  1. He is by Villa and Hibs fans, the ones that got treated every week. He is phenomenal, and can still improve. The playoff final was a stalemate until he created the first goal and scored the second.
  2. As for selling Raya, then it’s just a stupid idea unless it’s 5m + and you have someone much better lined up for cheap. Still something in the Joe Hart stuff, strikes me as someone Tony would love. Gallagher, ugh...not interested. He is not that different to Brereton. Much rather get Charlie Austin for a year, whilst Brereton develops. Butterworth coming through too as is Jack Vale. Need a Centre Half and Centre Midfielder to go straight into the first team, as a priority.
  3. Fraserkirky Posted May 1, 2018 If your looking for a marquee signing then John McGinn from Hibs is the man. He is leaving Hibs probably for the championship. Price tag of 5m. 23 year old Scottish international. Brilliant centre midfielder ——————————————————- I mentioned John McGinn on this forum a full three months before he signed for Villa. If Tony is needing any help with the scouting department he can shoot me a PM. Man United could do a lot worse than spend 50m on him.
  4. Same idea. If you have Mascherano type defensive midfielder then yeah ball retention is important. Winger?? Not sure if that’s the best compliment
  5. I’m afraid “rarely gives the ball away” might not be best trait for an aging Winger. That suggests he doesn’t have the pace to threaten the by-line and has to cut back inside all the time. Bet you Bennett and Conways ball retention stats from last year are surprisingly impressive for a similar reason, they can’t create separation. Give me a Rothwell or a Chapman anytime even if they lose the ball trying to make something happen. I say this having watched this Mowbray 4-5-1 or the Liverpool 4-3-3 which he has mentioned. Think we will see downing inside more than outside.
  6. Make no mistake about it, our most important players for next season are already at the club. We have a very limited budget by the sounds of things, I can smell what’s cooking here. You don’t make Stewart Downing at 35 your first signing when your desperately trying to shift season tickets. For the record, we have decent squad with a lot of potential, with even more potential coming through with Butterworth, Buckley and Magloire. I’m fine with being skint next year(use to it) but don’t lie to us, and don’t spend 7m on Brereton when we have no money.
  7. You’ve missed Norwich away when I was convinced they stopped running at him cause they felt bad.
  8. Still keeping an eye on Charlie Austin. He is exactly what we are looking for.
  9. As chief tea maker and name taker. General grass and Mowbrays towel boy. Good ol Benno was the natural replacement.
  10. We are absolutely skint. Thank god we have a category A academy. Play them, but don’t feed us the bullshit please. Downing is a crap signing.
  11. Exactly you know what your getting with Hanley, and it just so happens his best attributes are the ones we crying out for.
  12. New Name: Chuks Aneke Free from MK Dons Host of Championship teams want him. Sensational goalscoring box to box midfielder. Believe we played him last year, and he was good if I remember rightly.
  13. Yeah he is going to stay with this I think. Need 7 players: Competition GK - Frank Fielding Free Dominant Centre Half - Grant Hanley Competition at LB - Jake Bidwell New Centre Midfielder - Joe Aribo Resign Rodwell New Right Winger - Tahith Chong on Loan from Man United. New Striker - Jordan Hugill
  14. Hanley is the ugly monster, kick and head anything that moves type of Centre Half that Lenihan needs next to him. The fact that he has ties to Rovers is a bonus. Sign him up Tony, shit give him the armband too.
  15. Expecting some action next week if Mowbray has quite finished with his holibobs. Proper lummox of a centre half would go a long way, someone mentioned a few pages back, but Jake Cooper CH from Millwall is the guy we need.
  16. If we are skint and going I plan B, then you can forget replacing Raya for a start. Have some faith. CB - CM - ST and a couple of loans then.
  17. Classic, had Gallagher in the back of mine. Looked filthy brand new!
  18. Yes to Hugill, no too Bryam way too injury prone, and not a big upgrade on Nyambe for me.
  19. I’ll start the car I’d take a half drank bottle of lilt and a packet of Haribo for Bennett
  20. Would take a 36 old CH over a 36 winger any day of the week. Tell him to bring Baines with him.
