The more I think about this the more I think if I was in charge I’d:

    • Keep Lowe etc in charge for the rest of the season (the safest way to ensure the team’s camaraderie remains)
    • Spend most my energy on tying key players down to longer term deals.

I await all the replies saying they’re glad I’m not in charge 😁😁

Plus saving a wage on a manager!

Venkys could well appoint Lowe in the  hope that  he fails.

To be clear, not saying I want him at all, just that there’s a lot of noise about it on social media. That being said I also saw a post praising Waggott and Venky’s for so many good signings in the window….

My first choice remains Sam, have a feeling Carsley will definitely be high up the list given his track record with youth players and the fact we’re most likely going to be relying on ours more and more the next few seasons as it stands.

Carsley wouldn't last 6 months with ur moronic owners..

No pressure on being England U21 manager dealing with talented players..

I can't really see Sam coming back but he is the one, I would give it too..

This is really sad news . He couldnt have been that old.

I got to know him a bit a few years ago when he was Landlord of the Royal Oak on Pleckgate Rd. Really nice guy.

    RIP Paul.

Is that the same Pub that Andy Burgin had ?

Eustace has been harping on all season about how he wants to create a togetherness between the fans and the club whilst at the same time has been applying for every job under the sun.

We all know Venkys are shite to work for and any decent manager would do their background checks before taking on the role. To have us sat in the play offs and then to walk out on the club is a dick move in my eyes.

Do you think Venkys backed him in the transfer window ?

Same question applies to JDT and Mowbray .

I find it a bit odd that Derby seem to be having difficulty concluding negotiations with Eustace given how desperate he understandably is to get away from the circus at Ewood.

Maybe it's just me unrealistically hoping he'll come back.

Technically he's still our manager I guess?

Shitshow/shambles you name it. None of it Eustace's fault. The Club removed their right to be aggrieved when they either insisted upon or agreed to the get out clause in his contract.

I might be wrong here but if he threatened to resign in the Summer ala JDT , just maybe Waggott & Pasha wanted rid of him , hence the strange statement yesterday ..

    Scored on his debut

    RIP Paul

He did, remember it like yesterday at the Blackburn End  1977?

Might gave been a bit later, I think he played at Liverpool on cold January night, when Kenny scored the winner near the end..

  8. Uncle Jack's Poem.

I have never written a poem before; I don't see any point in rhyme.
It never appeals to us working class; It's just a waste of time.
Well now is a bit different, I need to tell you how I feel.
And in some small way pay tribute to the Blackburn man of steel.
It's vital not to miss the point; football is not a bit of fun.
It's pride and passion, skill and strength all rolled into one.

It's not about Man Utd, Chelsea and some foreign fancy Dan.
It's Blackburn, Preston, Burnley, that's where it all began.
Where what you see is what you get, but don't show how you feel.
But I'm making my exception for the Blackburn man of steel.
I really need to thank him for the pride he gave us back.
Just for a while we were the best, thanks to Uncle Jack.

Few people have the vision to make a dream come true.
For the beauty of Jack Walker's was - we got an invite too.
Some saw him as a rich old man who bought a winning team
But for me they miss the point; he bought us all our dream.

I think it's maybe true to say it could not last forever
But then again I'm certain that it's better once than never
And even if those winning ways never do come back
They can't take away the memories, thanks to Uncle Jack.

Hendry, Sutton, Batty, Shearer, the names roll of the tongue
But "There's only one Jack Walker" is still the Rovers' song.
So forget the players' agents in their smart Armani suits,
And raise a glass to Uncle Jack, a man who knew his roots.

It is time this got another airing

15 years ago we lost thousands of season ticket holders. Those were the real protesters wether they be bandwagon or not.

Now we are left with a few old farts with plenty of reason to complain but do nowt along with the younger generations who know nowt. Total apathy to my way of thinking. It is what it is until that vermin have gone.

All credit to those who come up with new ideas in way of protest etc etc but sorry to say it's a waste of time. In fact it's been going on 15 years!  And nothings changed or likely to.

We have 4000 adult season tickets, that will halve if the owners have not departed by July.. I will be one of them!!

While the long term perspective of Rovers is poor, the short term should be an exciting opportunity for out of work managers. Taking a short term contract for a play off push and possible promotion you would think could attract better candidates than we’ve had in the past. No one in their right mind would sign on for more than the current campaign, but for 15 matches we should be able to get a quality manager.

    Highly unlikely!

The club is rotten to the Core!

I think he would’ve been doing well to have our head above the relegation zone waters.

Last season, most of us on here were sure we’d go down this season, even if we survived last.

He hasn’t Szmodics this season, and you could hardly say he was well backed to replace him in the Summer.

Had we appointed a less competent head coach, we’d now be languishing at the foot of the table.

Even then , we wouldn’t really be blaming said head coach.

Anything could happen now, but with so many contracts running down, and loanees, a further descent is a likely outcome.

Thanks to Eustace and his assistants, we won’t be sweating on the last day of the season.

    Good post...
