Yeah, 1 whole goal in his 6 years as a pro shows a real eye for goal there.👍
Absolute waste of time and should have been released yonks ago
He can play in a number of positions and is currently competent rather than effective. Isn’t that the point of a good manager to improve people like him?

Sammie is about to turn 27 and tbf that’s the ideal age of player we should be looking to add to our first 11. We have a very, very young team and need more experienced players.
He can also play anywhere across the front line, which again is ideal for the way we are looking to play. 7 goals plus 3 assists in a struggling team is not bad at all. Let’s see what next week brings!

Source reliable?

Please someone correct me, but if sign a player for 1 million on a 4 year deal, that will show up as 250k per year on our books. Whereas the same 1 million pound player would show up as 500k on a 2 year deal…
based on this I don’t understand why we haven’t given four year deals to players under the age of 25. I can think of the City midfielder, any others?

His quote " want to continue my development with regular game time..."..🤣🤣 Jesus look what we have become. A boy not even played any proper games taking the piss, no respect at all. New proper players please Gregg
Is playing 90 minutes at the San Siro last season classed as a proper game?
He clearly has talent and would be an upgrade on anyone we clearly have at the club.

Not since yesterday, i can confirm though Waggott was shocked i knew, having been told an hour before I met with him, so technically had it confirmed at both sides now
Confirmed about Bowler or Styles Glen?
seems to be a lot happening in the background atm, most of it positive!

Wow Styles is a superb signing at this level. I’m sure Chaddy has been championing both of them!
patience is a virtue and if this is the calibre of player that we are signing, I am happy to wait a while!

Diaz in last year of his contract and we want silly money - 7 or 8 times Bowler's £3m - Diaz isn't that good!
Rovers' conundrum - what do they do with Diaz? IMO, £25m, £20m is stuff for the fairies. Understand there have been enquiries but substantially below £15m. Big risk is we lose another 'big' player for us for feck all.
We should push for at least 15 million.
Correct me if I’m wrong but you expected us to get 6-7 million for Armstrong and we got 20 million inc add ons.
id rather keep him then sell Ben on the cheap.

Opening five minutes have been excellent.
we are pressing very high, slick passing too.

I know what Broughton has said to the press.
Which specifically of the owners has he spoken to? This might appear to many to be a minor point but my view is that this is very important, because if you want to get things done here it needs to be the owners who have the power to delegate.
As I said earlier 'healthy' budget could mean anything. I imagine even with budgets slashed on last year it would still be 'healthy' compared to what Bodo Glimt players were on.
I’m sure he said healthy compared to every team not with parachute payments.
That would be a decent position for us to be in. At a guess 3-5 million to spend on signings and a decent budget for wages when you consider what we have lost this year.

I don't think he has. There was a Drewe Broughton who played at R&D though.
I’m sure he was head of recruitment at Norwich and mentioned how he sold 100 million pounds of talent for the club.

JDT is a bit left field but he was managing a Champions league team last season and beat Rangers to get there.
I must say I’m intrigued and a lot more excited than the usual suspects. I think the job he did at Malmo was excellent.
Also getting a DoF is hardly a sign of cost cutting and at least shows some semblance of a plan being put into place.
we are always one step away from disaster with Venkys but it’s always the hope that kills you!

I honestly think we may look back at this period as our only period of stability.
Thank you Tony for five years of progress imo- on and off the pitch. Bought us a lot of good players and developed loads of others.
i am in no doubt that he had to go but the manner is poor and he deserved better.

If it's Bournemouth then he's been offered life changing sums of money to derail us, which makes him a bigger shithouse.
The only plus is that I don't think he's as good as he's made out to be and I believe we can get better, the downside is we've only got a couple of days to get someone.I love Mowbray comment that Rothwell will only move if the players he wants come in. Music to my ears!

Best chance of going up in a decade and he purposely unsettles the team. Got to go down as one of Rovers biggest ball bag ex-players.
If we slip up he's going to take so much shit for this. Why he'd want to ruin his entire time here with one stupid decision is beyond comprehension, it's not like there's long to wait.He would have been offered life changing sums of money and he has to look after his family first.
Awful for us but I get it from Rothwells perspective.

Tbf it may wreck the superb team ethic that has built up.
rothwell has been brilliant this season but I have faith in the team, get rid of him and get some more players in

So so proud of the team.
hopefully we should have a lot of our attacking players back for the next game.
-
Absolutely disgusted.
I don’t get annoyed easily but this could derail our season. He has been one of our star performers this season, no doubt. He will be a big loss and unless we get an adequate replacement I’d let him rot.
looking at Lenihans performances you can see he cares and the contract situation hasn’t impacted him. Rothwell could have achieved legendary status here, we gave him a chance, developed him and he couldn’t give us 6 months.

It’s just white noise.
you had weeks to sign a striker, not a day. You lose your top striker and you sign no one, there is literally no excuse for it.

As long as Gallagher plays through the middle, you can get as many ‘forwards’ as you want. For me he is the key.

What position do you think the surprise mystery signing will be in?

Everything I’ve read about this guy suggests he is equally strong in midfield as he is at left back.
clever signing at 500k, think this also means we have money for a striker. Quite excited to see who we get now.

Two issues with your hypotheticals…
1. He signed for Leeds when they were in the championship, having never played a single competitive game- 40k a week??? I’ve seen it listed as 11k and that seems reasonable.
2. A selling club would spin it as higher…hmmm…why would we as are giving 40 per cent of the profits to Newcastle! From media reports it’s going to be close to 20 million for Armstrong.
I know we have lots of incompetent people on the staff but you can use better examples then these two.
