What about these....? ? The 50/50 one is obviously the boy but the Stadion one I’ve seen on a few foreign kits for next season...
-
It’s all about marketing. By using a fundamentally different colour palette it means that the club can offer a lot of other products in the new palette & hopefully increase sales. The argument runs that if you have the same colour scheme every season sales drop off, hence also mucking about with the shades of blue & position of the halves etc. The jade green a few years ago was another example. Personally alternating with yellow/blue & red/black would be my preference & always royal blue for the home kit ?♂️

Ask @Madon ...? ...perhaps Britt Assombalonga will launch it ?

The away kit is grey & yellow apparently...

Haha...we both know that’s not happening... *carries on designing new logo*

BRFCS - gratitude corner...?????? At the end of a long, hard season, it’s something of a tradition to hand out awards and such like and to reflect on what has just concluded. Well, we may not have any trophies to hand out but we sure have plenty of plaudits...so bear with me in this self-indulgence if you would be so kind... BRFCS has for a while been in need of some behind the scenes tinkering, a lot of which you don’t see; more often than not, the site just being up means people have “done stuff” and neither you nor I would have a clue but it keeps the engine revving. We are lucky to have our own “geek squad” in Glenn, Biddy, Stuart & Phil who tinker here & there and truly speak an impenetrable language of their own in pursuit of IT perfection. Phil has also done some sterling work this season in refreshing the page and creating a new home page which has brought us bang up to date and for that we thank him. We also thank him by asking him then to do some other stuff which hopefully soon will create a wonderful new section on the site which we are really excited about. Sadly Phil also insists on having a life and a real job that pays him money and sometimes these have to take precedence. However, thanks to Phil for endeavours past, present & hopefully future..and to all of our IT gurus, may your TLAs always be unintelligible to us non-gurus. The forum can be quite the enigma. Sometimes there is some lovely stuff on there, sometimes there isn’t. Overseeing it is a thankless task that is guaranteed to bring only opprobrium. Why anyone wants to volunteer to do it is beyond me but we are grateful that they do. It doesn’t win you many friends or put you on the VIP guest list at film premieres but heartfelt thanks to K-Hod, Tom & True Blue for helping to moderate the site. Podcasts next...these truly are a labour of love. We produce them, put them out there and then simply hope that someone listens and enjoys... Sometimes we get feedback, sometimes it’s positive, sometimes it’s constructive. We are proud of them notwithstanding. This season we were invited to Brockhall, we interviewed Don Mackay, John Nicholson from Football 365 we had help & assistance from various journalists including Rich Sharpe, Andy Bayes, Conor Pope, John Duerden and of course from erstwhile Rovers social media manager Ryan Grant. Let us also acknowledge the hard work of Kamy in keeping lines of communication open with the club. We had a podsquad of panelists willing to give up time & energy to contribute and we had a new executive producer and host for one truly memorable episode in the indefatigable Linz Lewis who created the terrific International Women’s Day edition. One of our panelists went on to create the “Ginger Ninja Appreciation Society”...it wasn’t a BRFCS initiative as such that’s true, but we would just like to bask in the reflected glory of Jen Bellamy who always is er... “forthright” and makes editing out swears quite the art form ! Another in Michael Taylor, reassessed Graeme Souness and persuaded a Scottish colleague to act out the role of Souness, which it has to be said he did with some uncanny accuracy making for a memorable episode. We have had help from Tom at our good friends at the 1875 Podcast, Scott from our favourite fanzine 4000 Holes, we have our very own Canadian corespondent in Bill Arthur who somehow managed to interview a former Burnley player yet make it about Blackburn Rovers ! He was also trying to line Brad Friedel up for an interview but Brad then got himself sacked so...another time perhaps ! We have recorded face to face at Christmas and put it on YouTube, we recorded our last episode in a real studio...all of this, constantly trying new things to make vibrant and hopefully enjoyable listening. Remember, all this is in spare time and for free. Thank you therefore to Michael, Linz, Jen, Mike, Stuart, Matt, Louis, Millie, Hollie, Lucy, Josh & Duncan who have all helped along the way. COYB

The pod squad of Linz Lewis, Michael Taylor & Stuart Grimshaw reviews the season both on & off the field and awards the Mike Delap Trophy for the most accurate pre-season predictions. Thanks also to Bill Arthur, Louis Gee, Tom Schofield, Scott Sumner & Hollie Thurstan for their soundbites. Thanks to everyone who has helped us throughout the season - whether behind the scenes, as a panelist, helping us to book guests or being a guest ! You are all wonderful & without you, we are naught but a whimsical notion... View full record

Former General Election candidate Duncan Miller, late of the "Venky's Out" party, attended last week's Fan Consultation Evening at Ewood and was won over by Steve Waggott & Tony Mowbray. In conversation with Ian Herbert, Duncan shares what was discussed, how it has impacted his thought process, his rationale & provides optimism for next season. Essential listening for those who still find the whole Venky's reign difficult to reconcile. View full record

These guys are linking up with a number of football clubs... https://www.v12retailfinance.com/sectors/season-ticket -
Just a quick heads up, the 2018/19 end of season review podcast will be recorded & edited later this week & will be out hopefully before next weekend all things being equal... Following the re-vamp of the site, the podcast page now has ben refreshed and shows all the pods from the last year...should you want to revisit the pre-season predictions before listening to the post-season episode then I can heartily recommend Ep 97 where numerous panelists stake their reputations & forecast anything from 8th to 19th. There are some prescient predictions about key players and the need to strengthen the squad in key areas - remember, this was recorded before Armstrong, Rodwell, Brereton & Chapman were signed... We'll have a think over the summer about "podcast strategy" for next season; if anyone has any ideas, any contacts for interesting interviewees or just generally wishes to contribute, please PM @Herbie6590 or contact us on the @brfcsdotcom Twitter if you prefer. Thank you..!

No one initiative alone does the trick but the cumulative impact of a myriad of incremental ones might...I think this is what the club tried to find out when it did the surveys earlier this season. It is an ideal topic for crowdsourcing ideas... -

This sort of stuff keeps sales & marketing directors in jobs year after year...the secret is to offer an incentive that is low cost to the club but high value to the customer...so things like going in a draw for a player meet & greet, signed shirts, free children’s tickets, discount concourse food, programme subscriptions etc all could be candidates. The more seasons you have a ticket, the more entries into the draw type of thing.... -

ODB we seem to have got off on the wrong foot here...you originally raised a theoretical example & I responded with a similar theoretical example where the age profiles were reversed. FWW I’m much closer to being an OAP than a beneficiary of a 25 y/o ticket...sadly...for many reasons ? i was not intending in ANY way to be sarcastic so I’m sorry if it came across that way...?? -

It’s a massive jump from £90 to £319...FWIW I think we should encourage the club to price more creatively. I suspect the research undertaken last season has informed this decision & IMHO its worth a try to see if it retains interest & grows numbers in that demographic. As a fan base we do seem to be prone to criticise the club for having little imagination regarding new initiatives & only ever get behind those that specifically benefit us personally. Rovers need to grow the next generation of supporters & this initiative is clearly an attempt to try something new. I would like to see them build in some kind of a loyalty reward that grows with the number of consecutive seasons a S/T is held - if this were to apply to all full price S/T holders this might sweeten the deal all round. -

It was a theoretical example as was yours. I presume you aspire to live to a healthy, fulfilling & ripe old age ? -

This initiative is clearly aimed at retaining the patronage of young people & to soften the transition from kids prices. The same argument in reverse could be levelled when that bloke is paying full price & you have a discounted senior citizen ticket. There is no pricing structure that pleases everyone. If season tickets were £50 each we’d then have people complaining that we have to sell all our players to pay the bills. -
Looks like it...the gold/sky blue trim looks superb....struggling to imagine it looking quite as good in grey & yellow...

Couple more Umbro ones here for South American clubs. Nice collar on the Santos one. The broad stripe on the shoulder/arms seems to be this season’s template...
