  1. Not sure the rock of the back four covered themselves in glory against Man U. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. At the time, I thought that there would be better football out there than the Allardyce brand but, and it's a big but, if you told anyone the next manager would be an unproven reserve coach, we'd have burst out laughing. Obviously anybody would have taken Allardyce over that. It was the most destructive thing ever done to this club.
  2. The talk when he went was of a big name replacement...then up popped K**n. Nobody (except a bookie or 2 in India and London) saw that coming.
  3. Except Tosin leaves in summer, Cunningham's gone and Walton's crap - a loan downgrade on a keeper we sold for £3mil and blew the money on a non scoring striker/winger. We still need a permanent keeper, a dominant cb, a left back and a non-Bennett Right back cover. That's before we start on a lack of wingers/width in the team and non scoring strikers.... Oh and we're back to having no money again.
  4. Hire enough managers eventually one will achieve something!
  5. Armstrong is clearly the best of our 'forwards'. Still developing but he's quite stocky for his size, competitive, quick and scores from both in and out of the box. Also able to run the channels. Should get well into double figures this year. Another year or 2 playing up front (not on the wing) should see him develop into an 'Assambalonga' style player/value. Gallagher needs to reinvent himself. I'd be giving Samuel a start instead, surprised we haven't tbh. Brereton needs to go on loan.
  6. It's premiership or bust for Rovers in terms of future sustainability. As it is, next season they'll be lucky to shift 7k ST. There'll be minimal transfer money - if any. Gates will be sub 10k. The longer we are away, the club will die a death by a thousand cuts. It's clear as day that we won't be top 6 with this squad/manager.
  7. I said to the wife on Friday that I'd go to the Preston game - simply because it was a derby- then pretty much sack off the rest of the season. This is despite having a ST. I think a lot of us just go because we always have, not for any enjoyment these days. When the wife asked why, the only answer I could really give was 'It's just boring' - the club's ambition, the manager, the style/quality of football, the atmosphere.
  8. About right - On the back of a poor run again. Only going to get 15-16k plus home fans if we are pushing for promotion. We aren't.
  9. Cant see this finishing 1-1. Hopefully we win 3-1 and move above them alphabetically! We won't though.
  10. No bookings is a joke. Gallagher in the wing is a joke. Armstrong looked lively.
  11. It's getting silly. All this character stuff...didnt seem to apply to Brereton who looks the most weak hearted 'flighty' chap in the squad.
  12. He's pretty much proved that he can't improve either the defence or attack in the transfer market. Get shut.
  13. I was going to post something exactly like this. Thanks for saving me the job. Spot on. For the first time since venkys arrived, there was a window of opportunity upon gaining promotion from league one. Fans engaged, positivity, venkys apparently on board financially. IMO the current management (waggott) completely ballsed up the season ticket pricing. Then Mowbray ballsed up the transfers. All momentum/positivity gone. Likely back to free transfers and the family silver being sold next season.
  14. Deary deary me. This keepers a fuckin idiot.
  15. Nice to see us throwing the kitchen sink. Season ended with Dack. And with no transfer fee - next season as good as over as well.
  16. Fuck off Bennett. School boy passing. Useless. As many predicted, we'll plummet now we flirted with play offs.
  17. Bell on for rothwell. Winger now playing on wing. ....now if we finally see Chapman...
  18. Bigger picture here. Dack was our golden goose. Selling him to invest or relying on selling him to make us FFP compliant. No one else is worth anywhere near in the squad. Not only do we lose a 15 goal a season contribution but it could well hamper our transfer spending over the next 12-18 months. We're not guaranteed to get the same player back after this injury either. So doom and gloom.
  19. Our lack of width is a real hindrance. Too many players in the middle running into each other on the edge of the area. Our 'attacking wing backs' offer nothing. Without Mulgrew our set pieces are bloody woeful. The season's peaked with that win at Bristol.
  20. Bennett needs hooking. Even the simple passes have been wayward. Buckley livelyish. Holtby disappointing so far.
