  1. My thoughts as well. Today is massive. Win it and it feels like we may put death spiral behind us. Lose it... COYB get the win!
  2. Anything like Β£30 mil plus and Diaz should be sold providing a third is reinvested. He reminds me a bit of Kalinic. He may develop more as he gets older and have 2 or 3 really good seasons throughout his career at a high level but that will be mixed with some pretty mediocre ones. There is a fair chance this is one of his 3 πŸ˜‚. Rhodes. Just no. As for Dacky. He's no slower/faster than Buckley - so could play that role. For me though he needs to spend the balance of the season coming off the bench. Gradually build his confidence back whilst offering a proven goal threat. Something we don't have much of on the bench.
  3. Looking at that pic of him on Twitter, I'm sure that's just Nyambe with a beard. Maybe he's tricked Mowbray into giving him better termsπŸ˜„
  4. There's clearly no ambition for the club to go up. Just like we can't get players in early to give us the best possible chance. The club is not geared to success. Let's just hop the young lads some how pull it out the bag but I can only see a downward trajectory, starting tomorrow. Happy Friday everyone πŸ˜‚
  5. If we don't strengthen appropriately we probably will.
  6. That will all depend if the tinkering starts and the usual death spiral materialises.
  7. That's the fear. We'll have a good idea after the next game whether we have a top 6 shout or whether we'll be 14th in May.
  8. Every team needs a hatchet man at full back. Stuart Pearce made a living off it. Lucas Neill liked to put a few in as well. No problem with this lad signing at all πŸ‘
  9. If Rothwell was to go (although before summer would be madness). The nearest player I've seen to what he brings, is the lad Dembele at Peterborough. He looks way too good for them.
  10. I get the idea of pursuing the likes of Hedges, Souttar etc. We could get them Cheap or free and they will fit within the wage structure. I get taking a punt on Burke - possibly on loan. As a mid table champ side, unlikely to challenge for promotion, they are sensible signings. All of these it seems were on the radar in summer, when that looked our most likely outcome. It made perfect sense then. Do they make perfect sense now? I'd say not. I am not a fan of loans. I'd rather we signed players BUT with Clarkson/Poveda going back. This is the window to spend a fortune on loans. We should be getting the 3 best loans we can. Remember the likes of Archibald, Ardilles? We've said in previous seasons, that the expensive quality loans - your Harvey Elliot, Tosin etc should be the icing on the cake. The ones who get you promoted. This is our best chance in a decade. That's where I'd be using any budget this window. If we fail at least we aren't saddled with expensive contracts and we can still pursue the Scottish lads in the summer.
  11. Wow.πŸ˜‚ You're a bit precious. I'm pretty certain that if you ask Mowbray, he'd want a new striker in. We are clearly light on numbers. It's pointing out where we can improve, not assassinating the players we have.
  12. That was a very drab affair. Defended well but we looked well off the pace going forward. Take the point and move on. Definitely need some new blood. Should be at least 3 loans now. Need another goalscorer and a quick winger.
  13. As others have said, blatantly clear today that we need some more quality in. There's not many on the bench that offer a genuine threat to change a game.
  14. I think whatever happens incoming wise won't be decided till the last 48hrs of the window, depending on where we are.
  15. Absolutely. Have to say though in general his first touch is excellent.
  16. A more pertinent question is will he ever have another season like this? He seems a likeable lad. Is clearly having the time of his life and has got the media attention. If we were guaranteed to be able to invest half the fee in players. I'd be tempted to cash in but with rovers it's unlikely to happen. Therefore keeping him is the sensible option.
  17. To be fair he puts in a big shift closing down the defenders, no wonder he tires late on. I was in the camp that doubted Buckley had the physicallity for this league but he's definitely proving me wrong. Some sublime passes.
  18. I thought that. They could definitely be the dark horse in the second half of the season.
  19. Got my ticket for this. Hope we still sell our full allocation. Hoping for a belting atmosphere.
  20. Not specifically πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
