  1. I'd let Bob Fleming chose 19 choons for the season. Start with "The Ace Of Spades" end with "Mr Slater's Parrot", but give him free reign apart fom them.
  2. The promotion of the idea of execution for suicide bombers has a certain futility about it. Possibly the proponents of the punishment haven't really thought through the idea.
  3. May I respectfully suggest that you think that UK people are a pure as the driven snow and that all crime is committed by immigrants. The vast majority of immigrants are hard-working & law abiding people, indeed it could be said that an awful lot of them get the short straw when it comes to living in the UK. You only have to look at the background the the Morecambe Bay disaster to get a flavour. The UK is perfectly capable of providing itself with indigenous criminals. There are thousand of them. Which is not to belittle your point that some immgrants are criminals. It's just that so too are loads of people who live here. Possibly being a bit crass here, but can you imagine the Express or The Mail if Harold Shipman was of Asian descent and called Patel and had come over from Uganda when Amin expelled them all.
  4. Bit of a tough one to call. The Wigan public will be all up for their first taste of premiership football whereas the Blackburn public are probably a bit jaded after a few seasons of survival. Wigan is dead handy for both Liverpool & both Manchester clubs & as close as we are to Notlob. They've got Warrington, St Helens, Ormskirk & Skelmersdale close by, none of which have a football presence. We've got Notlob, Preston & The Dingles all of which have. Wigan is on the West Coast main line, so it's straight up there for the Midlanders. Then there will be the away fans looking to add another ground to the collection. He he he, bet that's got you thinking.
  5. Eat your heart out James Joyce.
  6. Better report those arms caches to the Police. No point telling us.
  7. But it would have been worthless if Jansen hadn't scored the first one, or if some aging Welsh get hadn't had the game of his life and put sick-note Anderson in his pocket, or Brad hadn't made those saves................... Please don't give all the credit to Cole. Even Tiny had a decent game at right back.
  8. Did I say "it makes it it quite alright?" Go and have another look at my post. Go and have a good hard look. Give yourself five minutes to read it, then come back here and finish off reading this post. Did I say "it makes it it quite alright?" No, I didn't, so your post is fairly pointless isn't it? For heaven's sake: read the bloody posts before you reply to them.
  9. I think the key word in that is "extremists." You've let it slip there. Your obvious obsession with hating Islam may well be blinding you to the fact that since humans evolved from eating bananas with their feet, they have been knocking seven bells out of each other because "they" are "different." Jericho was first destroyed in 7,300BC, presumably by some people who didn't like them. In 2005 some dangerous maniacs may be killing people in the name of Islam, but that no more reflects an Islamic view than (say) American "Christians" who murder people who carry out abortions represent the Archbishop of Cantebury. No doubt you can think of scores of other example, from the Spanish invasion of South America to the European destruction of Tasmanian Aboriginies, to dear Old Adolph, to Rwanda, to Omagh, to the Highland Clearances, to The Crusades, to some"good old boys" stringing up some "uppity nigger." Islamic extremists are nothing new.
  10. OK, you're right. "Offensive" will suffice.
  11. Got lots more matey:perhaps offensive doesn't quite suit but either patronising or arrogant might just fit: It's that Phillip, he just doesn't do his reseach properly does he?
  12. Could you please expand on that "I think we all know the real reason ..... a bit risky.. " comment. I've no idea what you are referring to. Thanks
  13. Nice one sweetpants. So now "pygmies" is a term of abuse too. pygmies Don't know what they have done to upset you. I don't think that any of them are Muslim but I might be wrong. Possibly the little buggers are sneaking in places where big people can't get to and creating trouble. The little gits are probably rummaging under your bed as we speak. Blighters! Send them back to where they came from, if they stay here they'll only take jobs from our English jockeys.
  14. Can anyone tell me if anyone held a two minute silence last Saturday or Sunday? Or for that matter, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Did you Phil? The two minutes was held on Thursday at 12:00. That was the time to do it. Seems sensible to me. BTW, the fireworks thing. Manchester City Council has a technique of setting off a loud "bangy" firework from the Town Hall simply to alert city centre people of a commemorative silence. Maybe Blackburn did the same?
  15. You're not wrong there DanLad, the ref didn't blow for a foul. And if my memory serves me correctly, the inevitable slow-motion replays didn't have any neutrals complaining. But that was before the semi final.......................
  16. Phil, my little plaything, I called Theno a "snidey racist" about 30 months ago. He hasn't managed to get over it, I'm quite surprised that you too are suffering hurt. I really hope you manage to get over it and I apologise for any hurt it may have caused. I really am sorry if you are offended. Really sorry. As for the "arse" comment directed at AESF, well that was because he took the opportunity to commemerate 50+ dead and hundreds injured to justify treating us to one of his tabloid sermons on immigration. Now if that's not deserving of "arse" then I don't know what is. Now then, this next bit gets a bit complicated: You came in with a comment that in relation to some bad taste demos post 11th September Then Eddie said Then you said I'd love you to explain my (or Eddie's) lack of perspective for suggesting that people who have not commited any crime should not be arrested. And don't forget to not detract from the discussion if you can possibly avoid it. As usual, huge hugs & kisses. xxxxxx
  17. Is that really relevant? No one was arrested presumably because, as Eddie mentioned, no one was breaking the law. Guilty of bad judgement & chronic insensitivity maybe, but not breaking them law. Please can you explain what relevence your assumed conclusion to Eddie's attitude to dead Brits has to the subject? It does rather seem to be veering off in an irrelevant direction. Big hugs, love & kisses
  18. I saw that article in the MEN and thought it was a piece of really lazy journalism. Since that semi at Cardiff where Dickoff brought down Viera and Van Persie ran into Mad Andy's elbow (Ooh Ooh I've split my lip, bring me a stretcher) we have been labelled the dirty team. It seems like we will be labelled a dirty team from here on. Still, it makes a change from the side that "bought the championship." Expect more of the same. Lazy hacks.
  19. Of course you can old chap, the nominations come up sometime in the middle of winter. Very rarely Gordon, Generally I just tend to blindfold myself and hit those keys at random. Absolutely, something we agree on. Love you.xxxx
  20. She's the one. Is she leading a charmed life? (ahem) Or what?
  21. Slightly strange tale from yesterdays Manchester Evening News (I'd do a link to its on-line version but it's not there) A woman from Congleton in Cheshire was on the tube when one of the bombs went off and the whole system stopped. Uninjured, she made her way out and decided to continue her journey by bus. Did she get on any old bus or did she get on "that" bus? Yup, she got on that bus. Remarkably she escaped with just cuts & bruises. If these come in threes she should do the Lottery at the next available opportunity.
  22. (1) Well Gordon, I can't really speak for AS, but did he describe Blackburn with Darwen Council as "his precious?" (2) "Blackburn with Darwen Council has just granted planning..." if by that, Gordon, you mean planning permission, then you are wrong in assuming that the religious stature of the school has anything to do with planning law. BwD BC is a planning authority and as such has to heed PPG1 to PPG 13. Don't worry if you don't know what they are. (3) "we have a council now ridiculously run by a determined minority of just 6." Looks like the voters of BwD have voted. And that is the way the cookie has crumbled Gordon. (4) "and with a racist mayor for good measure eh?" Looks like another reason why you should have voted Gordon. Or even stood for election for the Council. Still, it's easy to sit on the sidelines and gripe. Toodle pip, Mr Grumpy
  23. Flopsy, He might not be posting, but he might just be reading. Colin
  24. OK Smithy, I insulted you because your original post was insulting. The thread started off as a discussion about the bombs in London. 60 dead, 100s injured, and, as you pointed out, rescue workers were picking up parts of bodies in 140 degrees in tunnels with the added bonus of rats hampering the work. And then you re-direct that to one of your "mini-lectures" on illegal immigrants. It was just cheap opportunism to promote your view point on something that has absolutely nothing to do with the bombings. If you can't see that as being insensitive then I pity you.
  25. The top I think.
