Yeah, I'll have really fond memories of a season where we got absolutely humiliated by Burnley, Preston, relegated Reading, Rotherham, Luton, Coventry etc, played some of the worst football I've ever seen for over half a season and blew the chance of play-offs by winning 1 "cup final" out of 9.
Not a chance we finish any higher than this next season, especially with the teams coming down and I have no faith that this football is at all effective over a season at this level.
I’m guessing you have really enjoyed the previous decade plus then 🙄
two cup runs not good enough? West Ham and Leicester wins?

One man is to blame and that is our manager who over the last 10 games has got his team selections and tactics so, so wrong.
Some of our first half performances have been woeful due to JDT screwing up his selections and tactics.
IMO, the brutal truth is JDT hasn't got what it takes when it comes down to the real business.
Seems like Dack is off and we need many more to follow him - too many with no bottle and simply not good enough.
Yet he finishes the season the highest we have been in the championship, that’s an interesting contradiction considering the team he has put out.
Wharton, JRC, Carter, Hyam, Sammie, plus the introduction of so many more youngsters. Two brilliant cup runs and a style of play that has been enjoyable to watch many times this season. We are here BECAUSE of the manager and next season is a season to look forward to.
whoever we sign next season, PACE has to be a key attribute, we simply have no one who can outpace opponents.

There was no pressure on today. We had to win and hope
3-1 down at half time at the Den. I am super proud of the team and have genuine hope for next season.
Finished in our highest position since we came into the championship.

Play your best keeper? That stops one of them at least, for the first it’s a direct result of the instruction to play out from the back as well
I still think he is the better keeper for the style he wants to play. Two other goals are not his fault.

Don't care, he can't set a defence up or have a coherent plan. We need better than this mon
How do you legislate the three goals as a manager?? Two are blatant poor decisions by the players.

New CB needed, we have a soft underbelly.
diaz like wtf, Pickering is a useful squad player but a new LB needed too.

Pickering...not good enough
Buckley...not good enough
Morton...not good enough
Carter... debatable
Garrett... debatable
Dolan...debatable
Squad needs a massive revamp.
Keepers are fine.
Hyam, JRC, Whartons x2, Sammie should all be retained. The rest I can take or leave.
We need to retain most of our squad and add maybe four players. Pickering, Carter, Dolan are good squad players.

How can it exceed expectations when we're probably going to finish in the same place as last season?
You look at the team last year and then compare it to this one.
we have done a 180 on our style of play. We are literally a few players away from a genuinely top side. We are still in the play off hunt in the final game of the season. When has that happened in the last 13 years? When did it happen last season?

Surely SS is the one to play off a focal point forward. Maybe his mate from Posh, JCH....? Dolan we just really need to demote to the 23s for good.
Even though he has scored and assisted at Championship level?
I also think he has shown signs of improvement- I think with the right players around him he will develop a lot next season.

Proud of the players- they did well.
how is that not a pen???

I'd take Mark Robbins In the summer and fuvk jdt off
I don’t even know what to say. We haven’t been in the play offs since relegation, now we are as close as we have ever been, all the while cutting our wages and adding numerous youth players into the squad and playing a style of football that’s good to see. But yeah let’s sack the manager, makes total sense.
Let’s go again mid week. Arte et Labore.

Hedges literally gave the ball to their keeper. The rest was really bad luck with an own goal.
we go again mid week.

A beautiful player to watch, easy on the eye with his passing. I’m so excited about next year- get an experienced CM alongside him and we will be top 6.

On reflection it was a good performance up until the last 15 mins. Clearly we have players who were tired and running on empty- issue? Who do we replace them with? Wharton for Morten- 18 year old for a 20 year old? Up front Gally for a 21 year old? The elephant in the room is the lack of a CM and striker in the window. It is killing our play off hopes. Also Ben looks semi fit at best but no one can question his worth ethic surely?
I am still hopeful because we can go out there and beat any team- including Burnley but decisions like that blatant hand ball for the goal- how poor are the refs in this league.
We are in the top 6, there are two places on offer and we need to keep going- Arte et Labore.

Good performance and great to be ahead.
One gripe, Brereton is absolutely woeful.
Disagree 100%. He is lacking in confidence but watch the goal and the part he played. He is tracking back, he is fighting and I think playing well without necessarily being his Diaz attacking threat.
i also really enjoy the way we play football now. First year in with a few additions next year this will be such a great side.
also my fav player is Sammie, love the fight and infectious manner he has.- 1

It’s very clear that if we had a striker who could score goals and a midfielder who could dictate play- we would be closer to the top 2 forget top 6. I think this season is a step too far but I’m excited for next season.

In the summer he needs to go to the gym and bulk up, wafer thin at the moment!

So just the 4 out of 11 starting players need replacing with quality top end Championship players with zero budget? You’re right, we’re basically there…
It’s a squad game and clearly with a few injuries we are relying on a 19 year old making his debut off the bench!

I honestly feel that next year we will be pushing for promotion. A couple of strikers, central midfielders and we are there. The basis of a very good side is there.

How much possession have we had so far? 90%? Wharton looks class.

Pitch is awful!!

So so proud of the team and the first half performance. Bodes well for the remaining games and shows me today what JDTs style of play is and how good we look when we turn it on!

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Officially No Longer Our Head Coach

Gregg also fronted up the other day and answered all questions well imo. Accepted that he needs to change too.
Also the way that we are set up now the Head Coach is only a part of the system, I sense there are candidates already lined up so let’s see what happens.
