He literally has no money to work with. I'm not sure what people expect him to do.

We clearly have nothing in the transfer budget as we can't even stretch to paying £500k upfront for a player and we clearly have nothing in the wage budget as we've loaned out Buckley and then Travis to balance the books.

He had to sell to keep the lights on in the summer and undoubtedly A. Wharton will leave in 6 months to balance the books (with no money going to the playing side of the club, again).

It’s very odd that he seems to get revered like the best of our managers of the last 30 years. Even in L1 he served up some dross with a good squad for that league.

    Dalglish, Souness, Hughes, Mowbray.

Dalglish, Souness, Kendall , Hughes, Mackay Allardyce ,Smith ,Saxton for me ..

Saxton didnt have a pot to piss in but his knowledge of English football was far superior to JDT's will ever be.....

It came to an end but he got the very best out of every player for  3 seasons...

Lose to them in our next league game and I will start to get concerned.

Huddersfield, Stoke and Milwall are all dreadful too though.

Yes but are their respective managers crap ?

Who will twist and who will stick

If Allardyce & Warnock were appointed to two of the clubs below us , we would be in panic station Zebra ....

Personally, I think the cushion will just keep us up..But it will be scary !

What marks this game out for me is the way that the media now refers to us as 'Struggling Blackburn'. The writing is now not only on the wall, its wrapped around your flaming fish and chips too.

What has happened to the crisp passing, penetrating runs and ability to hold onto the ball? We look miles off the mark these past 8 games, and there is no cutting edge to our forward play, just endless tippy tappy short pass/ shoulder shrugging lack of taking responsibility.

    Somethings gotta change.

The home games have been very poor all season , not a lot as changed ..

Davies had to write off about 150 million when he sold Bolton and it's simple really if you want to actually sell a struggling club you have to write off the 'on paper' amount it stands you at.

Otherwise you'll never ever shift it because it's only worth whatever its physical assets are worth and whatever turnover it might have.  So there is no point in even considering anything other than Venkys having to write off c200 million in order to shift Rovers if they wanted or were forced to sell it.

They can easily afford it anyway otherwise they'd have dropped the club years ago i don't buy for one min they spend 10/20 mill per year to 'save face'.  That's just away with the fairies stuff i'm afraid, they keep this club because they want to and for some reason it suits them, or some of them.

Exactly, diabolical owners don't hang around  for 13 years , there is a reason why they still want the club .It is certainly not for the love of Blackburn Rovers !

it was clear from the moment he set foot in  brockhall that jdt did`nt rate him, same with telalovic, thats on the recruitment dept, the same lot us that brought us the worst goalkeeper in the history of football and the amazingly bad clinton mola,im`e amazed that jdt is still here tbh,he`s been dealt bad hands every since he landed

Our great manager picked Mola to play at Turf Moor ...Let that one sink in !

It would clearly need to be an out of work manager as these people won't pay and compensation. And that really narrows the search down. Eustace is probably the best option in that category.

I too think Huddersfield is a huge game and my worry is our poor defending. It's strange though as our kamikaze defensive play wasn't really an issue until December since when we have conceded 24 league goals and from memory a big chunk of them have come directly from pretty much unenforced errors.

I think the present goalkeeper is partly responsible for that , however bad Pears is , he is a vastly superior goalkeeper to Leo .

Nobody taking responsibility, nobody winning their own individual battle and nobody putting their body on the line. You could’ve said that about every goal other than the Asante bottom corner one.

JDT either doesn’t want too, or cannot seem to make us anything but “weak as piss”. I think it’s time for him to go.

Football teams usually mirror their manager ...

'weak as piss' spot on !

The highlight of my day was leaving the ground as the added time board went up and there were 3-4 lads in the concourse shouting 'we want Venkys out'. It wasn't much but in the depths of despair it was a welcome relief that at least a small number of the people who go 'get it'

I sat til the bitter end so didn't here that .. Venkys probably didn't even now we were playing, it as got to be aimed at Waggott..

Make a match day very very uncomfortable for Waggott..

So, you think if LT was playing well week in week out and not being kept out of the team, JDT would have got rid?  LT hasn't been  up to CM in this division for a while.

Knickers in a twist on this point.  I'd like to see the 2 replacements before we start hankering after someone who's done fuck all for at least 2 seasons.

I do still think it's a shit show but LT now being the best player ever by not being here is plain stupid.

You have a point but the club captain, should not have been sent out on loan in the circumstances we find ourselves.

Why weren't the new players playing today ?? Brittain at left back was worse than dire , again !

He couldnt tackle a fish supper !

On another note from today’s game, the stewarding from the senior members of security in the away stand was completely over the top, confrontational and classic jobsworths’ mentality. I saw one of them escorting a kid of about 14 down some stairs kneeing him in the back. They do not have the right to assault people. I’m firmly of the opinion that all stewards should have a name tag on their uniform so that incidents like this can be reported. I know every team has some pillocks, but some of the stewarding  I saw today was cringeworthy, and it seemed like some wanted trouble so that they could play the tough guy role.

Always been the same in the West Midlands , especially their constabulary !

Has JDT or anyone given an explanation as to why Szmodics wasn't in the squad today?

Genuine question. I've been away most of the day.

I was told just before Xmas that Szmodics was on the Ipswich radar, now this week  Gallagher is on it..

Travis is all ready there , something is happening !
