You are hopeless. Try sitting down with a cup of tea and digesting my post. A nice packet of hob-nobs too. You've got to learn to take it easy mate. We don't get tornados in Manchester. Some pretty horrible drizzle that really gets you wet.

I think that there is a degree of schaudenfreude with some people over New Orleans. For years the USA has been the global playground bully from Vietnam, to Cuba, to Korea, Chile, Grenada, Afganistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, the list goes on and on. These days we've got The Chimp justifying every thing he does with the words "freedom" and "democracy." Cue whooooping and a holllerring I can quite understand why some people take the attitute that the USA has been busy throwing its weight around the world for 40 years, so a bit of its own medicine (albeit via Mother Nature) is quite welcome*. I just wish that it was called Hurricane Kyoto. * I did say "I can quite understand why". I didn't say I agree** ** Although I do.

With apologies for this, but I've not been paying attention & I've not being paying attention and maybe I'm repeating myself but who is this chap? Apart from a blooming good Scrabble score.

Add this link Add me to the list too. If Bolton think I'm paying £32 they can close the till. I've got other & more important things to spend £32 on. I've been to the Breezeblock for the past few years, but there comes a time when I really don't want to contribute to Sam's wage bill for Spit The Dog. It will be a good day for football when (for example) Everton say to (for example) Tim Cahill "OK, we cannot meet your wage demands, go and find another club that can keep you happy. We've got a player in the youth team who we think can do your job for a tenth of the price, and he's happy to do it." -
waz or the invisible man after the brick here "Duuuurgh grt m8, innit?"

Wez, You should be curled up asleep right next to our little Blackburn Rovers puppy. And as you sleep and dream of chasing things and making all kinds of little snuffling noises, and going on the rampage and biting the postman's leg we will be thinking of you. We will be thinking: "I wonder if he had his bollock chopped off, would he make more sense?"

[Archived] Holiday Reading
colin replied to colin's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
I'll just like to ressurect this thread to mention: Colin Bateman's "Empire State." Harper Collins ISBN 0-00-649802-7 I'm on page 324 of 510. It's funny, political, sarcastic/satirical. There are three disparate stories all heading together to some kind of big ending (which I obviously haven't got to yet) Despite being set in New York & the eastern seaboard of the USA one of the characters is a drag artist called Alexis Mascara. Who comes from Blackburn. I kid you not. He's a good guy and has brought the heroine to a couple of screaming orgasms already. "Only two?" I hear you say.............. -

Not sure where you've got that from, but if you want to back it up with some economics & logic & predict the failings of this lot... Bolton Wanderers 0-1 Everton 25,608 Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Fulham 16,953 Charlton Athletic 1-0 Wigan Athletic 23,453 Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Middlesbrough 35,844 West Bromwich Albion 2-0 Portsmouth 24,404 Birmingham City 1-2 Manchester City 26,366 -
That was one of the best goals I have ever seen at Ewood. Over from the corner flag and then into the net like a bullet. On the volley. Absolutely tremendous.

It was "ARSE" see my post page 14 for a fuller explanation. Still not got round to commenting on Theno's blanket condemnation of all Muslims yet?.
-
Strange that you were silent when Theno accused Muslims of abandoning baby daughters but not for me when I did the same with the Chinese*. Who, by the way, are a nation not a race. * for which I hereby apologise if anyone thought that I was accusing all Chinese people of heading on a mission to eliminate all females.

A good example of "insulting the person who posted " rather than "addressing the post." You posted, we replied, feel free to refute the points made.

Just to be slightly selective in trying to address your Islamaphobia... If you can separate Crufts from "Miss World" you'll be doing OK Our neighbours across the pond in the USA love a good execution & the "Moral Majority" Christians love those executions. I don't suppose the location matters too much And how was your most recent bacon buttie prepared? "Un-ritually slaughtered?" I think that "slaughtered" plain and simple would do for the pig. That's the Chinese. Even you must be taking the mickey on this one. I'm not sure I want to pretend to give a comprehensive list off all religions which have tried to wipe out other religions in the name of "God." So for starters: Christian decimation of Australian Aborigines. Ditto, but total genocide of Tasmanian Aborigines. Christian decimation of South American indiginous population. Ditto North American indiginous population. The Crusades. Let's pop down under again & mention The Maoiris in NZ. There's not really time to go into Africa and the slave trade. And then there's the way that Jews have been treated by European Christians over the past 700 years. Feel free to add other religions but do yourself a favour and spread your religious intolerance a bit wider. I think Buddists are OK though.

Oooh I don't know about that. The word "snidey" usually set you off like a greyhound with a raw chilli up its bottom.

something interesting about wor Matty here scroll down a bit

Just to point out in fairness to Leeds fans, the match was on the telly and the ever loveable Ken Bates has just hiked up the prices. I think it's a bit unreasonable to compare Leeds' fall in attendence with any other club. Has any other club ever crashed so suddenly and spectacularly?

I've got to say I've got a bit of a problem with that solution. It doesn't quite stand up to any sort of analysis Whereas that is clear, concise, and hits the nail on the head.

That Football365.com article is deeply depressing. It's web site I look at often and enjoy its refreshing comments on the game. When a scribe of Philip Cornwell's calibre sinks to parroting the red-top media's perception of us then it is a bad day for Rovers. Maybe he was just having a lazy day. It look likes the label is sticking and we better get used to it being repeated ad-nauseum, until we win a place in Europe via the Fair Play League. At least it replaces the "They Bought The Title" tag. Which, of course, cannot ever be aimed at any other club.

Good grief. there's someone else who knows it. Good choice there 1864. The hand-claps should polish off the job nicely. Put the lyrics on the board over the Darwen End and off we go. Before you can say "Jack Walker" half the Blackburn End will be turning up to the games in full suits of armour. -
[Archived] The Schadenfreude Section
colin replied to FourLaneBlue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
"Schadenfreude" is different from "dislike." I'm enjoying The Red Scum's: Glazer take-over. Put them prices up! Ferdinand being booed by the fans Ferdinand & Horse-face having a spat Their knackering far east tour which may hamper their start to the season The Roy Keane spat with RFW. The millions spent on double Djemba; Kleberson; Bellion; Forlan; Veron.....
