Carter is also injured.
The squad is poor compared to the top 6/8, but has more quality than most of the teams at the bottom, if motivated and organised properly.
It really doesn't. It's a squad that is technically 'capable' at (I may be being generous with a couple of players in that category) zero pace, no set piece takers, no aerial threat, minimal physicality and little leadership.
It's the worst squad I've known.

Smacks of Mowbray's results after Coyle.
Too many safe draws won't keep you up. Turning one into a win would.
We've all known for a while that the squad is awful: unbalanced, small, slow and little fight.
That lies with the owners and recruitment staff.
It will be no better next year unless we hit administration.
Eustace looks a dire appointment though. Still, as the cap wearing chap said, no excuses.

Sammy absolute saving grace this year.

Awful this. Summed up by Pickering's shit corner.
Oh for some Mulgrew quality from set pieces.

Is that the Scott Dann who went from here to have a very good career in Premiership with Palace and was called up to England squad?
Hyam, like Dann, is more a victim of the players around him than anything else in my opinion. He was outstanding last season, you don’t become a bad player overnight.
Yes - The Scott Dann that looked initially decent but lazy and uninterested during most of his Rovers spell. Not interested in what he did after.

To be fair to Gallagher, he looked done after an hour yesterday after going over on his ankle but he had it strapped up and hobbled on.
McFadzean is only 37. Give him some credit!
If Koumetio is seen as a genuine alternative then we may aswell give up now.
He isnt our worst attacker.
Hes bang average but since his return from injury, hes been easily our second best attacker. Low bar admittedly. Scored v QPR, Preston and Wrexham, few assists and some good performances in there too, notably v Stoke.
Also some shit ones including yesterday. Hes an average and inconsistent attacker at this level, getting more than his fair share of focus.
Dolan had the one good game v Stoke and has otherwise been poor for a while. Markanday has had one good cameo ever. Sigurdsson hasnt done anything for months bar shirk challenges. And the others all equally terrible.
They are all pretty dire.
Gallagher does his best work in our half, chasing back and defending set pieces. He's more important to the team than the others for that reason alone - but generally pretty poor as a goal threat/or holding the ball up.

Have to say that Hyam really isn't up to much. Been a mainstay of a leaky defence for last 2 seasons and doesn't seem a leader on the pitch.
Reminds me a bit of Scott Dann.

The squad is fucking shit. The worst squad I've ever seen in my life.
JDT made no bones about how bad the squad is and bear in mind he had three transfer windows deliberately sabotaged. A bunch of stupid cunts out there kept complaining about him 'moaning' when he was just stating the bare facts.
This new Mon has completely set himself up to fail with this no excuses bollocks and banging on about or squad being good enough. No it fucking isn't.
League two here we come.
My favourite post of the weekend 👏🏻

Ergo useless.
You wouldn't play a centre half who couldn't defend to save his life but who popped up with the odd goal every five games or so.
No I agree. There was that period in the 80s/90s when centre backs converted into decent strikers (Warhurst, Dublin, Sutton).
Often mused that Gallagher should have gone the other way.
I don't know how long Leonard is out for - but for me he needs to start every game going forward. We'll need him in league 1.

No. He offers nothing.
The Gallagher conundrum.
He is our best defender but our worst attacker.

That Ayari for me has something.....like his tenacity and good player....
Only seen a bit of him and he clearly struggled at Coventry but between him and the higher rated (by Brighton) Moran, I'd rather have him. As you say, has a bit of spark and devilment about him. He could be a shrewd signing for the right money.
Shame we don't have any.

Final thoughts:
Played much better than expected - to a man.
Decent crowd.
Small protest but achieved its aims and got Venkys name out there.
Quite enjoyed the style of football we played tonight.
Head held high.

Honourable defeat. It's the Rovers way.

Well, we all called what would happen with those subs. They'll get a couple more now.

Those subs have cost us the game.

I think, only Waggot is in the position to bring the crowds back, and that is through pricing
He'll have a tough job justifying anything more than £250 to watch this dross.

He looks the sort of manager who could keep us in this division. He won't bring the crowds back and he won't have us vying for promotion. In short Venkys will love him!
But he won't 'add value' to the squad with these type of performances - which is the biggest remit of the job apparently.

He's a star man playing with an almost free role as a #10 in a 4-2-3-1. You've seen the last few matches that he struggles playing in a front 3. I don't think many teams are going to play him with a big CF up top either.
I don't think there's quite enough to his game to attract PL interest, so I can't see him leaving.
Agree. Szmodic isn't going to get a move to the prem. Another case if a player being good in the champ but not having the game for the Prem. His age would also go against him.
The outlier may be Luton uf they stay up.
Unlikely that any current champ clubs would buy him as he'd be expensive at this level and financial climate.
He would be a good summer signing for a relegated side however - relatively low wages and likely to score a few. That's the only way he leaves I think.

Point on the road always welcome but christ that was a hard watch.

Another well made goal. Didn't see this coming.
