I find this less frustrating being honest. All well and good when you have the players but when you don't there is nothing worse than watching a bunch of players with limited ability struggle with every single pass and look so uncomfortable trying to knock it about. I'll take a scrippy scrappy over tippy tappy.

They still look like that now.

Our situation certainly wasn’t all on JDT, but equally it isn’t suddenly all on Eustace.

We look like a struggling side, which, bar one result against an awful Stoke side, is exactly what we are.

It’s simply about cobbling enough points for survival.

Agree with that bit.  Stoke were absolutely wretched that first half.

This is a fairer reflection of what our squad can/mainly can't do.

Yes they do, and when Rovers have players of that stature again I hope we can play that way. At the moment we don’t have those players.

If you take 2 similar quality teams, one plays out from the back, one sits deep and counter attacks with pace.

I know which one I would back to win 8 times out of 10 and its not the tippy/tappy.

I also know which I'd rather watch.

That said,  I always thought Rovers best performances over the last few years have been when we used a high press.

The guy was taking us into league one, he knew the score last summer and should have walked. instead he’s persisted with his brand with a group of players not suited to it.

Plenty can and will achieve better with what we have got.

Problem is, what are this set of players suitable for?

They can't play the tippy tappy stuff.

They are too slow to play on the break.

Too small/weak to go direct/long ball.

    It's a piss poor squad.

He's captain now because he's one of the very few senior pros left and probably a very well spoken professional guy and that's fair enough.

However if there were 5 or 6 around his age he wouldn't be el'captitan i wouldn't have thought so that says a lot. Focusing half time on mollycoddling a few young players against the fans sounds about right. He should have been kicking the others up the arse and telling his head coach this isn't working.

But this is what they've reduced the squad to and i said ages ago if you have an U23s squad you'll get U23s football and the mistakes and flimsyness that goes with it.

Makes you wish Hyam could spend 5 minutes in a dressing room with Andy Todd.

I'm hoping  the new old  lad Mcfazdean or whatever his name is may be a bit more old fashioned in his approach.

Hyam has moaned about the fans and crowds since he first turned up and we've ended up with a guy who is often one of the limpest on the pitch as club captain.

It's no wonder he's making an issue out of it, not his fault it's the fans.

See what i mean about victim mentality on all levels of the club it's pathetic if this was Boro/Millwall/Leeds/Sunderland they'd be getting torn a new one every week.

You know we are fucked when Pears is trotted out as a senior player.

Hyam though, he's disappeared on the pitch. No leader at all.

i said few months back JDT wast up to the standard we needed and got slaughtered for it wonder if same people still think the same now 🙂

i wanted it to work for JDT but he only plays one way and does not change it at all we need fresh ideas to give us a fighting chance of staying up

The way we play surely lies with the Director of Football/ CEO.   The coach is brought in to play the style of football the club has identified.

In our case the club identified it wanted a style of football that put players in the shop window so they could be sold.  The only remit - to avoid relegation.
