commonwealth event becasue all countries that have a rugby team can participate. you just got to be good enough to make the finals stages....on this occasion 2 particular teams were not. Now lets compare sir bobby robson to the furture sir clive woodward. Bobby robson....not won a euro championship or a world cup and as yet has failed to bring the premier league title to newcastle....has been knighted for what.."doing his job" which is to manage the team he is in charge of. Sir Clive Woodward - has won the the 6 nations, the pinnacle of european rugby and then takes his team to Australia and comes away with the the world cup - he should be knighted becasue he has actually won something on the biggest stage of all. exactly the same as Sir Steven Redgrave!! i would also like to add that having spent time in australia and made many very good friends there....the people that blatantly give the gob with no knowledge of what they are on about, are in the minority. Australia is a beautiful country with lots of great people....just a pity that there are people who open their traps....and don't know what they are on about! ROVERS FOREVER

having only taken up playing rugby in the last 5 years, i reckon the game is brilliant. there are many differences with football. there is more togetherness in rugby than there ever has been in footy. there is a lot more respect of the officals and opposition players aswell. as for clive woodward being knighted, well if becks had of taken england to world cup final glory then there is no doubt at all that he should have been knighted. there aint nothing wrong with the national media basking in the glory of winning the world cup...and further giving it large to the aussies for what they have done to us for years on end. Jordan....can you remember what his name was? having lived out there for 12 years i can tell you that if they did get paid what our footy players get then there would be no such thing as the australian rugby league. even at $70k per week (and not pounds)....i tell you matey no chance the league would be bankrupt. the top players in the league earn about about $400,000k per year...he took the @#/? out of you mate. aussie i am one of the biggest sulkers 2when we lose a game. sometimes for hrs on end. one thing i don't do however is start getting excited and panicky, calling for people to be sacked and #### like that....matter of opinion i guess! ROVERS FOREVER

We´ve lost 5 of 9 pl matches, 4 of 5 at home, and are out of Europe straight away. 9 matches and 1 point off the dropzone. Who cares what happened 1,2 or 10 seasons ago ? Go on. Kill me. Kill me. going by your own post it seems that you don't like it when the going gets tough. we have had a bad start to the season which none of us like. it amazes me that at the 1st sign of trouble people are getting all carried away. my guess is that when we where having a terrific run last season you where not as critical....and you are certainly panicking. not getting another manager no matter what....no my friend that aint what i said, infact it was not even suggested. and by the way you said this it seems this is what you are wanting....but i am sure you will correct me. chill out....have a cold one!!
