Well said. Lots of delusional posts about 'Big Sam' football with the squad we've got, and delusional posts in general about getting a 'Souey' type manager back in cos he'd get us promoted ffs! Souey had the best squad in the Championship, I'm pretty sure JDT would get us promoted with Duff, Dunn, Jansen, Short, Berg, Friedel, Hignett, Berkovic etc

We are now back to pre-1992 as a football club (with a slighter bigger fanbase and a far bigger wage bill). Problem is most teams in this division now have more money than us. Back in pre-1992 finances in the old Div 2 were more equal.

We play the best football in the league IMO, with a team of Academy graduates, free transfers,  loans.  We only paid fees for 3 of the starting XI last night (CB, SS and LW). That's where we are as a club.

We also had 7 first teamers missing last night, and at the very least should have got a point.

If people think we're going to start playing percentages and flying into the play-offs they really are delusional.

I think JDT is a fantastic manager, learning as he goes and adapting best he can. The problems are above him, as any rational person would acknowledge.

Pre 92 football are we ???

Hendry, Sellers ,Garner , Barker , Price thats off the top of my head ...We have no one in the team fit to lace their boots !

I think , we are more like the last days of Saxton !!

Rovers are playing possibly the best football outside the PL. I can’t remember the last time it was as good as we’re seeing now. We don’t want to lose that do we? We want to build on it surely.

what needs to happen is that those above JDT need to realise what we have and give him what he needs.

Each to their own , I dont go away anymore so cant comment on those games...

Last night was our 5th defeat at home this season and its only November ..

    Worrying stat !

We will always be a nearly team under these owners, as every year they will sell players and we have to rebuild. So, it will be starting again every season. They just want us selling players and making money. Totally Groundhog Day.

We wont be a nearly team with these owners , we will be a Division one team next season or the season after !

Something as to change and bloody quickly ...

The owners won’t allow it. Broughton/JDT are only allowed to bring in players with re sale value.

I would imagine the reason we don’t bring in more physicality and big buggers is because they’re naturally less adept at playing the ‘creating value’ way too (in addition to the age factor above).

Well if that is the case , I am finished after this season .

The club may as well fold !

He definitely has talent as a coach but needs to work on his in game management and his ability to tweak his system to change a game. He got shafted by the club I have to agree there and yeah if he had 3/4 more players it would probably be a different story. Just a frustrating situation all round. I can be critical of some thing but to be fair he's done a decent job given the circumstances.

You can't play Pep football with below average Championship players end of ..

We have a side that is physically very very weak all over the pitch...

Preston over powered our light weights most of the game ....We need players who can stand up to the rigours of the Championship and fight fire with fire ..

It is mid November, the last 4 home games have been poor , it could be a very very long Winter!

We may need to sell in January!

We're absolute shit when chasing a result, not the first time this season we've battered a team only to get robbed at the end. To be fair, the PNE attack looked more dangerous than ours, it seems like we need at least 2-3 exceptional individual touches to get to a goal while they got by with just throwing bodies forward at the right opportunities.

Markanday can't be here next season, he's currently filling up a place in the squad but beyond that I don't see it happening for him, another player that needs way too much in order to get in on goal or create a chance. Moran was our best player, A Wharton some good passes and interceptions but plays his defensive game at a very high risk. Sigurdsson uneven but shouldn't have been subbed unless he was absolutely knackered, which he did't look.

Impossible for Sigdursson to be knackered, he has  done absolutely nothing for a month ...

We won't because we have a massively underfunded team and shit owners. JDT is doing the best he can steering a broken down ship full of holes through the storm. At best we'll finish mid-table, but for Rovers in this division that can never be considered a 'good season'.

If nothing happens in January (new players ready made ), we will finish in the bottom 6 !

We battered them and should have been out of sight by HT.

You'd suggested we had much to fear; we absolutely did not.

They won, but even the blindest of blind men could see that we were far superior tonight.

I must have watched  a different game and I attended Ewood tonight ...

    Men against boys ..

There's no fight in the team and are physically very very weak...

Sigardsson is a waste of space ...

Preston were a big team , who didn't overplay in their own half .. Getting the ball quickly , something we can't do ..

The last minute of injury , we were playing the ball  across the back line , it was pathetic....

I would add Britain, Hill, Sigardsson and Morton, so that is 8 of the outfield 10.

When I have seen Sigardsson he has been terrible , Britain very in and out and a bit chicken ..Hill is a Bournemouth player who I think is a good footballer .

That’s two months away. Mike Newell came back from a broken leg quicker than that

I’m really concerned about the number of players we have who are unavailable for selection. Are the medical team at the club up to the task ?.

Funny how players are unavailable through injury , when the team is struggling....

1997/98 is a season I'm really quite fond of. It felt at the time like we'd found our 'new Kenny' with how we started that season. The 7-2 win over Sheffield Wednesday is iconic. The way it panned out for Roy at Rovers really saddens me when you look at the career he went onto have.

I don't think Roy achieved much , where the expectations were high ...Rovers at the time we're top 6 , Liverpool don't ask !! Far better at managing where the expectations were much lower....Think he disappeared abroad after Rovers for a couple of years ...

    Are those questions:

    1. What position did you play for your former club?

    2. Can you catch anything?

    3. If the fullback has 4 opposition players around him, should you throw it to him or smash it down field?

4 Seriously have you played goalkeeper before coming to Blackburn?

I get feeling Pears will be back in the team , when he recovers from injury.

Mowbray's figures are boosted by a year in League One. JDT is easily number one.

With the players at his disposal - you'd argue that Bowyer should have done better.

Bowyer  , should certainly have done a lot better!

Mowbray managed us for 267 games , which s a lot by modern standards...

Unlikely JDT will reign that long but if he does , I suspect he will be below Mowbray !

It’s a total joke, instigated by the 6/7 richest clubs at the expense of the several hundred all the way down the pyramid that rely on FA cup money.

International appearances aside, it’s a complete fallacy that top end Premier League sides play more. If you’re a decent L1 team you’re playing 46 league games, potentially play offs, long EFL trophy run plus whatever you get in league cup and FA cup - sure that averages out as more than most Premier League sides, with far smaller squads and much poorer facilities. This moaning about elite sportsmen, in their 20/30s playing too much will never ever make sense to me. They should be fucking grateful of the chance to do it for a living.

It is the International friendlies and the non sensical Nation's Cup , that needs to be scrapped asap !
