  1. Anyone been watching Mindhunter on Netflix?4 episodes in,first episode was a bit slow but with each episode gets better.Already been renewed for a second series
  2. The pathetic thing is knowing venkys it will be David Lowe who is given the caretaker role. I'd like to see Johnson being given a chance but with the way the club is being run he may not want it.A young manager has to make the right choice when taking their first job in senior football and he may feel he is better waiting for a club with a competent board and structure behind it
  3. It doesn't look like any of these lads will get a chance with Mowbray in charge.I Don't understand it,he is happy to bring in a 17 year old from west brom but won't reward our own youth despite their excellent form. The telegraph should be grilling him about this
  4. Ditto, guess we have Caddis to look forward too again tomorrow
  5. How many of those 70+ appearances where starts? How many where up front on not on the wing when a blind man could see he wasn't a winger
  6. The thing with a player like King is even if he does nothing all game his presence on the field stops the opposition squeezing, the defence can't afford to push up as one decent ball over the top and King would be through on goal as not many defenders would beat him for a pace. Our midfield was so poor at the time and opposition defences could afford to push up with Gestede and Rhodes playing up top.He didn't get many chances playing up front here JH but I can't argue that his attitude or application weren't up to much either.
  7. I'm not excusing his application or attitude but in my opinion if we had a more experienced manager we would have got more out of King.If Mark Hughes had been in charge we would have seen a different Josh King
  8. How did he have chance after chance? He rarely played up front for us and he never had a consistent run of games in all his time here..He was also quite young at the time and I do think a more experienced manager would have got more out of him.Eddie Howe didn't take him to Bournemouth on the back of one game against Stoke he seen potential in him,he didn't start great at Bournemouth but Howe stuck with him and he is now being linked with moves for 20 million. So presumably you would take Gestede back over King too?You speak a lot of sense most the time but saying you would bring back Rhodes over King at this time is madness
  9. He hardly ever played up front though JH.If Mark Hughes or someone of his ilk had been at the football club when King was here then in my opinion we would have seen a lot more of King playing as a frontman and got a lot more out of King. If tomorrow morning Rovers had the choice of signing either Jordan Rhodes or Josh King you would choose Rhodes??
  10. I do get where your coming from but when he was given a game he was put out left. His attitude and application could undoubtedly have been better but Gary Bowyer could have used him better too.King seen himself as a striker but was very rarely played there,i don't lay all the blame on Kings door for his disappointing time here the club could have used him a lot better
  11. King was rarely ever played as a striker though. Not excusing his attitude but I don't know how I'd feel never getting a game in my best position when he has since gone on to prove he has a lot more talent than both Rhodes and Gestede Speaking ofrom King the media are reporting that Everton want to buy him to replace Lukaku I'm sure have a sell on clause
  12. Graham has been a mega disappointment this season. I agree with Tyrone above though,Rhodes wouldn't score goals in this side, currently anyway. We don't create chances, that might change if Mowbray finally decides to start Chapman and play Dack in his position
  13. When he refused to take a penalty in the shoot out in the play offs last season
  14. Assistant I think
  15. Redknapp leaves Big club
  16. I can only speak for myself but my criticism of the Downing signing had nothing to do with him being a sub against us.It looked to be a panic buy,get someone in the door after missing out on Heneghan. He did well at wallsall but when he made the step up to mk dons he wasn't a regular. In fairness bigdogg Mowbray himself probably isn't sold on him,I'm sure mk would have preferred a permanent transfer
  17. He could very well have talent. But he could also be the best of a bad youth team...I don't know. What I do know is West Brom where very short in midfield when he played, they only gave him a two year deal and have shipped him out for a season of that.He doesn't play in a higher age group for England. He could turn out to be a player but at 17 I'm not expecting him to make a telling contribution in which case the signing only serves from preventing our own contracted youth gaining experience
  18. You said brilliant....Ito in the deadline day thread
  19. I don't give a crap about my views being questioned..if i get things wrong I will admit it.I already stated I hope to be proven wrong on the signings I critized but I haven't been proven wrong on Downing,Hunt,Antonnson and Harper yet.And you haven't been proven right. If you had made the post you did after a few games fair enough....but it was one game and the post was in bad taste as we had just won 3-0 and should have been enjoying the win not trying to get a reaction
  20. I'm at work it's in the deadline day thread.I don't make crap up.I was tooing and flowing with someone else about the potential Harper signing, you said it would be brilliant if he was a permanent signing.
  21. I'm not the only one questioning your post....wind up merchant
  22. You said he would be a brilliant signing after watching him for twenty minutes on the telly.
  23. You posted the second the match was over. You didn't give anyone a chance to go into hiding.Just admit your post was made in bad taste
  24. We have our own fans labelling Harper brilliant without ever seeing him kick a ball. Its madness. Nothing beats seeing a young player coming through the system and cementing their place in the first 11.In my opinion anyway. I just think its sad we are bringing in a young player from West Bromwich when we have our own talented youngsters. No long term planning. It's being said that Mowbray must not think our group are ready. How can he know Harper is ready when he has played hardly any senior football. Like Parson said our talented group could all break through but it won't be with us.When they leave after becoming frustrated at a lack of chances I won't blame them one bit
  25. You would have to expect that Mowbray gave assurances to West Brom that Harper will get minutes and bringing him in suggests to me that Mowbray doesn't see the likes of Tomlinson or Hardcastle in his plans for the first team.Likewise the signing of Hunt doesn't really show much faith in Doyle. I can't remember who said it but it was posted on here in the Summer that at the fans meeting Mowbray said he didn't see the reasoning behind a league 1 club having a cat 1 academy, as it costs too much and the money it takes to run it could be added to the first team budget. And we could instead pick up some young players released by other clubs.Maybe Mowbray is trying to make a point to the owners with these signings. Admittedly I have seen no way as much of the youth team as you and others on here, but from what I have seen we look to have a very promising group. These lads deserve a chance and I'm afraid if they don't get a chance when contracts are up they won't renew and other clubs will benefit and again like Mahoney we will lose out Maybe Kinder seen this coming and that's why he chose to leave
