  1. I don't know what forum you're reading but nobody here has moaned about their funds. I, for one, have moaned about Mr Mourinho's arrogance. As Jeff Stelling put it this morning "What's Portugese for bad loser"
  2. No it isn't - it's their attitude which is becoming worse than Man Utd's used to be
  3. Robben was a Ranieri signing. Cech I will give you, but the jury is most certainly still out on Drogba. Essien looks the part but it's early days. Wright Phillips hasn't set the world on fire yet, neither has Jarosik or Huth. And he seemed to be protesting just a tad too much this week about how people were loving it because Chelsea had drawn and been knocked out in the cup (yes Jose, you LOST, not drew)
  4. Jose Mourinho El Hadji Diouf Steve Bruce Gary Neville David Sullivan and... Uriah Rennie and... I can't count
  5. Special one my @rse! The backbone of the squad is Ranieri's and the jury is still out on his big money signings. He's a tosser and if he doesn't understand why people are starting to hate him and love it when Chelsea slip up then he's stupid as well. If he was chocolate he'd eat himself...
  6. Anyone else think that if Todd or Sav had done what Terry did to the Charlton keeper they'd have been sent off, and the Andy Townsend wouldn't have been laughing about him "doing a Nat Lofthouse"?
  7. Koumas - if he can sort his attitude out. Matt Holland maybe. Or that young lad at half-time against the brummies!
  8. Wonder how big the adrenaline buzz will be in the championship...?
  9. Couldn't happen to a nicer fella. Well except Souness of course (only kidding ) Seriously, I said it when that Brummie was on here in January during the Savage saga - with the amount of money Bruce has chucked about, especially on mediocre forwards, he is very lucky to still have a job given the return he has "achieved"
  10. Tugay has been one of my favourite players to watch at Ewood - even including the championship winning team and when he went through his "invisible friend" spell! But he's getting on and we need a replacement creative midfielder. Unfortunately, I think we sold his natural successor - not Wee Barry but Dunny. Who would you like to see at Rovers in the role of creative midfielder (that we could afford and would come here). That new fella at West Ham looks decent - but they don't look like they're going down anytime yet!
  11. Needs every Rovers player playing at 100% with 90+ minutes of constant pressing to even have a chance.
  12. Noooo! Every player we ever taunt always scores against us. We should lull him into a false sense of security by politely eating those minging pies at Ewood in his honour...
  13. Rent-a-gob Sullivan has been in the papers again - having a go at (in no particular order) - O Leary - Butt - Heskey, Pandiani, Forsell Fantastic - when will he realise he has a dud for a manager?
  14. The point I was trying to make, which has passed you by, is that you cannot take Peter Crouch seriously as an international player, and there is a long list of players who are better equipped then he is - of which Matt Jansen is near the bottom (but still better than Crouch)
  15. He is an easy target because by any measure you choose he is not an England striker. He has scored no goals this season, nor did he score particularly many for Southampton and even fewer for Aston Villa. He has, in my mind, yet to do anything to convince that he is premiership class let alone international. People talk about his touch and his "good feet for a big man". Sorry, if you want good feet try Jermaine Defoe. If you want good feet and somebody who can jump, try Matt Jansen. If you want a battering ram used to being a lone striker and scoring from set-pieces try Kevin Davies. Crouch is only in the squad because Liverpool bought him for a lot of money, and if he played for us, or Bolton, or Charlton, he would be nowhere near it. However, it isn't his fault and you wouldn't expect a player to turn down an opportunity to play for England so the boos were unfair. Perhaps they were for Eriksson for his selection?
  16. Could be controversial and point out that there's not many that do discrimination as well as those from Glasgow but that's not the point... Don't know if I'm like most English but when I watch international football my allegiance is in the following order 1) England 2) Scotland 3) Wales 4) Northern Ireland (don't ask me why the home nations are in this order - they just are) 5) Eire 6) Team with a Rovers player in it
  17. Crouch is utter rubbish - not even premiership class let alone international. I don't think he's better than Shefki so who got the better deal? Having now said that, he's guaranteed to score against us (sorry!)
  18. 2 flicks for an international centre forward against an opposition like Austria does not do it for me I'm afraid. The number of headers he has missed because he's back on his heels, slow and laborious far outweigh the number his 7ft 6 frame allow him to win. Choose any criteria, other than height, for choosing an England centre forward and I guarantee you wouldn't choose Crouch. Goals scored, assists, tackles, distance covered, form - you name it he's distinctly average at it. I thought so when I saw him at Ewood last year with Southampton and frankly, if he wasn't playing for Liverpool he wouldn't be in (bit like Heskey really...). If you wanted a forward to win flicks and set pieces then I hate to say this but Kevin Davies is better than Crouch. The fact is this - he's barely premiership quality let alone international and I haven't been this annoyed about a selection since Graham Taylors delusion antcis...
  19. Traore is out of his depth in the premiership - it says everything that Souness rated him as a good defender and was after him for us. Similarly, Crouch, despite being 8ft 6, is also out of his depth. Unfortunately I think Liverpool have the midfield to pull us all over the place IF they turn up. I'm thinking that the international break may serve us better than they but it will still be an uphill struggle. If ever a player needs to break a hoodoo or score a first goal it's unvariably against us! Going for a 1-1 more in hope...
  20. Good win in the end. Did you notice how all the players went to Kuqi after he scored - he must be pretty popular. Knew when I saw him warming up that we'd get nothing from Rennie - he's always been one of those ref's that seem to dislike us. Albrechtsonstonsonston (the blonde full back) looked quite good - might be worth a punt when WBA go down
  21. Funny they aren't as tough on the city fans who sing about Munich? Jeez
  22. Can't see beyond a good hiding for us I'm afraid, even if we play 4-6-0, let alone 4-5-1! Let's hope I'm wrong
  23. Slightly off topic but a gob-smacking article in the Guardian today here Cheaper to watch AC Milan (including the flight) than Chelsea. They've massaged the figures slightly but the fact they can even get close is not really on.
  24. What a shocker - I left after the 3rd goal. If we can get beaten at home by a shambles of a team - disorganised, no fitness, no spirit - then I dread to think what this season holds for us.
