  1. Oh, I might mean the other fella then - the one signed from Everton?
  2. Who'd win in a race across the pitch? Bellamy Boa Morte Malbranque
  3. It was always going to be hard with a completely new central defencsive partnership against 2 big, strong and fast forwards. Lucas does not get the credit he deserves and neither does Mickey Gray - I thought he was excellent yesterday. Reid on the other hand was appalling. I still think our best central pairing is Nelson and Zurab. Bentley has some nice skills and touches but he looks a bit lightweight yet - needs to get on the steak and guinness! Tugay is just pure class - what on earth are we going to do when he retires? Maybe have that Israeli fella from the Hammers? And Shefki is well on his way to becoming a folk hero. I had a row with a Scouser at work about who I'd rather have in my side - Crouch or Kuqi. Amazingly he couldn't believe I'd pick Shefki. Just because you've paid 7 mill for someone doesn't mean they're good - who better to know that than a Rovers fan
  4. On the bright side, it was quite funny that the Blackburn End shouted "Handball!" everytime a Rovers player touched it for a while
  5. Bloody hell. I hope some of you lot have had your belts and shoelaces taken off you. If you were at the game you will know that Rovers dominated, even with 10 men. A couple of moments of going to sleep and they scored (and yes, it was Nelson at fault - it happens to everyone). Halsey made more interceptions than the entire Everton midfield in the first half. What a kn*b - kept getting in the way. And the handball - well I'm not sure of the rules anymore. Todd sent off, yet a number of times Yobo and Weir as the last defenders flattened Bellers for free-kicks - but they aren't? Seems odd.
  6. Actually, now you mention it, they even have similar running styles!
  7. Superb. Best game I've seen at Ewood for years. I've always been a huge Tugay fan (we will miss him for sure when he's gone) and today he ran the show. Danny who? Although I have to admit in my mind I had Neill running him close for MoM. Zura just seems to get better every game - his reading of the game is excellent. And I hold my hands up - I never thought I'd utter the words "Gray going off knocked us out off our stride". And Bellers is just a class act. People might take notice of us now. Only disappointment was 17000-odd fans. The tickets are cheap in prem terms, we are starting to play good football agian - surely it's only a matter of time before the fans turn up again...
  8. Perhaps you're right - who knows what goes on in that blokes head!?! But living in Manchester, all my mates who are Man U fans say that Darren Fletcher tries really hard but just isn't good enough. The word around here is that Fletcher is one that Keane singled out exactly for that - not for his effort.
  9. Sullivan (rentagob) has had a pop at the three forwards and Nicky Butt. He should also have a look at 4.75M for Clinton Morrison (with Andrew Johnson going the other way) and the countless other millions Bruce has spent. My guess is that he won't, because ultimately he's sanctioned these moves and is therefore culpable, although not as culpable as Bernard Cribbins
  10. I'm not sure he will. One of the main criticisms levelled against Glenn Hoddle was that he couldn't relate to players of lesser ability than himself. I think Roy Keane would probably find that a big ask, especially if he learns his trade at a lower level club
  11. Jeez - has he ever watched a football match before!?! That statement alone is priceless!
  12. I seemed to have caused a stir with my question and like I said at the time, perhaps I was reading too much into it. The article you mention is positive and good news so I am happy to admit I was wrong. If you read my posts you will see I am not one to criticise our players often, and I agree that our midfield is good, but I would also suggest that Gray, Matteo, Flitcroft (now), Dickov and Kuqi are journeymen. And before anyone takes me to task on that one, see the dictionary defintion journeyman : noun {C} 1 OLD-FASHIONED a skilled worker who is qualified to work at their particular job and who usually works for someone else 2 any worker who produces good, but not excellent work
  13. Guess it means I'm wrong - which I am glad about. And, if you read my posts they were questions
  14. Blimey - I seem to have upset a few people with a fairly innocent and innocuous enough question. Jeez, seems I'm not the only one who should be getting a grip
  15. Dear me, somebody fell out the wrong side this morning. The point I was trying to make was his body language towards the rest of the team, even during the match. Anyway, like I say, I hope I'm wrong and reading into it too much
  16. Don't know if its been mentioned, but I was worried looking the body language of Bellamy through the match and especially after the game. It seemed to me he's realised that some of his colleagues are journeymen at best. Hope I'm wrong
  17. No I wasn't - see my other post for explanation
  18. I'm not sure I see your point - I wasn't trying to put words in his mouth. Is there any particular reason you you felt I did? His post simply prompted me to look at the score and then make the comment about the premiership?
  19. Well that is the premiership done and dusted then. Blimey before October is out. Anyway, Charlton is a tough draw but they seem to play better away than home so maybe they'll do us this Saturday and then we'll do them in the cup
  20. People keep bringing the money thing up - haven't mentioned it at all as a negative and neither has anyone else as far as I can see. What people have said, if you read properly, is that players that cost 10-15-20+ million should be outstanding. And frankly, anyone who compares what Jack did and was to Abramovich is very sadly mistaken...
  21. I didn't say he wasn't a good manager - his record is clearly excellent. I think what I said was "Special one my @rse". I don't agree with your assessment of him as the best of everything. I think there are a number of managers, some still in the premiership, who could have won what he won with Chelsea, and possibly the Champions league too. And, he is exceptionally arrogant, something that history has shown usually leads to the downfall of individuals.
  22. And you should think so too when each one of them is more than everybody else's entire transfer budget (excluding the big 4)
