How do you know we are waiting for the last day of the window?
"as opposed to" ie that's what we usually do. I have no idea whether that will be the case this time round or not.
But, if it is, it represents a step backwards given that 2 lists were drawn up weeks ago and TM has said he wants the transfer business done early.
Can't quite follow why I'm being criticised for supporting the management's aims and intentions. I agree with him---don't you?

I agree. 47er that’s a poor post. Not one team has had a flyer. It’s very early days.
Dear oh dear! Getting off to a flyer IN THE NEW SEASON! (on account of having all our ducks in a row as opposed to waiting for closing time on the last day of the transfer window.)
When did we last do that?
-
And so what? I didn't make up the 2 lists nor TM wanting to get his transfer business done early.
For once, wouldn't it be good to get off to a flyer?

He wants a 30 year old, Chaddy wouldn’t sign anyone over 29 so that will be an interesting reaction when it happens.
Big week ahead, Mowbray said he wanted the majority in before the pre season trip so it will be a sign things aren’t working as planned if we don’t sign 3-4 this week.
When's was it that we were told the the club had compiled 2 lists of targets? April? One list was for if we were still in League 1 this coming season, the other for if we were promoted.
TM said at the time the he wanted to get the transfer business over early!
We all applauded----I assume! I know I did!
Al this is now forgotten apparently and complacency has returned. We'll be alright on the night.
Looks very much to me that Venkys have put their pen away. In which case we are in serious trouble.

No major surgery needed to the squad says Mowbs but it takes a brave man not to strengthen this side with the quality of opposition we will face in this league.I'm not all that confident he's been backed by the Pune Loons tbh...time will tell.
Most of us thought over the summer that we would need 5 or 6 signings. We're down anyway withe return of loanees to their home club
So that is major surgery and it is necessary.
Only explanation?----Venkys not backing the manager?
Next few weeks will tell.

I think Dack has been as clear as he could ever possibly be that he's happy here and looking forward to the Championship challenge. I've seen no indication from him that he has any intention of moving to another Championship club.
Given that he has spent his career to date in League One/Two, most of it at Gillingham, I doubt he's going to be demanding mega money or silly figures to stay. We would have given him an increase on Gillingham and another increase on that to reflect his importance to the club would be appropriate. He can hardly turn around and demand £30k a week given he's never kicked a ball in the Championship.
Of course there is an alternative theory - that either Rovers haven't got round to offering him a new deal yet or that whatever offer has been made is nowhere near what it should be for a player of his importance. Of course negotiations ought to have commenced the day after the Doncaster win to get him tied down to a long term Championship standard contract, same for Lenihan, but with Venkys at the helm I can't see it.
To some extent I can understand a reluctance on Rovers' part given Dack is completely untested at Championship level but that won't help if other clubs come knocking. Sooner or later you have to be bold and brave and give him the contract rather than allow risk or uncertainty to develop. Losing him would be a crushing blow in a number of ways.
He hasn't played in the championship yet but I don't see him as a risk. He'll obviously find it harder but his I believe his skills are translatable to this division.
Plenty of clubs will give him the chance if we don't ,I'm certain of that.

Flippancy does you know favours in this debate OG, and if you think releasing Craig without a single wideman on the books is a good idea, I dread to think how you’d manage a football team.
Well presumably he'd sign someone else!

I can’t understand why some on here are not employed as football managers such is the knowledge shown by some of our members.
Stop winding yourselves and other people up. It’s silly season and now the sun has gone in I expected more of a common sense approach. Truth is we are reading constant drivel, bickering and slagging and inane comments.
TM will sign players that complement our current squad. He will if it when he is ready NOT because of a whim and prayer of some supporters.
my view is stop beating yourselves up, wait and see what happens.
we are in good hands, we witnessed that last season. Until someone on here comes up with stuff from inside the club it’s all pure speculation and that’s all. Wait for BRFc to make an announcement and chill the Kean out!???
You seem to be forgetting that it was TM himself who said he wanted to get the transfer issues settled as early as possible.
You can hardly blame fans who are uncomfortable that no new players have been signed yet.
Plenty of time left yet obviously but this club has a history under Venkys of too little too late.

I'll be a lot happier when Dack signs a new contract.
He does have 3 years on his existing contract. He won't be going anywhere.
If he does its Armageddon and time to throw season tickets on the pitch!
More concerned that Lenihan isn't tied up yet.

I could never figure that one out. First time I saw him play for Utd I said to myself " Bloody hell, they're got another star in the making there ". When he came to Rovers I thought he looked a good player and when we got promoted I thought " Well we're OK at right back. ". Then he just faded out of the picture. I don't think he got injured. Strange.
Wasn't he an ever-present in the promoted side but never in the picture after that? Though I think he might have played one or two League Cup games.

"Bloody glad you ain't manager" is "an Insult" worthy of complaining about Chaddy? Get real.
-
The Queen won't understand a word he says! Keep it simple Kenny!
-
Hasn't Dack got 3 years left on his contract? Can't see why on earth we should let him go whatever the offer.
He can stay with us and increase his value----win/win. Either grasp the new enhanced contract or stay on the old one. With 3 years left the club holds all the aces.
If, by some miracle we were to be promoted in a couple of seasons, he wouldn't need to leave at all.

Yes that's right. Cattle slaughter and the sale of beef were banned in many states in India. So Venky's made massive profits from extra poultry sales. Share prices rose accordingly.
There could be indications of a change in legislation which will put beef back on the menu so speculators are selling Venky's shares while they are still relatively high.
The worst that is likely to happen that the shares return to pre beef-ban levels ( when Venky's decided they needed to sell Cairney, Gestede etc !)

TBF Chaddy said "knowledge" of this league not experience.
How you could have experience of this league without gaining the knowledge is beyond me but Coyle managed it.

The world of football reporting/discussion is strewn with cliche as I'm sure you've noticed.
Gross exaggeration has kicked off many a furore on here so I'll keep pointing it out.
