  1. 2 strikers, a first choice one and a backup, The boss doesn’t seem to fancy Nuttall and I think he’ll go on loan. Centre half. 2 wingers So 5 very minimum
  2. Looking at that squad I’m convinced we are more than just 4 players short
  3. Wow so many different designs this time around. Used to it being a few templates
  4. Smallwoods decent but can’t get too excited about new deals for him and Williams, not players I think we were at risk of losing, Lenihan was a biggy along with Dack
  5. Saw that we tried to kick off when all the Croatia players were off the pitch, discussion around that it’s legal (Panama tried it vs us) Even if it was legal though Lingard passed it forwards and would have been offside!
  6. Easy to say with hindsight but I think Loftus Cheek offers a lot more than Dier
  7. Hard to take, the pride is back and that’s great long term but right now we’d started to believe and it’s a horrible bump to Earth
  8. Best team won on the day but can’t help think we beat ourselves, 2 shots on target. Proud of the effort overall
  9. Shocking defending by Trippier and Stones
  10. Great save, fortunate he caught it so clean if he scuffed it it’s in, hopefully that was their one chance. Pickford has the makings of a hero again after looking shaky earlier
  11. France will be delighted with this going to extra time Croatia look like they can barely move at this point
  12. Worrying that after the Colombia goal and this one we go to pot for a while which is a problem of having it easy in most games and not being used to it
  13. Still confident of a win but starting to feel nervous. For the first time the added complexity of expectation is starting to creep in.
  14. Confident about tonight but less so about Sunday - footballs a funny old game though. The focus tonight seems to be on stopping Modric primarily but they have a couple of others that could do some damage. Both teams won penalty shootouts, 2 in their case and they may be happy to aim for them tonight.
  15. Wouldn’t bet against something similar to the top one there for our away kit
  16. Backs up what I thought about him, top man! Hope common sense prevails on this one. On transfers in my naivety I got Marriot and Maddison confused, is Maddison a player in a position we’d be looking at? Isn’t he an attacking midfielder or could he play in the role of Armstrong or Chapman out wide?
  17. Unintended, bit of fun based on the current hot topic of people being nosey on public transport, I have loads of respect for Steve Waggot, when he spoke recently at the supporters consultation meeting I found him totally engaging and passionate without being flash. Comes across as a football man not a car salesman (no offence intended I also like car salesman the man I bought my car off was one)
  18. Asked when leaving if he’d been signing - he remained tight lipped - ‘trying’! We parted on good terms - I wished him well. The good news is my connection turned up so I’m on my way to cherry tree - the conductor is wearing short shorts and it’s quite disconcerting.
  19. Update - wife in tow, stand down this is a shopping trip! Wonder if he’ll let me get a lift from a Preston, as above there’s no chance my connection turns up Edit not wife just seat mate, attire - business casual, London based signing incoming. BRFCS 2 - all other sources of info 0
  20. Following on from my Davenport exclusive I bring you this developing story. Steve Waggott is currently on my train from London, off peak in standard class, what a man, look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves #trainbae
  21. We’ll have a job on to stop Mbappe - feels a bit like this tournament is set to be the moment the torch was taken by him, unreal coming of age.
  22. That last sentence whilst extreme isn’t far from normal business practice. A lot professionals in any industry have bonuses, they are even referred to as OTB - on target bonus. You meet your targets and get your standard bonus, do better and get more do slightly worse than expectations and often still get a bonus amount. If survival was the aim for Bolton last season you would expect there would be bonuses as such, bigger bonuses would have kicked in if stretch targets were met. It seems daft in the mega money world of football granted but it’s not unusual.
  23. A few tweets went around yesterday including from people based around Bristol, some people asked Nixon directly and he eventually came back with ‘there’s something in that’ So no he didn’t break it but did seem to go and check and hear similar
  24. He looks to be a logical sort of squad player, young, pacey and potential for goals. Wouldn’t be adverse to it myself if he wasn’t the main man. Edit - sorry I thought he was younger
