We had 3 CBs (Pickering, McFadz, Carter), with Brittain and Chrisene at wing backs.
    But we defended excellently today.
Pears made some good saves, whilst not forgetting the points his errors have cost us this season.

Had to be SS, didn't it?

If I'm being honest, I didn't feel relief today. Frustration at being in that position and almost an acceptance that we were going down once B'ham had scored.

I wish I could be optimistic about a refresh in the summer, but the last 12-13 years have shown that it's going to be the same old.

    This.

The whole team is slow. I've been saying it all season. Not one player has any pace. Other teams don't have to worry about getting beat over the top so can play a higher line thus putting pressure on the defence, who crumble regularly.

It's a piss poor squad full of physically small/weak players and no pace whatsoever.  We lack everything you need to be a competitive side in the Championship.

Worst squad since Venkys rocked up and there have been some mediocre ones during that time.

The 2 quality players the academy actually turfed out have both been sold within 7 months of each other.

Who are the top players ? The best one just left the building recently. How many have we got ? I’d class top players as ones capable of getting us out of this league.  I don’t see many of them, unless you count getting out through the back door.

I think what he was saying is the sign of a good manager is getting results with a bang average/poor squad - through sheer organisation/personality/man-management.

That's what gets you noticed and a chance to manage at a higher level with top players.

This guy, with his 1 win in 12, hasn't shown any of the above.  He appears to be, as we feared, rather crap.

*Although that might just be my take on what he was meaning 😂.

Young guy again still developing physically when he turned up and now looking a bit stronger.

I noticed on Sat that he does seem to have bulked up a bit.  Much better tracking back as well.  He's another player - like Dolan - that lacks that yard of pace to really be an attacking threat.  Certainly out wide.
