Come off it. What list must he be off? We must be some way past the Z list by now and back on AAand BB etc.

After the generally positive reaction to the signing of RodwellI I think if we were linked with Bradley Orr and Leon Best someone would come on here trying to defend it and saying "Trust Tony" and  if it was good enough for him it's good enough for them.

Think the words I used were total car crash... Don't think I said he was an amazing signing but he has scored in this league and would depend on what we are paying.

Seems like we have two polar opposites  people who say every signing is a great one, the other that Armageddon is coming and then a few who like me are waiting and seeing.

  2. I've seen a comment comparing Rodwell to Steele...well Rodwell has played 3 times for England, been a premier league champion and moved for what 30 plus million pounds and is 27!!

Ideal signing for a season on low wages. Reed is decent too. However for me I want a striker and winger and they need to be permanent

I am sorry but that isnt even a choice. Rhodes and Gestede held us back??? One of the craziest things I have heard on this board. Both were quality throughout their time here.

Not exactly crazy! No strikers who scored lots of goals for us, however this is a game of 11 vs 11 and i have no doubt that either one would struggle in this team. Why? Mowbray demands that all players chase and track, we are an effective team now. In hindsight the best thing to happen to us was to go league 1 with Mowbray in charge.

Stark contrast to what he was pushing last week which was that the cash was there to make such a purchase should Rovers want to do it. So either he's back in non-committal mode after getting ahead of himself last week or he's being fed something else by Mowbray/Rovers.

A loan with an option to buy is not likely to happen. I'd be very surprised if Forest would agree to such a thing unless they were desperate to get rid of him. Surely it suits them to either have it as a guaranteed buy in January or alternatively as a loan with no option to buy? A guaranteed buy now ensures they will get a decent fee whatever happens, a short term loan enables them to sell him for more should he do well, whereas a loan with an option to buy for Rovers means that we're in the driving seat on what happens and if he fails miserably or gets a bad injury they are left to pick up the pieces.

Disagree about Sharpes comment, as by the sounds of it we bid over 5 million for Brerton  however if they want 12 million then surely that's too much...

I would sooner spend that amount on 3 players...

  5. BLACKBURN- Brerton chase heating up, more later.

    Nicko

Deffo something in this based on him missing the game for forest last night.

Ideal signing for us, 19 and already 50 games in the championship. A potential Graham replacement.

Very easy to stick a £750k bid in early doors. If you get laughed at and the player eventually goes for £4m then it is factual to say that we had a bid in for a player.

True to a point, however Sharpe confirmed that a sizeable bid had gone in to Forest and we had the funds to purchase said player.

According to Sharpe Mowbray has turned players down who cost too much, only to go back when the price was right...all three players signed on permanent deals being proof of that.

People really ought to read that list of transfers and get a grip of themselves.

Thanks for the link, very insightful.

There are very few clubs who are in the red for transfers (we are one). Forest have spent a fortune and must be certs for a top 6 finish.

My worry is if DG or CM are injured then we literally have no one to replace them. Currently our season relies on luck and that is an awful position to be in.

It will be fascinating to see what the loan window does for the championship, as I sense the prices will be far more realistic. 3 more weeks to find out (!)

Is Palmer going to start ?

Armstrong offers little threat as a wide forward

Offers pace and an outlet for us to utilise on the counter. We were crying out for someone to run onto a through ball at Ipswich. Dack possesses the quality to find him too.

Very pleased to see nearly 3 million spent on a player too!

Is that a serious question? Samuel obviously, would you have played Shearer as a winger? No because he couldn't bloody play there, samuel can't run with and cross with, the ball, so why play him as a winger?

Subs well, nuttall and conway, you might as well get a player sent off.

It is a serious question...who would you have played instead of Samuel? Who is the stand out performer on the bench that should have played first?

There were no controversial starters, Williams hasn't missed a game has he in over a year? The subs, well those I can agree with...

Are you happy with the planning then.

Think your in for a shock, along with the rest us, if you think those two are going to make a difference at this level.

What do you expect this season JAL? Position in the league?

I expect at a stretch a top 10 position. I believe with those two players we have a shot.

Also to answer your previous question, name ONE club in the championship settled and happy with their squad at this moment?

Well yes he has. He has told you several times through the media

It is just who I think Mowbray is targeting

    exactly.

cant believe how many fans are so negative even on the 1st time

Chaddy its not negative! Anyone can see where the holes are in this team, highlighting them doesn't make you negative. We can still trust Tony and pick out the weaknesses in the team.

Ah shame we looked solid and not troubled for large parts and concede like that..

We need signings badly..  That team won't starve of relegation..  Taking off Graham gave Ipswich the momentum as nothing stuck up top at all..

Ruined the Saturday as I thought we were Okay ..god dammit

Seeing Nuttall and Conway come on says a lot.

We need some signings and fast.

    2-2 is a decent result.
