    Another great write up DE.

The last one was a painful trip down memory lane, this time, I was nearly laughing. What an absolute BS merchant K**n is. Looking back at the quotes in here just shows how delusional he really was.

Mental to think he believed so much of his own bullplop.

I don't think he did believe it. Just playing with us really. Made him rich, what did he care?

His record with money was virtually 100 percent.

freebies some were nominal outgoings like petshi, some made money like koita and some provided experience like varney, some were key like kilgallon who we should have kept knowing we were selling both Duffy and Hanley. He's better than a Lenihan or Greer.

some were just @#/? like delfouneso but what can you do when your reduced to scrapping around.

Delfuenso! If that wasn't a dodgy agent deal, what was it? He had nothing! Reached that conclusion in his first game in his first game, never seen a worse debut and was told on here to"give him a chance"!

Couldn't even make Blackpool's starting line-up in the League 2 final!! If Bowyer is such a great spotter of players, what possible excuse has he for that one? Were we still in the hands of agents? Over to Jal!

Yes. At least, I expect them to give us some decent service first.

Barker, Dunny and Duff were difficult enough.

Jones was a scandal, as I think Mahoney will turn out to be, as well.

If I am really going to wallow in my pain, here is a list of pre-Walker departures in my time that were like bereavements:

    Keith Newton

    Kenny Knighton

    Eamonn Rogers

    Tony Field

    Roger Jones

    John Bailey

    Kevin Hird

    Simon Barker

    Colin Hendry ( first time)

    Heaven knows I'm miserable now!

In the recent past we have had a situation with similarities. Kean picked an under strength team at Cardiff in the League Cup Quarter Final and Rovers fans were enraged by this. I recall this board going into meltdown. To be fair this was compounded by his stupid 'forfeit' comment. In my opinion it's exactly the same principle that fans pay good money and should be given the strongest team available on the day. With eight days between games Huddersfield have no excuse for not playing the nucleus of players who won at Wolves.

They will receive a token fine with a suspended threat not to do it again from a weak EFL Board.

    Rev please note!

  5. What Huddersfield did was probably to send us down. Relegation should not be a lottery, depending on which team you play when.

The problem is that the punishment ie a fine, is nowhere near sufficient to deter would-be wrong-doers and every year sees the rule broken with impunity. And the football authorities do nothing as usual.

In the end though, we are in this vulnerable position because of short-comings throughout the squad and throughout the Club which have been obvious and nothing was done about them either.

No one used to complain when big Sam clearly used to prioritise games........

I agree with your point about docking PL income but again the problem is it's an extremely subjective issue. What's deemed reasonable for a "big" club to do might not be the same as for a "smaller" club.

I can clearly remember people complaining.

Wow I genuinely didn't know it was a rule! I disagree with it completely but if a rule's brokenthen punish away

Clubs have been fined under this rule before but it's redundant. How many clubs rest players before a "less important" Cup game? We have for a start on many occasions. It's the only way Josh King got to play!:o

I suppose the issue here is the sheer number of changes. It's  pretty much giving them the game.

Hopefully next week Brum will play a full-strength side and not get 2 penalties !

Its their call. They were well within their rights to rest players. Rovers problems are of their own making

So true! It's failure to beat Bristol City or Burton Albion or Preston or Barnsley at home which has put us in this position.

When you perform so ineptly all season you can't blame others.

The players that are under contract will allegedly take a pay cut, I heard that one in three staff will lose their jobs but I would be amazed if the likes of Cheston and Senior will be affected financially.

It would be interesting to know how many staff we employed pre Indians to how many there will be next season if we go down.

Ordinarily a substantial pay-cut would be a big incentive for our players to avoid relegation but since very few of them will be playing for us next season I don't suppose its any incentive at all.

Sorry for the late reply Chaddy; just seen your post.

I'm not entirely sure how many players are involved in this but I think I can speculate with a degree of accuracy.

Steele- I wanted him replaced months ago. Mowbray knows him of old. I believe Mowbray wanted Raya in several games earlier but didn't want to destroy Steele. When Steele visibly demonstrated an 'injury' the other week during a home game (Preston?), I didn't believe he was genuinely injured. I think his confidence is completely shot and he wanted to be rested.

Hoban- I know some like him but I haven't been impressed since his return. Wasn't he dropped for the last game? A strange decision if true. Isn't he a loanee and therefore leaving soon?

Feeney- he is a Coyle man and Mowbray has publicly had a problem with him since day one. Feeney has infuriated Mowbray in my opinion.

Gallagher- another Coyle man and far worse under Mowbray.

Graham - anyone who saw his innocuous 'hip injury' within minutes of coming on the other week would have to be sceptical. He certainly seemed to recover remarkably quickly to now be back in contention. Can anyone honestly say his body language this season has been indicative of a happy player?

    Stokes- wtf!!

    Corry Evans- see Stokes/Graham above

    Where is Greer?

Akpan- incongrously arrived in a taxi before the last home game. Not sure that is partuicularly relevant to this thread but he played like he he had been on the ale.

Guthrie- I rate him but I think he is a gobby scouser who rubs managers up the wrong way. I bet he would offer an interesting view on the season after a few pints!

Emnes /Joao - big buddies and travelling companions. Very talented but absolutely zero interest in our club. A bad influence on each other and collectively, a manager's basic nightmare.

I see Raya, Conway, Mulgrew, Lenihan, Lowe, Nyambe,Williams and Mahoney as the flip side of the coin and basically the good guys.

I called relegation before a ball was kicked and I call it now. Mowbray must be gutted. He is a genuine good guy surrounded by scoundrels and wastrels.

Oh, for a Kevin Moran or a Craig Bellamy! Even an Ian Miller or a Robbie Savage!

Yet this season's template is the one to be used next season,at an intensified level. Young ones will learn bad habits from their elder loanees.

We will never prosper under Venkys

  11. I haven"t made my mind up about Mowbray yet. Given the hand he picked up he hasn't had much to play with. he does at least seem honest and decent

He has made us more difficult to beat and he has given us at least a chance to stay up when we would have been relegated already under Coyle.

However if we have to win both our last games, nothing suggests we could do that. We'd need a bit of flair and bravery for that and I agree with whoever said we should start with Graham upfront and Emnes just behind him. What Agbonlehor(sp?) will do to our centre-backs is a worry though.

Lets look at our likely partners in relegation - Wigan and Rotherham. Will relegation be a disaster for them? Probably not. Both clubs know League One, both have been there recently, both have owners and boards that understand the league and know how to deal with it. Both have squads of players that will be able to adjust to that level on wages that are probably manageable at that level. I fully expect both will be at least pushing for the play-offs next season.

Will we have a plan? Senior reckons he does, but if/when we go down will we see action or inertia?

Our finances are shot at. Our squad is a joke, a mixture of loans, crocks and short term deals. The few with any value the club will actively attempt to sell rather than try to keep for a promotion push. Its obvious that their intention is to use the U23s to fill up the first team squad, both to try and boost player values ahead of another batch of sales and also to avoid having to pay any transfer fees

It pains me but I'll be expecting back to back relegations.

I bet Venkys, Senior and Cheston are crapping themselves at the possibility of us staying up. There is no way we could compete in the Championship without money being spent and there is none to spend.

We are a League One club now in all but name.

Not just the Huddersfield game but Bristol City on the final day too. We could really have done with them needing something themseves but they'll be long safe by then.

Yeah, concerns me that. A week or two ago I wrote that Big Club had the difficult run-in because all 4 games had something resting on them. Since then, their last 2  opponents have nothing to play for.

We need 4 points minimum but that would not necessarily be enough.

Exactly what I was going to ask.

Whats the point? So that another dodgy owner trying to buy a different club in 5 years time might actually fail an improved  'fit and proper persons test'?

So you think the Trust shouldn't even bother trying then? What's the point of that?

  15. Birmingham in real trouble I think. All 4 of their remaining games involve something to play for for both sides.

2 relegation-threatened sides, 1 play-off team and local rivals Aston Villa.

They could collapse under that. However I was wrong about Bristol so, no doubt, lots of twists and turns to come yet!
