  1. They took a loan out on the training through supposedly a friend in the UK, supposedly the collateral was the training ground but I wouldn't be surprised if there were stipulations about not being able to turn down transfers above a certain amount or being able to sign players until the loan is paid.
  2. I don't think they have a spare £20m sitting around they want to lose. They could but all indications are they won't.
  3. The club normally requires around £20m of funding a year. Venky's can go to the courts and ask to pop funds into the club. The courts will say yes so long as they match the funding to the Indian Tax authorities pending the outcome of the case. So if they have £20m the can spend, £10m can go to Rovers and £10m has to go to the Indian authorities. Following the outcome of the case, they will either receive the £10m back or it will be confiscated by the authorities. Now for Us, that means our funding is £10m down on what we need so cost cutting is required. Last year they got through with sale of Wharton, other players and the loan on the training ground. The loan on the training ground needs to be paid back shortly, which will be the Raya and Wharton funds.
  4. Who has said he is being replaced? Up until their money troubles have been sorted, the sole target is staying in the division and that is all the ambition is.
  5. Gregg was removed as a cost cutting exercise. Budgets have apparently been reduced by 25% across the board for the coming season. I would expect several other backroom coaches, data analysts, recruitment etc to be announced as leaving soon.
  6. It wasn't his decision. Venky's appointed a football consultancy to advise the best way forward. They recommended a DOF approach and a recruitment consultancy was appointed to find a DOF. Sunish and Waggot were not involved on either decision and hence Waggot always resented Broughton being appointed and did everything possible to undermine him.
  7. We are not in the market for 2nd division Icelandic prodigies, as we simply can't afford them. Raya and Wharton cash is being utilised to pay back the loan on the training ground Venkys took out. £15m of sales have got to be generated to get us through next season and I would expect significant wage reductions. We are looking at cheap frees on very low wages and the academy, with signings probably made last week of August once the court case has been heard if at all.
  8. We should have offered a contract till the end of the season only. A relegation to League 1 will require a different style of manager this time.
  9. He still needs to win the next 2 to equals Appleton's record and we all thought he was an unmitigated disaster. The jury is still out, we won't get relegated this season but with further cost cutting in the summer, I just can't see him working out and inspiring the fan base. At a stable club and pragmatic club, I could see him doing well.
  10. In our position and with Venky's issues I think we needed someone with more experience. Warnock would have been ideal but Alex Neill probably would have been my choice
  11. No quotes from the CEO or owners explaining the decision etc, our club communication really has plummeted.
  12. Will it be GB or Waggot introducing him in the media? If GB is no where we can safely assume he has left.
  13. I think worse is to come. I don't see the investigation into them being over quickly, they have already found 1 issue so the Indian authorities will go through everything and Modi will use it to show he is cracking down on billionaires. I sense the budget being cut to around £8-10m in the summer with the sale or release of any player on more than £5k a week. With support from Venky's going down to £3m if we are lucky. So similar to the trust's support all those years ago. I also expect a 25% increase in season tickets with Waggot saying we can't expect cash from the owners all the time and now is time for us to help them out. I wouldn't be surprised if MK Dons have a better budget than us in League 2 by the time the end of the summer arrives. In your meeting Glenn and Josh, were there any comments from Waggot on how bad it could get or was he overly optimistic for the future.
  14. You really don't like GB. I think the DOF model here was always going to end in failure, with Venky's always causing issues. Most of the things Gregg has introduced behind the scenes have been good but they were still only trying to correct the previous 12 years of mismanagement. With us now going for Eustace it looks like the entire model the club were adopting with a playing identity from the kids team upwards has been jettisoned, so I am not sure it is worthwhile it is for him to stay.
  15. I think he'd be horrified at what we have become since he left.
  16. It's possible but League rules state only a Club Secretary or CEO can registar a player, so we'd be left open to a whole load of issues if that had happened. It's unlikely to be a password system, more likely a passkey or pki based authentication system which only they would be able to use.
  17. Hearing on permission to send funds and to go through what the funds will be used for.
  18. Have you forgotten Mowbrays runs which were much worse than this. He just couldn't mould our kids since December. I am not sure what you expect, we have no experience through out the side, no fight and no forwards. Mowbray was always allowed to sign experience, the season we just haven't been able to sign that due to budget cuts.
  19. With the EFL system only 2 people at a club have login details and can register a player, the club secretary and as a backup the CEO. So it's either Silvester or Waggot that didn't submit properly. They can't blame anybody else as login details shouldn't be shared.
  20. If both of your main finance people leave it is never a good sign for a business continuing as a going concern. The times I have seen this is when something dodgy has happened by the finance team or when you are about to enter administration etc and they are trying to protect their future employment prospects.
  21. It was always going to be high, we had just received the Wharton cash. In reality he was just getting a forward in till end of season and used Ennis sale to fund the loan. A good deal really. With Ennis it was a 50/50 low risk punt. If he goes to Stoke stays fit and scores 10 goals towards the end of the season we'd be having a very different conversation. There is talent there, we just haven't been able to harness and develop it.
  22. Both sold, Gallagher leaves on a free, hyam and tronstad also sold if suitable offers come in I believe they will be after another 25% budget reduction.
  23. I would expect they haven't been given permission to do so from Venky's.
  24. I just don't think we have the players to grind out results at the moment. A lot of teams set themselves up to nulify Brereton, we don't have any players who scare other teams now.
  25. Silvester appointed by Venky's. During Williams and Finn time he was Liverpool club secretary.
