  1. Speaking of Tarantino (bit of a stretch here) but I went to see Killing them softly a few months back and really didn't like t, I thought it was trying hard to be Tarantino esque with the long rambling dialogue but it just made the experience particularly dull for me. Went to see wreck it Ralph on Sunday and enjoyed it a lot but not quite as much as I expected to, it's full of charm and brilliant little touches but felt it fell apart just a bit once it reached the meat of the story. Good film but not up to the standard of Disney animation Studios last film (tangled which for me is as good as any animated film in the last 20 or so years even the pixar greats)
  2. To be fair I've never been to Shajan and it been anything but jam packed I know a lot don't rate it but its always been the one I go back to when I fancy a good Indian
  3. Cheers Theno may check out Mitton Hall A quick check seems to show that Shajan got a 5 star rating at its last inspection
  4. This seems to be pushing free publicity and damage control combined with the odd ethical debate in here rather than recommendations now! Still I find this thread as good a resource as any when looking for places to try
  5. Think its in one of those white buildings opposite the debenhams Ramp now
  6. Halal is considered crueler I believe causing the animal more suffering I imagine the suffering in all the time leading up to slaughter is the same though in most cases
  7. Whilst I thought the food is good there and the lamb leg a mate of mine had was brilliant I've never been in a huge rush to return. I'll try it again one day but I didn't find it as exceptional as people on here seem to especially with the amount of options for Indian food around here. Think if I do go again I need to go for a chefs special as I went for standard fare last time As for takeaways I still find Balti house in rishton one of the best places for pizzas and kebabs, thankfully they will still deliver for free even though I'm in cherry tree now. Still not found a curry place that delivers here that's brilliant though, nothing even close to Akash in Accrington
  8. That looks amazing I think my favourite ever was in Disneyworld with a creme brûlée style top
  9. He's the bloke off Masterchef isn't he? But sorry can't help on the actual question
  10. Went to the Fieldens at Mellor today, mainly because I got a tastecard free through work and wanted to use it. Very good food and great value with the tastecard. I got a ribeye steak with proper chips and peppercorn sauce, the wife got cheese and onion pie and the little one a tuna sandwich, we shared a side portion of garlic bread. Followed by the best cheesecake I've had in a long long time (and I love my cheesecake )along with a sticky toffee pudding for the wife. With 3 soft drinks the bill came to £45 reduced to £24 with the tastecard. The card itself is normally £80 or so I think for a year but if you dine out a lot it would be worthwhile, there's a list of restaurants that take it online and they do have restrictions like most places won't accept them on a Friday or Saturday and its limited to a certain amount of people dining (6 per card at Fieldens)
  11. Going to Tang in Preston next month for a mates birthday Never heard of it but its a Chinese and the top rates restaurant in Preston on trip advisor
  12. Now that won't be a popular opinion on here I imagine I've had a decent curry there before but it's never been head and shoulders above the rest for me like others think
  13. Paul - that's not a Christmas Day menu but a pre Christmas one
  14. Whilst I don't know much about boxing as such he seems the kind of guy that this may eat away at him even though he says he's happy now The gazza comparisons seem worryingly possible
  15. I have tried the lamb leg there Very very good and the potatoes that come with it are lovely but I think I still prefer a curry
  16. Is kebabish an eat in type place vintage or do they deliver? What do you recommend from there?
  17. Will have to try Khyber again last time I tried it it was excessively greasey but maybe it was a bad day
  18. Not a restaurant but we had a good curry from Ruchi Bangla on Bolton road recently Still trying to work out the best Indian that delivers to cherry tree though
  19. Oak royal golf club at wheelton does a good carvery on a Sunday
  20. I actually think thats irellevent Ricky as I said on twitter I think a lot of the backlash is because its a popular fan
  21. I said on twitter that I personally thought the original tweet by yourself was a bit un needed but the way he's reacted now has been well over the top I would hope its down to the fact that he is annoyed with his own performance but he may just not like the criticism lol
  22. Ok cool
  23. At least the lads eating well He tweeted a pic of his donut last night!
