Those kind of statements are careless from the manager. 'Really good players' to me means players that are proven or better than the league you are in. No chance any of that ilk arrive. He's upped expectations based on that. If they turn out to be a couple of league one frees, McFazdean, Fleck and a couple of kids from the continent, he loses any credibility he had.

The strategy has been clear for a while. Sign cheap 'experienced' free journey men to pad out the first team. Take low cost punts on several young players and throw them into the first team after a few months in the under 21s. If the young player is any good, he'll be sold to the first bidder. Aim is not to get relegated but they won't care if we do. its ok though because they reduced ST by £30 so what do people expect.

Still buzzing this morning. After 40 odd years of watching England mess up.every tournament, 2 consecutive finals is dreamland. Even if we lose, it's better than usual! That said, Spain have played exceptionally well this tournament but we've nothing to fear. They weren't pre-tournament favourites and if anything have over-performed. England have generally under-performed. I think we are better suited to nullifying passing teams, than those with big, quick players like France. Pretty optimistic tbh. Only downside maybe that Southgate will go to a back 4 so he can match Walker up against Nico-Williams. Big decision to make over Kane. He's stunk the team out so far. Come on England.

Completely agree. After last season's shambles on and off the pitch, they should have gone low. Next year. A one off £150 for the anniversary season... that would get bums on seats regardless of the ownership situation. -

I'd say it's both. There are many ex ST holders, who are fed up by the way the club is run. Lack of ambition, terrible transfer windows, selling our best players, Poor home performances etc. I'm one of them. Many of us don't want to walk away from the club altogether so will still attend odd games socially. Follow on tv etc. In terms of people I personally know, 5-6 of us ( middle aged, comfortable income) would most likely buy a ST under new owners - at the £400+ mark. However at £250, this same group would also most likely buy a ST under the current regime - on the basis that if the season is as bad as expected, you haven't lost much if you don't go to half of them! I guess that would apply to quite a few people. As it stands, the owners are still here and the prices aren't low enough to be enticing. The only way the ST sales will pick up by the start of the season, is if some quality signings come through the door. Just my 2 penneth.
