  1. Messi has just scored a lovely goal to put Barca ahead. Very close in La Liga with them both on on 62 points and a goal difference of 2 before todays game. Also, my German team St Pauli eventually stopped a winless run, winning 5-3. Still in 3rd, would be ace to see them in the Bundesliga.
  2. Inter in a bit of trouble having had two players sent off before half time. Jose just about sending out his players after half time, after over 20 minutes
  3. Nice little video about how special effects in films have changed from 1900 to now http://dailyshite.com/2009/08/100-years-of-special-effects/ I've been waiting for this for ages. I've watched all the cartoons on telly and have a couple of the books. Was originally meant to be called Avatar like the telly programme, but was never going to win that one.
  4. Last week I used seatwave to get Billy Connolly tickets. I don't really like using stuff like tht but it was ok. I paid £40 for each ticket (face value was £25), there was was £13 seatwave fees and £8 postage - arrived by UPS. It is not ideal but you are protected if the tickets do not arrive - they refund everything. The other place I have once bought tickets from is Gumtree.
  5. I don't know if you've seen this from last week, as good a sending off as you're likely to see! Buffon Sending Off
  6. I can't see SA getting out of a group with France, Mexico and Uruguay. Sout Africa are terrible at the moment, they didn't even qualify for the African Nations which has such football giants as Mozambique and Gabon in it!!
  7. Lincoln vs Cheltenham The link just got a bit broken. The pair of them got sent off the bench!
  8. From the headline of that article: FFS, how hard is it?
  9. I'd really prefer us not to sell Benni, but if we could bring in someone better than ok. However I have a bad feeling that the other person is going to be Nathan Ellington - it has been in the telegraph a few weeks ago (in the middle of the Burnley celebrations) and that would most definately be a step backwards.
  10. Yea but to quote Joe Royle who has said this over and over "this isn't Everton's best team." I know I'd be a bit naffed off had I gone abroad to watch Rovers and we played like this.
  11. Andy Todd in trouble again for "assault": http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,26201312-5000940,00.html
  12. He is now the physio at Lancaster City according to Wikipedia.
  13. I think that they should have to default their next game as punishment. The fact it is against us is just coincidence
  14. That was kind of my point about being the best at 16 doesn't necessarily translate into anything, not being specific about Donnelly really. Those 10 players who didn't make it weren't all victims of bad management, not being put in the first team etc etc. although there seems to be a big trend of non-progression. I would suggest it is quite common if you look through other season's U16 squads to see who made it. I remember watching a show about youth football, it was a documentary about Lilleshaw before it was closed. It was a similar situation there. Out of the group of 20 or so lads who moved in at 15 years old, the only one to make it was Alan Smith who actually decided to leave really early because he was homesick. The only two players I can remember watching in the Victory Shield on sky who went onto big things are Owen and Joe Cole. Surely there are others but I can only remember them.
  15. He ended up at Fleetwood then some team in Northern Ireland called Glenavon. Just goes to show that just because you're good at u16 doesn't mean you're going to make it at all.
  16. It is a bit stupid that teams spend all season trying their best to get in the UEFA Cup, then when they get there hardly even try to win. All seems rather pointless!!
  17. Barca beating Bayern Munich 4-0 at half time. Barca are just awesome!
  18. Bayern Munich just beat Sporting 7-1, making it 12-1 on aggregate! I'd be quietly confident that Rovers wouldn't get beat 12-1 in the Champions League even against Bayern.
  19. But unfortunately it does not work here in England I used to listen to it rather a lot, but I think it finally stopped working about a year ago.
  20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7683007.stm Bohemian Rhapsody with every word replaced with a footballers name
