But we scored more goals this season in the first 10 games without him than we have scored for a long time...

Dack isn't going to get us up, a good defense will

Dack does more than just score goals, he has a nack of easing off the pressure for us by holding the ball up and spraying upteen passes (correctly) for our team. For all his goal scoring prowess, holding the ball up is not a strength of Arma.

  2. I've said last week I want Mowbray gone now.

However it's a tad unfair to criticise the teams play today.

We have a back four consisting of a CM, a LB at RB and our worst LB!

We then have Travis back after injury, Brereton (2nd game back), Davenport his first start for us.

Really difficult to have a decent playing style when the team has changed so much.

Mowbray out but let's hang on for the win!!

  3. The top 7 in the league is an interesting bunch of clubs.

Top two have been relegated recently and have funds that are incomparable to us.

Swansea were relegated a few seasons ago but still have parachute payments and a 20 million pound striker.

Brentford have amassed a fortune thorough their signings and obviously have an amazing scouting network to get all their top notch players.

Watford recently relegated and same as Bournemouth and Norwich.

Stoke, parachute payments and still able to play 18 million pound defenders.

My only massive surprise is Boro.

My point is yes I expect better from this squad, but Mowbray bought the players, introduced the youth and has rebuilt the club. I'd say the majority of the top seven have better squads than us so we are roughly where we should be.

That said I'd give him until the end of the season and then appoint someone else. The old managers that have done the rounds should be avoided and id like an up and coming manager from the lower leagues.

    Predicted Line-ups from Lancs Live:-

Predicted Rovers XI: Kaminski, Rankin-Costello, Lenihan, Wharton, Douglas, Johnson, Trybull, Rothwell, Elliott, Armstrong, Brereton

Predicted Luton Town XI: Sluga, Pearson, Rea, Bradley, Cranie, Dewsbury-Hall, Ruddock, Cornick, Berry, Moncur, Collins

No excuses today, that is a strong line up. Rothwell is the key player for me, he plays well and we will score goals.

Marking this one down as a loss.

Zero accountability in this team - Lenihan and Evans should be nowhere near a starting spot after their recent efforts.

I agree but, Ayala is out and without Johnno and Rothwell, we have literally no one to replace them... Once fit we have a decent side but atm...

  6. I said this a few weeks ago, JRC is one of the first names on the teamsheet now. He is so versatile and I think he has an excellent football brain. It's good to have so many options across the pitch.

Credit where it's due, Mowbray has built this squad and the way we play now is brilliant to watch. Also interested to see how apparently 'untouchable' players have been dropped.

Douglas will be the best signing of all imo.

Frustrating we aren't capitalising - yet!

We should be out of sight.

Douglas offering what we thought he would and Brereton continuing, IMO,  to morph from donkey to footballer of talent.

Credit to Mowbray for the transformation? I can recall many a message from you saying that he is never going to be a championship footballer!

    Correct.

Young energetic players can hit a brick wall if they aren't managed properly.  The lad has so much talent and the 'X Factor' and i would be disappointed if we don't get 30 games out of him this season.

Mercer I am a tad baffled. First of all the majority of our players are poor signings and our recruitment is poor. Now that's fine but the management is poor?

Who gave the young players a chance in the same place??? Mowbray is no Messiah but I can see a style of play now and we look a decent shout for the play offs. Sacking him if he does badly over a few games, come off it lol!

No different from people claiming when BB looked like a disaster that he was "a project signing" foisted upon an unwilling TM by the owners against his wishes.

Now he is showing signs of promise he will no doubt become the manager's man and a stroke of genius all along!

Yeah i see that. To be fair to BB he has looked like a decent player recently and if he can add goals to his tally then he may be classed as a successful signing ...big if...

Mowbray's also been telling us since Blues Bar in Feb. 2019 that defenders are coming..........................we've made one permanent signing in Ayala!

If you want to hang your hat on every Mowbray statement then that's fine.  Personally, I take everything Mowbray and Waggott say with a pinch of salt!

At the end of the day, I assume someone in Pune asks for feedback on their recently financed European scouting set up and I would think it's quite easy for Mowbray and Waggott to point to Kaminski.

IMO, we got Kaminski more by accident than design and in no small part due to the alleged club / player bust up - without that, I think Kaminski would still be Gent's goalie and we wouldn't have got a sniff just as Wigan wouldn't have got a sniff of Mulgrew if Mowbray and Mulgrew, allegedly, hadn't had a bust up in training following our opening day defeat against Charlton where Mulgrew was captain (captain first match of the season is not indicative of a manager's plans to 'send to Wigan' within days).

You think what you want Chaddy but it's often wise to sit back and reflect with a nice glass or two of your favourite tipple!

Why is everything that Mowbray gets right an accident and everything he gets wrong his total incompetence?

Somewhere in the middle for me, definitely more positive than negative.

Wonderful seeing our youth players coming through and thus far his signings have generally been successful.

is jrc a better full back than nyambe, emphatically no,therefore it`s a braindead decision by a manager with obvious  cliques in the squad

Why change a team that has won 5-0?

Let's see how the game progresses but JRC is one of the first names on the teamsheet these days.
