  1. Not looking good the report says they've managed to contain the fire to the pub and not into the adjacent properties.
  2. Wants instant success I guess and that's the way he think's he'll get it. Not sure if Harris will do it for them either. I've got to say I'm quite enjoying it, my friend who is a fairweather Man U / Salford fan, was going on about how they're going to be challenging for the title bla bla. Keep sending her screen shots of the results page on bbc
  3. His wife. Though a strange situation it has already happened in RL, the chief execs of Leeds ans Wakefield are husband and wife I think.
  4. Last I read about Bradford was that Mandy Koukash wanted to buy them but the RFL just didnt want it. Seems very short sighted that someone who wants to put money into the game isnt being allowed to.
  5. On the way to St Helens on Friday I went past a takeaway at the end of a row of terraced housing, which also had a billboard on the side. In big letters above it said TAKEAWAY and underneath this photo Not sure if it will help or hinder the takeaways reputation!!
  6. Really enjoyed the game yesterday, especially Farrell's try just after half time which pretty much killed St Helens off. Just a pity we zoomed to Ewood afterwards to watch that shambles!
  7. I've just finished it and I really liked it. There's a whole long scene in Ep 4 I think which is brilliant, think its the longest uncut scene in a TV show.
  8. I read that some years ago they did a draw with Barrow in, who had just got knocked out in the previous round! Genius.
  9. Sparticus is rubbish!! Did anyone see Line of Duty on bbc the other week? I thought it was really good so ended up watching the first series online after the second.
  10. Didn't know where to put this but has anyone else seen it? http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/fans-from-lancaster-city-fought-players-management-from-ramsbottom-united-at-a-match-v-radcliffe-borough/ Lancaster were playing Radcliffe Borough yesterday. The players/fans from Ramsbottom United turned up and everyone had a bit of a fight!
  11. Well a decent though slightly unconvincing win by Wigan this afternoon. Really need to sort this kicking out cos it was crap again!! However good to see some more of the youngsters playing. Looking forward to seeing more of them as the season goes on. As an aside, I bought the WCC shirt before the WCC. Of course it wasn't available in time before the WCC. Got an email on Thursday to collect it, so I went to Wigan town today, shop is closed. Brilliant! They make Rovers look like an organised and efficient outfit!!
  12. Lots of new players this year and lots of young uns. Will take a bit of time but Wigan will be right! They've only lost one in the league against same team they lost first game to last year. WCC was always going to be a tough ask.
  13. Ahh Wigan....needed a better start to the game last night!! Did well to get closer into it in the second half but Roosters were just too strong. Wigan's kicking needs to improve massively, losing 2 points with every try is going to hurt us. Was a big crowd on, but so weird that there's not been a single bit of advertising that I've seen the entire two weeks I've been here. But has been ace!!
  14. Well, things can only get better! Bit like the start of last season, just didn't quite seem with it. The kicking (and handling) was especially awful. Hope they get it together for Sydney!! I know it will take a little while to gel with all the new players. It will end up alright within a few weeks. Other point....whats happened to the pies?!? My mum went to get me a cheese pie, come back with steak pie. It was horrid and it mostly ended on the floor. Then she proceeded to tell me that they've changed from pooles to hollands....so no wonder it was crap!
  15. For those of you who like Alberts shed, their new one in Salford is due to open on next Friday. It's on the East Lancs between Swinton and Worsley. If you sit on the balcony you get a lovely view of the petrol station next door!
  16. A couple of people I know who support 1.FC Union Berlin were on the Union Partyzug yesterday. The train which has two bar carriages and two disco carriages left Berlin just before 3am and arrived at Kaiserslautern at 11am. Party all the way there. Union got beat 3-0 and everyone got on the party train all the way back home. http://www.union-foto-hupe.de/udb/thumbnails.php?album=507 Sounds ace. I reckon we should organise one for Burnley away...see what Lancashire Police have to say about that!! :D
  17. Oh I'm not expecting England to win, but looking forward to seeing both NZ and Australia. Actually going to Wembley twice this week...not expecting an England win either time!
  18. Wasn't great but just enough to go though. Apart from the pre-match 'last night at the proms' thing going on, which was brilliant, the whole thing just seemed flat - both the team and the crowd. Never seemed to be much of an option for the player in possession, the team looked like it had never played together. But stupidly just gone and bought some semi final tickets....
  19. Watched the Tonga vs Scotland game on tinterweb. What a great but crap game of rugby. The handling, catching, decision making was all pants but all made for a very good game. Just about every try decision went to Ashley Klein the video ref....including the last one late in the 79th minute which probably should've been a try for Tonga!!
  20. Maybe, but they've got to realise that some places just aren't going to be interested. I've just been looking for example for tickets for the game in Limerick (bargain at £205 from Manchester airport!!). I reckon there's about 2000 of them have been sold. It's going to cost them more to get everyone there and put a game on than they'll make in ticket revenue.
  21. I dunno about anyone else but I just can't get excited about this World Cup. I think the fact that the only big game of the group stages England vs Australia is miles away in Cardiff, and half the other games are in far flung places, has narked me.
  22. Do you know what that green flashy light is about 5 meters next to the clock is? Drives me bonkers!
