  1. Don't know much about James Chester but given that he's only 5ft 11, he doesn't strike me as the dominant cb we need. According to the Stoke forum (where he's been on loan), he's also slow and they don't want him. But if he's a nice bloke and free, he'll probably rock up here on a nice 3 yr deal.
  2. Better winger than centre back?
  3. Lack of a cb is a recurring theme for town team trials. I got shunted from CF to play there. Had a shocker ?
  4. That used to be the first tackle put in by a defender if they knew you were better than them. You took it and hope they got a yellow and not just a ticking off and a wry smile from the ref. At least on a yellow you, knew they'd be off after the next one!?
  5. If you go out on loan to league 2 and stand out in that side, then you certainly deserve a crack at this level next season. Certainly as a squad player ahead of Williams.
  6. I'd prefer it to be for Bennett. Only way he's going!
  7. Your probably right about a set budget. But we also have history of having a set budget and chasing players we can't afford, then bemoaning that they were too expensive! Apart from the fact he's a midfielder (and we have glaring issues elsewhere), I like the idea of signing Whiteman. Good age at 24, best player at his club. Bit like a 'Dack' signing. That's the kind of profile I'd like us to aim for. He could dove tail very nicely with Travis. Though not sure how good he'll be playing right wing?‍♂️
  8. You will be surprised if that's what you think.
  9. Expensive loan signings like Tosin over a permanent signing like Bauer are only a master stroke if that bit of extra class gets you promoted. Now we're stuck trying to play this passing game that Tony rambles on about - which he based on Tosin playing out through the press. Now we are without the only player who could make it work and no CB. Not such a master stroke.
  10. His set pieces have been poor, Mulgrews were much better.
  11. Oh for a player that can get round the back of teams and cross. Sick of our lack of width.
  12. Johnson and holtby are 1 in 10 players. Need both out the 11 next year.
  13. Our set piece defending is still weak beyond belief
  14. It's a bit like when we thought we could get a more progressive manager than Allardyce and ended up with K***. ...Salgado and ended up with Orr. Perhaps we should know better by now ??‍♂️
  15. To be honest I'd say he's had more bad games than good over the season.
  16. If ever a game reflects our season
  17. Walton is a dreadful keeper. No better than Steele.
  18. Points deduction aside, I wouldn't bet against Wigan finishing above us.
  19. Millwall are simply well organised. That's all it takes against a rovers team that cannot break teams down despite dominating possession. Downing has been incredibly poor recently. Wouldn't be offering him another deal...or DG or Samuels
  20. Samuels touch is absolutely terrible.
  21. That was piss poor defending. Nobody within yards of the 2 Millwall players
  22. Open game in the end. Sums us up really. Hold our own but don't have the killer touch.
